This company sounds so, good on the surface...but service after the sale is and customer service is horrible!! The windows are awesome, but the first crew left such a mess. Two of the windows were backordered - still not sure how when they are 'custom made'. When the second crew came they said that the first crew had installed the windows incorrectly and had since been fired because of previous issues. The third crew has yet to arrive!! Even though we were PROMISED that two crews would be here on Saturday and we waited around all day for NOTHING. They were a complete NO SHOW Not even a phone call to cancel. We called and but no one answered. No one has returned our calls. We bumped a minor surgery to be here one day. As of today we have been bumped again. I finally heard back this afternoon only to be told that we have been rescheduled for another 9 days out. So not impressed!! If I could give them zero stars I would. I was stupid enough to pay $12,000 for an exterior door, and that is with a $2,000 discount! It was installed last October and here we are just 8 months later and both the interior door and the storm door are both sagging. I have made several calls to my "local representative" and have heard nothing back in the last two weeks. I am now looking at filing complaints with the corporate office and potential legal actions if this is not resolved to my satisfaction. Once they have your money, you are on your own. I scheduled a free in-home "consultation" through their website to get a quote. A quote is all I wanted. I said this to the sales rep upfront. I was researching window prices with various companies. The sales rep was offended that I was only requesting a quote and he tried to get me to schedule a follow up meeting. I don't respond well to high-pressure sales. By the way, their quote was $20,000 more than any other window company in town. Andersen is supposed to have some of the best quality windows available, but unless you're rich, I wouldn't bother. read more

They speak to the positives such as highlighting that a material called fibrex instead of vinyl or plastic. I looked up the composition of Fibrex = 40% wood fibers they have left over from other projects and 60% refurbished thermoplastic polymer. In order to prevent financing or paying up front there is a same as cash program. The program is actually backed by a finance company. The company will run the credit before approval, which is followed by agreement of Renewal. I elected that option. There is suppose to be 50% of total charge at time order is placed, which follows a visit by person to measure each item 3x (measure 3x cut 1x type mentality) I decided it might be best to ask HOA before start and look at little deeper since recycled material was a surprise. I completed the cancel form on 22January2024, which I had until midnight 24January2024. I sent the form to the company and they asked if I wanted to delay I stated clearly again cancel. Secondarily, I sent message to cancel measure appointment and they asked delay or cancel Stated cancel. I was told by the finance company that my account was already charged 50% on 22January2024 and I could not close the account until refund. Now Renewal's reputation appears sketchy at best. Sent two messages to refund. Today was messaged about if I wanted to cancel. My head may have exploded. Maybe I should type slower or use larger bold font. Told will send cancel today Hmm seems waiting attempting to until after my 3 day cancellation window (today 24January2024) No I would not recommend nor would I use them in the future. The initial visit with the in home sales person went well. This company was in our top two, but we wanted to explore more options and compare the products and quotes. The next day we received a call from another company rep wanting information on why we had not gotten the windows the day of the visit. I let him know we were still looking and he asked for details on who else we were shopping with. I told him I was not interested in sharing that information and he then got upset and accused me of being a "tire kicker." I took this as an insult, so I let him know that the phone call was over. I called customer service and began to explain the problem and was hung up on. Unfortunately, this chain of events has led to us choosing not to go with this company, and I would recommend others to shop elsewhere as well. read more

They are great products but the latch broke on the French doors. The new company in Carmel has no record of us. we have to call Anderson for repairs. read more

I had front and patio doors installed in January 2022. The patio door wouldn't shut. Representative came out in February and said the door was warped and plastic strips broken. Will not close from outside. He said it would be 10 weeks to get replacement door. It's been 4 months. I call the numbers but no one will get back to me. Would not recommend company. In August 2023 we had Renewal by Anderson out to our home to give us quotes on new windows for one wall in one room. They quoted us 18k for the windows. They requested 50% down which we paid and said that the installation would be that fall. In September they sent a followup person out for measurements who claimed several things were wrong with the quote and said we had to pay an additional 1K in adjustments (also apparently there were a lot of errors in the original order on color, grids, etc.), so they did NOT honor the original contract price. I'd also requested on all occasions that the window grids arrive ahead of time so I could stain them to match the room and that I be the contact person for all communication. They kept calling just my husband despite my and his request. On Oct 27 with no notice to me the windows arrived for installation (grids were not delivered ahead of time for staining as repeatedly requested) and