Renaissance Salon - Top 3 Nail Salons in Detroit, MI https://threebestrated.com/nail-salons-in-detroit-mi - Nail Salons Near Me - Detroit, Michigan

SHELLAC NAILS IN DETROIT??? I move around a lot for work and didn't expect it to be so hard to find a shellac nail salon in downtown Detroit. But it ::IS:: hard. NOT ANYMORE. Go see Christina or Janelle- they're both professional nail stylists, very warm, friendly and qualified. They want to make sure your experience is everything you'd hope it would be. From massages, to deluxe pedis to ::fun:: shellac nails... they aim to please. EXPERIMENT... With glitter! With an accent nail! Don't like it? They'll fix it! TRULY A hidden gem on the entrance level (river side) of the Death Star/Ren Cen. I can't wait for them to expand their services to include Brazilians. Tell them Jeanne sent you! Enjoy!!! :) read more

This salon is very expensive and had extremely poor quality. I paid $79 for a pedicure and a shellac french manicure and I am so unhappy with it. The only way that I can describe it is sloppy. I actually had the tech change the toenail polish once to fix her work, but when she re-did it I realized she was just terrible so I didn't say anything. I am attaching photos. read more

Renaissance Salon - Nail Salons Near Me - Detroit, Michigan

I came for a conference and needed a brow wax before things got serious. The spa is pretty easy to find, even in the maze that is the Renaissance Center. The prices are good/reasonable and the techs are really nice. An issue with the space is there is not separate space for waxing. You just go to a hair station, the tech adds a headrest, and you lean your head back. I think this angle contributed to another issue, which was the tech that worked on me was a smoker, and his breath kept hitting me in the face. It was foul and I had to time my breathing to his so I didn't inhale his smokers breath (I was not successful and have been coughing the rest of the day). I have never had this problem with any other waxing experience. He also wiped me down with rubbing alcohol and it was so strong I had trouble breathing. I want to give this place more stars, but the chair and the breath were unpleasant. in a pinch, though, I would totally get my brows waxed here again. He did a pretty good job. read more

Renaissance Salon - Highlights Cut and Frame perfect for my curly and straight look - Nail Salons Near Me - Detroit, Michigan

I have been to this salon a couple times for nail services over the years. I have never had a positive experience with the people at the front desk - I always get an unfriendly welcome. Years ago the nail techs were okay, but I am not sure what happened. I recently had my acrylic nails taken off and I am shocked I didn't leave there bleeding and nail-less. It seemed like the nail tech has never done nails before. I have never seen such a poor job. I had to tell her what to do a few times....then I had to ask the other tech to help and she wasn't any better. I will not be coming back here. read more

Great experience. After a crazy week at home, I needed a blow dry and a manicure in the worst way. I've had no problems booking before in Detroit, but the city as hopping and Movement was in town. I was able to get a fabulous blow dry and gorgeous nails here at the last minute. The owner and Alexis were fabulous! Very reasonable prices. Wish I could take this place home with me. read more

Looked for a Salon near work and finally found it! Frdindly and efficiant, nice without being snobby or extravagant. Will be back!

Just got a great mani pedi there while in town for a business trip. The nail tech was sweet, funny. She did a great job and also helped tell me more about where to eat and sight see around the Renaissance Center. (Its not the most beautiful or hi tech salon, but she rocked.) read more

A few weeks ago, I would've given this salon higher ratings because the few times I have come in before for a basic haircut ended up decent and the owner is quite nice. However, I am not exaggerating when I say I just had the worst experience of any salon I've been to. I walked in willing to pay over $300 for a hair treatment that included highlighting my hair and getting a Brazilian blowout. Having recently had a Keratin done elsewhere with bad results, and being nervous about highlighting my hair due to over processing, I proceeded to ask my stylist basic questions....how the highlighting process would work, what color we would do, and how to make sure doing both treatments together wouldn't dry my hair or affect the color. You know, like, a conversation. The stylist had no patience to answer any questions, not about the coloring process nor the Brazilian. Her answers were curt, patronizing, and at some point just plain rude. I had NO idea what color I would end up with because she was not interested in discussing anything. She acted like my questions were a major inconvenience to her. Had to cut the time short mid-appointment because we couldn't stand each other. Then she took the pre-agreed upon price (and also the price advertised in their brochure) and added $20 to it arbitrarily because I didn't proceed with the second treatment. What??? Horrible, horrible attitude and customer service from this stylist. Never stepping foot in again. read more

