I don't have a lot of comparisons, because where I live near Ft. Meade, there aren't many nurseries nearby. This place is definitely worth the drive for me. Parking is ample, but a little tricky. I mistakenly drove around to the commercial side and had to turn around to get back to the non-commercial area. There were lots of wheeled carts of different sizes. Everything is laid out according to types of plants and their needs - very efficient. I only spoke to three employees, two at some length, and they were so friendly and helpful - big plus for me! I take my business elsewhere if I don't feel welcome. Here's a little oddity that you want to watch out for: GPS kept wanting me to turn onto a side road next to an auto dealership, on the wrong side of Highway 301. (This was coming south from Gambrills/Crofton.) I submitted a correction, but till they fix it be aware the nursery is on the east side of the highway, sort of opposite the auto dealership.

Kelvin refused to honor the sale price or the receipt my contractor provided, which clearly stated the quantity and price of the items I purchased. He accused me of attempting to deceive him. This was an unusual situation. The company advertised the sale, and I sent him a text message with the receipt and a screenshot of their website. He stated that he would refund the money, but he subsequently posted a refund for $0.01. As other reviews have indicated, the product is of high quality, but the customer service is poor. Kelvin is challenging to communicate with and lacks reasonableness. Despite Kelvin's difficult behavior, the mulch was of excellent quality and the most cost-effective option I could find. Therefore, I recommend purchasing the product. While it is of good quality, it is advisable to avoid using Kelvin's services.

Naturally, we reached out to them when it was time to open the pool this season. Unfortunately, the experience has been nothing short of frustrating. After multiple calls and even showing up in person at their facility, we were told, without any explanation, that they would no longer service our pool. Despite the receptionist being very kind and understanding each time we spoke with her, no one ever followed up on the messages she passed along. We even visited the business again in person and spoke with Donald, who we were told handles pools. Instead of helping, he spent time complaining about the previous owners and their child and offered no support. He couldn't even provide basic information like the blueprints or piping layout for the pool they installed. We ultimately had to hire another company to get the pool opened and discovered issues with it maintaining proper water levels. T E Wood Farms has been completely unhelpful in addressing or standing behind the work they originally did. At this point, we will not be working with them any further. The lack of communication, accountability, and basic professionalism over the past month has been incredibly disappointing. Based on our experience, we cannot recommend T E Wood Farms for any pool-related services.

Compared to what you get for mulch at the big box stores, their bagged mulch is fine textured and clean. Other stores have giant hunks of wood, but the products here are great. I have had compost delivered through them at a very reasonable price. Their sales staff there is knowledgeable and friendly and committed to the business. You don't have to ask some part-time teenager to give you help picking out products. I always go there, even though it's not close to me. I appreciate the military discount also. It's a local business worth supporting.

For this snow storm (1/6/25)- the plows were spinning tired with older trucks (bad tires and weight) and we saw the plows raised to not get the snow on the street leaving those parked in their driveways trapped. In the summer - the boundaries that were once handled with mowing and landscaping are now neglected. The owner and contractors have gone down hill despite being great before (maybe because we had a fellow owner employed there). I do not recommend to contract with them on a large scale. It has become a shell of a company. Look at other alternatives that respond and have an owner that acknowledges wrongs. Don't go based on references...just look at the surrounding neighborhoods that do not use them - clean and safe!

This is our 2nd year using Sherman for…read morefirewood; the first year, we ordered 1/2 a cord; they delivered it promptly and stacked it neatly along our chain-link fence. The wood burned so beautifully that we used our wood-burning stove all winter, until we ran out of wood in February...so this year we ordered a whole cord. It was again neatly stacked, and the wood is burning great. After the delivery was made, the owner of the company called to make sure we were satisfied. This is an excellent company, their prices are fair, and we will continue to use them every year. We highly recommend them, and the extra fee for the stacking is well worth it.