they were terrible quality, I stopped installation contacted the sales person sent photos that this was NOT what I was expecting for almost 20k (see pics below). The windows had giant seams where connected and weren't even aligned at connection points. The quality was very bad. Also grids were missing (as well as hadn't been delivered ahead of time like requested). The installation crew and sales person also agreed the quality was well below what was normal. The sales person said they would fix the issue and recontact me. After waiting over a month Nov 27 I contacted him, he had no idea status. I waited another week and told him I wanted to cancel the order. Due to lack of communication, poor quality, and not honoring original price. He said we'd have to pay over 5k to cancel the order despite there being so many issues from Renewal by Anderson. I thought because of all the Anderson issues he just couldn't cancel but I could escalate up and explain the situation. Nope all the way up anderson didn't care that the experience has been awful from their side and if we want to cancel we have to pay a 33% cancellation fee. I'm shocked that a company that is supposed to have a good reputation is so incredibly shady. I'm extremely disappointed by their communication, business practices, and quality of product and wouldn't recommend them to anyone. So an update to my review. Renewal by Anderson did comeback and readjust my windows. But I still felt a draft coming through this winter season. So I go outside to look underneath my bay window and notice the under trim to be coming off and also notice no foam insulation or sealant between window and home. See the pictures below. We have had nothing but issues since our initial install in October. We were having new French doors installed and after the first install, there was caulk all over the hinges, door frame, etc. The door was not level on the top or bottom. Installers had to come out and completely remove the door and reinstall and even mentioned what a poor job the initial installers did. At that point, we were told the door was warped and they had to order a new panel which would take 8 weeks, all the while having issues with the lock, which is a safety hazard, and had to have yet another installer come out to make adjustments. New panel was finally installed in February with no update on screen doors. Have tried calling numerous numbers for 2+ weeks to get an update with no help or guidance. We initially thought we might use this company for windows but that will not happen after this terrible, run around experience. Every person guides us to a new number and we are told people will call us back, which has yet to be the case. read more

Well that was awkward. We want a new front door, so I contacted Renewal to set an appointment. Simple enough, except it wasn't. I called, and the lady wanted some information. I gave her my name, address and phone number. She then read a long list of marketing activities I had to agree to including emails, automated calls and texts, at any time for any reason. I said I just wanted to schedule an appointment, and she said I had to agree to all the automated marketing in order to do so. I called again, and they same request was made. I can see why the ratings are so low. A simple process, ruined by idiocy. Antonio M replied below, and let me respond: I provided my name, email, phone number and address in order to set up an appointment to discuss options for a front door. I actually called TWICE, once with the toll free number and once with a local number. I asked for an appointment and was told, twice, that I had to agree first to your marketing campaign via text and calls. We were able to set an appointment with another company, Pella, that puts the customer first. And I just called again to speak directly to Antonio M or Tony M. They don't list an Antonio or Tony there, so they appear to use a fake employee. read more

I have called 5 FIVE times with a simple request, which is to have someone drop off a sample of the wood trim used on my window, so I can test the stain (which their instructions tell me to do). No one has returned my call, nor provided the sample. I thought paying a premium price (over $3,000 for one window) would assure good service. Wrong! I would NOT recommend this company. We had multiple problems from order to delivery to installation and at this point the management team does NOT care. We had to wait 6 months for delivery (to be fair, we expected 4-6 months). But when it was delivered, the front entry door was the wrong inside color. The rep that came to "confirm" the sales order changed the inside color to a color that was not available, but no one called to correct - they just made it the same as the outside color. We had to wait another 3 months for a corrected door. The side entry door was delivered as a swing-out in lieu of swing-in. The rep that came to "confirm" the sales order had informed us that it would have to be swing-in as swing-out was against fire code. We opted to keep the swing-out door as we researched and learned that it was NOT against code because it was from outside to garage, not from garage to house. The worst was the storm/screen door. The rep that showed up to "confirm" the sales order had corrected the storm from full window to a 50/50 window with a retractable screen. We did not get a 50/50. We had to call to get someone to help get a corrected storm/screen. What they then delivered (1 full year from original order) was full SCREEN with movable window - REALLY?? 