[EDIT: I am scrolling through her reviews and noticed that she has received another 1 star review from two years ago, where she responded to it by accusing them of not being in her client list, and that they had never come in for a service, BUT in the review they had mentioned her repeatedly waxing over the same area multiple times, which I experienced as well. This is a huge red flag considering that I had the same experience as the woman who left the review!!!] However, I find it misleading how there are no photos of the actual studio online, only photos of the building where the small space that you are actually getting waxed in is located, which is essentially a closed glass office cubicle with a privacy curtain between the door and hallway. So if you are looking for a more upscale experience I would not recommend this studio, every other room on the floor of this building was literally a small desk with a computer and a chair. I also noticed that she was leaving the used strips in a very messy pile on the table I was laying on by my feet, which is unusual to me compared to other experiences I have had at different studios. I didn't realize until we were done because when I shifted my feet to sit up, my sock went straight into a pile of used strips and used cotton pads. We weren't chatting during the wax which is fine, but she also randomly broke the silence and started talking about how the chipotle she ate the night before was hurting her stomach and that I was thankfully the last client of the day because she wanted to go home. Which was also kind of strange to me as a first time client. She also did not discuss aftercare with me in person, as I was paying at the end of my appointment she told me that she would send the aftercare instructions to my phone. I received an email with the aftercare instructions 24 hours after my appointment, and then a text message with the same instructions 3 hours after I received the email. This bothered me a lot, because the most important time window of aftercare is the 24 hours that come immediately after the appointment, and she did not send the information until that time frame had already passed. When I confronted her about it, her response was also very strange and unapologetic. I have included screenshots with the appointment timestamp as well as the aftercare email timestamp, and the text messages that we exchanged the day after the appointment. Overall, this was the most unprofessional wax I have ever received, and I definitely will not be returning to this studio. I have never left a yelp review in my life and I really do not enjoy taking the time out of my day to write this about someone's small business, but I also think that other girls deserve to know my experience so that they aren't disappointed or even worse, left feeling uncomfortable during a service that is already a somewhat vulnerable situation in general.

She really goes out of her way to make sure her customers are satisfied. I've gotten my lashes done by her twice now and will continue to get them refilled by her as she really delivers. The first time I got my lashes done by Jewel, I got home and was not completely satisfied. I texted Jewel and she tried her best to schedule a time to see me before my trip in two days. Though she wasn't able to see me before my trip, she still accommodated me a week after my initial appointment date! Well past her 24-48 hours grace period! The communication at a point got frustrating as we tried to find a time that worked for the both of us. Once I expressed my frustration, Jewel called me immediately, apologizing and fitting me in her busy schedule late that same night. She is a busy individual (as she should be, she does great work) but once you arrive at your appointment, all her attention is on you! This sugaring spot like many I've been to, have no hot towels. You really can't sugar without hot…read moretowels. No matter how talented the technician you will leave sticky. Also there was no pre-care. They do a Brazilian facial, but it's just like a scrub, which you should never do at the same time as a Sugaring or a waxing. Those processes are already physically exfoliating. With no hot towels, there is no way to open up the pores to loosen up the hairs so I had a bunch of breakage. I had regrowth within the week. Sugaring should give you about 2 1/2 weeks hair free. My technician was talented, but she only had a firm paste available to her so it was incredibly painful while she molded the sugar which shouldn't be painful at all. It was like dragging silly putty over my hairs. The walls needed another coat of white paint. You could see faint purple paint behind it. The bed is so rickety and narrow. There's no padding, I could feel the frame under my body. It was like laying on a wooden slab. My butt cheeks hung off of either side of the table. This is definitely not a double bolt treatment table, so all of the weight rests on a single bolt that could break. No windows no Plants. Nothing comforting.
