We decided to treat ourselves to a fire pit this fall, so we needed to stock up on some wood. We verified they had the kiln dried wood in stock and hooked up our trailer to the truck. Since this was our first time buying wood like this, we had some learning to do for the purchasing and pickup process. They were doing construction on the concrete driveway, so we carefully squeezed our way down the path. Once we were in the office trailer, we figured out we only needed a quarter cord rather than the half cord we originally believed we needed. (For anyone looking for wood, a quarter cord is the appropriate size to fill up the back of a pickup.) We also learned that because the wood was dumped in using a loader--since they sell wholesale--we couldn't have it placed in our enclosed trailer. We ended up disconnecting the trailer on the street and then driving the truck to the back loading area after we paid. If you are using a private vehicle, be aware that you'll need to be prepared for them to do a direct dump into the back or have a flat platform attached to your truck. We've had a few fires using the wood since then and it's burned very well. The quality of the wood seems exactly as advertised and this was what we needed to keep our bonfires going all season long. Buyers be ware. We've got a big fireplace, two big flues and a massive gas starter to get the fire roaring. 1. Got a wet batch of wood from their top of the line kiln dried batch. It popped like crazy and would not stay lit without us running our gas starter, but our "gas-station wood" burned just fine. 2. We took a flyer with them because they admitted they had a bad run and swore it was an anomaly. We proceeded with a $500 cord +$200 for stacking. They canceled at 6pm night before delivery week of Christmas. 3. Spoke to the "dispatch manager", I believe Brett when he called to CANX our delivery. He was kind of apologetic but dismissive. I asked to speak to Mgr, "that's me". Asked for owner "me too". He didn't care that he was leaving us in the lurch and "expected a bad review". What really torqued me is that he hung up on me. Should not be hard to find wood stacked and delivered for less than $700/cord with much better service and reliability. As an update, their colored mulch earns a 5, and their Garden Grow Compost earns a 1. Last month, I spread a thin layer of the compost on my healthy lawn just to enrich the soil. The compost shocked my lawn and turned it brown after just 2 days. After 3 weeks it is struggling to come back. I brought this to their attention, and they acknowledged the compost may not have been rotated properly. At any rate, I will not use their compost again. read more

I've purchased mulch from Remington's each spring for the past 5 years without any issue. This year I was so proud of myself for ordering weeks ahead. I scheduled the delivery on March 28. Today, March 21, I receive notification that someone is at my front door - it was Remington to deliver my mulch. The driver called me and I told him he made a mistake - the delivery was for next week. He said "well, they told me to deliver it today. You want me to dump it in the street?" In a panic I said "no, put it at the top of the driveway." We hung up and I called Remington, gave them my information and then was asked to hold. I held for 6 minutes and no one ever picked up. I hung up and called again and spoke with someone else. After she put me on hold, she picked up and said "well, the driver said he talked to you and he already dumped the mulch." What a massive lack of customer service. I thought I'd found a solid local company to work with, that would get my very hard earned money. Next year I'll have to find another company. read more

Excellent customer service. I loved the option for ordering and paying online. And super helpful website. Once I ordered, I got a call under 30 minutes to schedule delivery. I would leave 0 star for this company if I can. I ordered 10 yards of topsoil from this company. The problem is with their front desk, truck driver and manager. The wrong information they provided to me resulted in damage of my newly paved driveway. I have my new driveway done only two weeks before the delivery. I called their front desk before the delivery. I asked whether the delivery truck is too heavy and will damage my newly paved driveway. The lady told me the truck shouldn't damage my driveway and asked me to talk to the driver before dumping the topsoil. When the driver was here, I asked him THREE times whether the truck can damage my driveway as the driveway was new. The driver confirmed firmly that the truck wouldn't damage the driveway. Then he drove on to my driveway and dump the topsoil on to the side of the driveway. I immediately found the driveway was depressed in several areas by the tires of the truck as it was too heavy. Now my newly paved driveway is not flat any more. I showed the damage to the driver. The driver couldn't do anything about it except saying sorry. I called in to their office and was told I would be contacted by the manager. When I finally talked to the manager, Caroline, she said it was 100% my problem. Caroline refused to admit that I told the front desk my driveway was new (Why would I call your front desk before the delivery if I didn't worry about my new driveway?). She also said how a driver would know anything about driveway(then why your front desk told me to talk to the driver to decide whether the truck can damage my driveway?) They don't take any responsibility for damaging my driveway as I told the driver to drive on my driveway (I told the driver to drive on to my driveway because he firmly told me the truck wouldn't damage my driveway!). That is really ridiculous. I told your front desk I had a newly paved driveway, your front desk said it should be no problem for the truck to drive on to it, your front desk told me to talk to the driver and your driver firmly told me that the truck wouldn't damage my driveway! Now it is all my fault. Stay away from this company. They do deliver what I ordered but they really don't care. They don't have any insurance to cover the damage to your property during delivery. They avoid responsibility and lie. They have very bad attitude to their customer. read more

Went online to order firewood for the first time. They were out of stock of what I wanted (Kiln dried Hickory) so I texted in the chat asking when more would be available. Caroline texted right back and and after a few texts, she was able to get me what I wanted delivered (1/2 cord) within 48 hours. She was very nice, helpful and easy to work with. Wood was delivered on time ( a little early actually) and driver was kind and professional. After several hours of dragging the wood around my house and stacking it (I'm too old for this), we enjoyed a nice fire that night. Wood burned hot and fast with a nice smell and crackle. I have been getting firewood from smaller shops and saw Remington's add on Facebook, liked their website and prices. Decided to get a delivery of 1/2 cord, kiln dried. This stuff burns great, unlike the other wood which had high moisture content. The delivery driver was very helpful and arrived at the first 15 minutes of the delivery window (First thing Saturday morning). He even helped me load a snowblower to take it in for servicing. read more