3 weeks later, the "authorized" manager still has not called to talk to us. We have told our complaint to a couple of other managers who have relayed info to the Operations Manager (the "authorized" manager). He has hid behind other managers to call and tell us that we are SOL without really talking to us nor giving us any options. And you will NOT get an Anderson product, which they are not really upfront about. Shame on me for not reading the fine print. We were willing to pay a bit more for the "Anderson" name, but that isn't what we got. This is why I rated poor price value. The only bright spot in this whole year-long ordeal was the installer. He was the most competant, professional person - but he was a subcontractor. This is one extremely dissatisfied customer who will NEVER EVER purchase from nor recommend this company. Today, uninvited, a peddler came to my door at 5 pm (dinner time for my kids), and disrupted our routine with a ring at the bell and a sales pitch. When the canvasser was asked for his business card and personal contact info, in my opinions, he was evasive and refused to provide that. Instead, he gave me and flyer with the corporate information for his parent company (website still provides the contact info for the local peddler's company). Vote with your dollar bills people, do not reward any company which canvasses neighborhoods by agreeing to buy products from them! I must not have read these reviews before we decided to use Renewal By Andersen. We made a HUGE mistake! Stay away from this company! FAR FAR AWAY! Yes, as other reviewers state they force both husband and wife to be present at the estimate. That way the know you cannot have a private discussion or time to think about if you really want to spend tens of thousands of dollars with their company. Yes that's right, aside from our home this is the most expensive purchase we have ever made. Over $20,000! What do we get for that? A product that doesn't perform at all as described and the worst customer service ever! The day our windows were installed 2 or 3 of them had locks that didn't work. Plus the lock for the sliding glass door never even made it on to the delivery truck. The installers promised me that they had written up our non working locks and someone would call and schedule them to be fixed the next day. Well 3 days later I called to yell at them and schedule it myself. The repair was scheduled for a couple of weeks in the future! WHAT THE HELL?!?! I could have bought a brand new car for what I paid you and you think it's ok to leave my home with windows that don't lock for weeks!?!? This isn't the Andy Griffith show! I want my windows and doors locked! I waited weeks with unlocked windows and sliding door before they finally got out here and fixed it. My husband works in service and always has extra parts in his work van so when he arrives at a client and something is not working he can fix it right there. These installers should have spare locks on their trucks so they never have to leave a family unprotected. It has now been 6 months since our install and we got a call a couple of weeks ago asking about our satisfaction. Well now that winter is here I had negative feedback for the guy. I told them I was promised we wouldn't feel the cold coming through the new windows but it does. Also was promised ice wouldn't form on the inside of the new windows but it does. In fact so much water and ice forms on the inside of the windows that the caulk they used now has mold on it. The sliding glass door also won't shut right when it is REALLY cold out like it has been almost all winter. The guy on the phone seemed shocked and said none of those things should be happening and he would have his schedulers call to make an appointment with me within 24-48 hours.. This was a couple of weeks ago and I haven't heard anything. Now that I had some time I looked up their number so I could call and yell at them yet again and saw all these other bad reviews. I will be calling them shortly. I hope if you are reading these reviews trying to decide on a company to replace your windows that you will skip over this one and go somewhere else. This is the biggest monetary mistake we have ever made. This company had their salesmen do "door-to-door" sales pitches in my neighborhood. First, there is absolutely nothing wrong with this type of marketing, when done with professionalism and respect. However, my neighbor not only has a "no soliciting" sign on his front door (bc they have a newborn) - he also has a video surveillance with audio attached to his door bell. The video focuses on two men standing on their porch holding clip boards representing this company, Renewal by Anderson. The first gentlemen then explains to the other how to handle homes that have "no soliciting" signs, by saying "oh I am so sorry I didn't see that there, well since I have you here.." and that no matter what, the company will "have our backs". Then he continues on with "I will train you just like I was trained" and explains why you should not post their business sticky notes on the doors with the no soliciting signs. This video was sent out through out our neighborhood because of the blatant disregard for such a simple request. The two gentlemen are then seen walking over to my porch. They ring my door bell. I then check my video surveillance to find two men, that I do not know standing at my door. I am home alone, with a toddler, two very large dogs and I just got finished working a 13 hr night shift - so I don't answer. They ring the door bell again. Okay. Enough time then passes that I think they have left. But no, they ring the door a third time. Three times? Why is this even necessary. Eventually, they leave but not without leaving behind the sticky note with their business information. (thanks?) I understand that this is a business just trying to generate sales.. but please 1. Be respectful of the no soliciting signs. A sleeping baby may not be a big deal to you - but it is to a family who hasn't slept all night. 2. I showed the salesman and the rep doing the measuring exactly what I wanted, the window over the front door was to have a 1 1/2 inch revile on the inside of the house. What I received was a window with 3 1/2 inches of Teradyne plastic around the inside. When I tried to contact the company I got no replay. I am 80 years old and feel as if I was taken advantage of because of my age. read more