I was in town and was told there was a salon inside the Marriott. This is actually in the adjacent GM building, but close enough. Unfortunately, the only plus was that I was able to get an appointment on rather short notice. The salon itself is dingy. The polish color selection is limited and gaudy, and the techs do not use new tools for each customer, which is disturbing. The woman who did my nails was sweet but seemingly new at the whole process and shouldn't have been doing manicures. The customer shouldn't be the one responsible for telling someone they're not quite there yet in terms of capabilities. She applied too many coats of paint and all the polish was gloppy and started coming off within an hour of leaving the salon. Luckily, no one other than myself could tell (at least from a distance) how terrible my manicure looked, but it really was a waste of money, even thought it only cost $20. The staff was friendly but that was the only positive thing I took from the experience. To be fair, this was the only service I bought so I cannot speak to any of their other salon services. read more

A cool salon :) Friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. They are working very OK and as for booking so far I didn't have any problems and always book ed on very short notice..As I have noticed they started nail treatments as well and I will try with that too. I'll see if they good with that as with hair cuts.... read more

They were friendly and accommodating. It's a run of the mill salon, nothing special, but a good place to stop if you're in the city and need something done last minute. read more

This hidden treasure inside the Renaissance Center is a life saver. They are always ready when I arrive and give great services at a very reasonable price. They offer shellac nails which isn't very well known or readily available everywhere. If you're staying at the Marriott Hotel, you should make sure to get your services done there during your stay. They are expanding their offerings and increasing their social networking marketing soon. This is an excellent decision from one of the new co-owners who is also a hairstylist, makeup artist and nail tech, named Christine. I highly recommend Renaissance Salon. read more

They squeezed me in for a manicure the day of an event. The staff was extremely professional and friendly. I got a shellac manicure and my nails look wonderful! I definitely recommend coming here for your mani/pedi needs. read more

I came in last minute to get a polish change for the gala I was scheduled to attend a couple of hours later. I was able to get my polish change and it was beautiful. Big ups to Yarlene for staying after hours to make sure my polish change was complete. Because of her I didn't have to waste time trying to find a nail shop to perform these services outside of the hotel I was staying at. Very customer centric. Thank You! read more

Christina did an amazing job on my Brazilian Blowout. I LOVE IT!!!!

I came at the recommendation of the concierge of the Marriott hotel. The ladies that work there are very sweet. I came in to have my gel manicure redone. I very soon realized that I was not getting quality service. I have to say this was the worst service I have ever had. I was so shocked that I just paid and got out of there as soon as I could. I was able to get them repaired at another salon within the hour because I was in a panic at how horrible my nails looked and I was going to a dinner party that evening. I wish I would have captured with a picture to post but I was in such a hurry to get it all fixed I forgot to do it. I am hoping that this was just a fluke and there must be a better nail technician that maybe was off that day and they had a fill in person. Whatever happened I was horrified and shocked and very disappointed. read more

Terrible. No manners whatsoever. Appointment at 4 for ironing curls, I came in at 4.10 and she shooed me away. I was dressed in an ethnic costume and she was looking me up and down and said she's sorry but she had someone else coming in. Donno how she thought waist length hair can be done in 10 mins and had another client set up. I waited for 20 mins at the coffee shop above and saw - there was no client. She lied. Because I walked in at 4.10 in a shalwar kameez dress and not white. read more

Terrible salon. Made an appointment for 4pm but had to wait until 5:00pm until the nail technician was ready. Unprofessional for subpar nail services. You dry your nail polish using ONE tiny fan. read more

I got a full set of acrylic nails on Saturday- began lifting on Monday. I had to go to another salon to fix 7 out of 10 nails. Cheap materials but very nice nail tech. read more

This was my worst/most bizarre customer service experience in my recent memory. I politely asked the receptionist if I could have my hair trimmed because it had tuned out uneven from a recent haircut elsewhere, and I was dying to get it fixed because I am in town getting married in a few days time. The receptionist proceeded to consult with a stylist, who then priced the service at 30 dollars. A few minutes into the process the stylist began to patronize me and ignore my simple requests. At some point she even accused me of having the problem of an uneven haircut in the first place because I was so obviously indecisive and unclear in my instructions to others. I study film direction by the way. She gave off the impression that I was bothering her, and her temper escalated to the point where I also considered just getting up and leaving, but I decided to stick it out. Big mistake, I should have just left. After she pretty much refused to finish evening out my hair, insisting that it would have been an entirely different haircut and would take too long (which is an absurd assertion) she just sort of stopped cutting and whisked off the black covering, and then proceeded to her next appointment, but not before walking over to the register and defiantly announcing to the receptionist that the charge would be 35 dollars instead. Who do they think they are? read more
