We received three estimates for window replacement at our rental property. Hoosier Boy Home Improvements was the most reasonably priced. In addition, we liked the fact that the windows were made by Pella. We decided to go with Hoosier Boy. We signed the contract for replacement windows on July 22, 2019. The new windows were installed on August 26, 2019. They cleaned everything up after the installation and hauled away all the old windows. Our renters are very happy with the new windows. Don't work with Phil and Hoosier Boy. Run away. Paid over $23k for all new windows on new construction in September 2018 after months of him pushing for me to order right away. My house was behind schedule almost 2 months and kept him informed the whole way. I gave him notice mid January I was ready for windows. He takes days to figure anything out on delivery and install because he does none of it himself. I have to reach out every time for any information and always no information given. He doesn't know schedules or anything. One day he says he'll setup for next week. Then 2 days later I ask and now he says a commercial job going on so it will be a couple weeks. Every week I ask what the status is and he has zero information to give. 3 weeks and no information or windows I paid for. Contact him and no information. I tell him I want my windows delivered because Pella delivers and he has my money. It takes no man power for him just my money. No reason given as to why I can't have windows. I go to pella Indianapolis who has my windows and they say they won't deliver until balance is paid. BALANCE?! I paid $23k in full in September and now he doesn't have $8k to pay remaining balance. All the while the past few weeks during the "commercial job" there have been reviews given of residential jobs being completed during this time. One sounding familiar to my own due to them using his 0% interest no money upfront funding for his company. Bottom line. 2/25/19. Out over $23k, no windows in sight, new construction at a stand still the past month and months to follow, Phil giving no reason as to why I can't have my windows, Greensky financial trying to reach him for reasoning and resolve but he won't answer them, and now I have to get my lawyer involved. The experience we had with Hoosier Boy Home improvements was less than desirable. I would not want any family member or friend dealing with this company. Our long process started 12/27/2017 with our in home consult and window purchase. Our project was just finished 01/30/2019. Yes, you are reading that correctly, the entire process with install took over one year. We replaced 31 Pella window units in our house. That included every window with the exception of the one in the garage which had already been replaced. We paid $31,000. I had 2 very specific requirements for our finished product: I wanted roll screens in my kitchen window units and in my living room window units so I could have a cross breeze without having to take screens in and out. These requirements were made very clear to Phil while he was at my house getting all of the specifications. My husband and I had made it a point to express our desires in those windows multiple times. Phil sent us the contract to sign through email and we signed it. There was a few back and forth contracts as a couple of them had the incorrect windows on it so we sent it back for correction. So we financed with Phil at his suggestion as we were going to wait and pay in full with cash but he wanted to close the deal as soon as possible so offered us 0% financing for 18 months so he ended up getting all of his money up front. We had no contact with Phil for months and sent email communications to him in February March and April asking the status. He replied through email stating he would check the status. Finally in May he states the windows were in after some had been broke during transit and to clear a place in the garage. We did this. In June the windows were finally started for install after sitting in our garage for a month and us parking our vehicle outside. Well our rollscreen for the kitchen window did not come in and Phil acknowledged this by coming out to the house. He said he would have that reordered immediately, it never got ordered and he never had any intention of ordering it. I still do not have rollscreens in the kitchen. We had multiple issues with the quality of work that was going into our install and stopped the work a couple of times. At one point we asked for a new contractor and Phil asked us to continue with the one we had. We had to have our bathroom window reset 3 times as it was crooked and then stuck too far out inside were the trim did not sit flush with the wall. This caused damage to our wood trim in multiple places. We made Phil aware of all of the issues we had through email along the way. Phil did not want to communicate through phone calls and took an incredibly long time to respond to emails. In September 2018 the work was finally complete by the installer so Pella and the "finish contractor" could come out and make any necessary repairs. The Pella rep was fantastic and assisted us above and beyond. The rep for ABC contracting was also fantastic and also went above and beyond. We got in contact with the Pella and ABC rep on our own. We spoke with managers for the companies and explained our whole ordeal and both companies extended much support to getting our job complete with the product they offered. We eliminated Phil from the communication chain and got so much more accomplished. I will say my husband and I are very flexible with our schedule and one of us is always home at any given time. I think had this not been the case this whole process could have been extended much longer due to availability of access to the house. So overall I would not recommend Hoosier Boy. I would absolutely recommend the product of Pella but go through a proper company to receive it. read more

After receiving 6 different quotes, we hired Hoosier Boy because they had high quality affordable windows and they didn't use aggressive sales tactics like the other companies.