Horrible experience with these people, I was just trying to get a price for new windows and have them installed. I took time off work to meet rep at my house. As soon as he understood it was only me at home he informed me he could not help me. He said its company policy that both husband and wife needs to be there for his pitch. The sales rep told me that if I would not buy on the spot I would love significant discounts and would be sorry. He said they many many promotions that apply only if I purchase when he presents and when he walks out of the door the prices go up. I asked him to get out of my house! I did inform the appointment setter when I called that I would be the only one at home and they spoke to management and said that was fine. I also shared I would not be making a decision the day of the appointment. I called the company to inform them of the experience and all I was told was, sorry to hear that, good bye! The one star is far too many. Engaged this group of 'experts' to install 3 sliding glass doors in 2016. They finally completed the job at the end of August, 2018. A complete comedy of errors on their part, only nobody was laughing. As I was out of the country upon completion of the work on the 3 sliding glass doors, their final invoice went unpaid until my return. Within 3 weeks of them finally fulfilling their 2+year contractual obligation, for which I laid out over 50% deposit, they had a lawyer from Bose McKinney send me a threatening demand notice. Absolutely the worst customer service, respect and treatment ever. If you want to spend thousands to get the runaround and then threatened with a lawsuit or lien, this is the perfect company for you. Had a Renewal by Andersen awning window installed in my 7 years ago. There was an issue with the locking mechanism, so I called up the the local representative in Carmel, IN. The window was well within the 10 year warranty, but of course I had to argue with them for a day to get them to accept that fact. Then, it took them one month for someone to inspect the window so they could order parts. 4 months later, the parts hadn't arrived because someone forgot to order them. I complained. They ordered the parts. The parts finally came in but they were the wrong parts. So they ordered them again. And Again they forgot! I had to pester them. The service tech came out again several months later only to bring the wrong part AGAIN!. They ordered the part a 3rd time. Guess what? 9 months later, they brought the wrong part a 3rd time! The window still hasn't been fixed. Terrible customer service (not by the service tech - they were helpful) and absolutely no conscience from the office to do the right thing and provide some sort of compensation for all the time I wasted on the phone with them and taking time off work to meet the Service Tech just to find out they still didn't get it right. If you buy windows that are supposed to be high quality, and pay a high price for them, you expect the customer service to be top notch. That is not how this operation thinks apparently. I bought all new windows and a patio door. The salesman started high and then talked to his boss and the price came down about $5000. Got the windows measured by a pro and the install was great. Best installer I have ever seen and this is the 3rd time I have had windows installed in my houses. The bad is how they hound you on financing. Got approved for no interest for 12 months. Found an air leak in the patio door in Nov, finally got a guy to come and check it on Dec.6. Part was to be here on 12-22 -16 and got a call today they will install the seal that was bad on 1-22. A "defect" in the door. It has been partially installed for almost 2 months. Now, calls are not returned and given horrible excuses when we are able to speak to "someone in charge". The new door was not and I quote "in the warehouse for some reasons. This has NEVER happened and we don't know where your door is". Called on the DAY of new install. Set up a new schedule date. Great product, unimpressive sales staff, unprofessional installers and incompetent business office. We had a fair sized job with multiple sliding doors and windows and were told they could install in a few days. I called their business office just before installation and was told they were all set to complete the job on schedule. Long story short - it took over two months, six separate installer visits, three different installer teams and they still have to replace doors the installers damaged while trying to install them. Technically, the Andersen product is superior; replacement windows come with sub-frames that greatly simplify installation, frame materials are highly weather resistant, glass is highly energy efficient, interior and exterior finish is first rate. I would not recommend this company. The windows whistled after installation. Service was called and one no show and one attempt was made. After 6 months of waiting for a return service call, I personally resolved the air infiltration issue. Not certain if design, measurement error or installation error for our situation. Nine months after the install, a first time statement was contrived with the disputed amount only it was listed as 90-120 days late in payment. (The CFO had indicated 6 months earlier that account balance due was written off and the account was a zero.) Very sad experience and I am out almost $4,000.00 for sub standard windows. read more

(Over $6000 [my mistake here]) Salesman told us it would be assembled on site. He lied. No track for screen door Deadbolt broke that day Installer did not know that the deadbolt was the only means of locking the door. Our home remained open to the public for 2.5 months No one whom I talked to knew how the door worked. Each told me that the door was locked even without the deadbolt. WRONG! Wrong hardware was included when installed Tried to talk to a regional manager. Call center told me they could not connect me. Told me I would receive a call. Never happened. Lots of air flow came from the bottom of the door. Finally someone came out with the screen track and to fix air flow He had the wrong track. He caulked the inside to stop air flow. Of course this meant that the air and moisture would make it under the door leading to rotting am mold. I PAID OVER $6000 FOR THIS DOOR Finally the right track was installed but the screen door was damaged. They replaced the door but installed it backwards New hardware came without the handle. Had to be ordered. All this time I have requested calls from the owner. From the day it was installed the door would not stay open I PAID OVER $6000 FOR THIS DOOR! Finally got a call from a warehouse manager. Nice guy. He sent out his best installer to fix things. He shows up without the tools to fix it. He borrowed my level and Allen wrenches. Could not fix it. Called the warehouse manager again. He would personally come out and take care of all of the problems. This is when he called an old installer installer and found out that the door locks only with the deadbolt. MYSTERY SOLVED He came out and did stop it from closing. He had to move one of the hinges out of its inset. This made the door squeak when in closes and it is sitting whopper jawed in the frame I PAID OVER $6000 FOR THIS DOOR He told me that he forgot to straighten it before he left He sent someone to fix it. The guy couldn't fix it because the screws were stripped. This guy said he would order parts we would get a call to schedule the replacement. I missed the call but called back and left a message. Still have not receive a return call Called yesterday. Was promised that a manager would be calling Still waiting Sent a text to the warehouse manager. NO RESPONSE Unfortunately I have no other recourse but this. Install team was fast efficient and very friendly. Good guys and knew what they were doing. Answered all my questions and made sure I knew how to operate my new windows and care for them. I wasn't even able to get started on my search for replacement windows with Anderson. As soon as they learned that it would only be me at the appointment rather than both my husband and me, I was told that this was their busy season and "preference" is given to those clients willing to invest their time. Obviously MY time isn't as important as my husband's. We know that their purpose is to get us there together rather than actually being able to have a discussion about their product, but neither of us would fall for that. We have Anderson windows in our home and they were made in 1976. Overall we have been pleased with them so when we decided to replace a few windows, we ordered windows by Renewal by Anderson on Oct 5, 2017. We were told our install date would be Dec 10. Well, that was on a Sunday so that was not true. My husband called to check on the install date and they had made an error, looked at the wrong year so our install date was pushed back until Jan 10. Then the date was moved by them to Jan 16. Wayne showed up and was nice. He installed all 8 windows but was unable to install the trim on the second floor window (metal roof too slick to stand on...understandable) so he said he would be back to finish the job....We had an appointment set for Feb 14 and it turned out to be a no call/no show. My husband called 3 times in 3 days and left messages for them to call us. We have not yet received a call. I just chatted on-line with a rep and after he said he forwarded the information on and asked me if I had any further questions, I was typing to him when he ended our chat session. After looking at the installed windows, they are very nice looking, but the screw plugs were not installed so I can feel air coming in when the wind blows. The kitchen window was measured wrong and the window we got was approximately 2" too small on all sides. He filled it in by framing with wood. The living room window was also measured wrong and about 2" shorter than is should have been. Rather than filling the gap with wood, he filled it with foam insulation. We want this fixed. There are a few other cosmetic issues with trim that need fixed also. We would highly recommend checking reviews about the company before making the purchase as the process is definitely not as smooth as was presented on the day we purchased them. read more

Our experience with Renewal by Anderson was outstanding. We had a specific reason for talking with Renewal due to a reflection from our "construction grade" windows when the house was built, that was melting our vinyl siding. The Renewal salesman wasn't sure if his windows would stop the reflection and could not guarantee it in writing, and did not pressure us into a sale. After talking with my wife that after 20 years with the "construction grade" windows we needed them anyway and new of the quality of the windows and hoped they would fix our problem We replaced 10 windows with a 1 year same as cash, perfect for us. The installers showed up on time, were courteous, very accommodating, and cleaned up after they left. Before they left they gave us very good information about the windows and how to care for them. Since I'm making my own window sills they made it so I could take out the old ones without damaging the windows and left us with 3 tubes of caulk when the new sills went in. Turns out the Renewal windows stopped the reflection and now I can call Unique to come out and replace the melted ones. Thank you Renewal! Jack S read more
