Shabby work, as fast as they can do it, for a poor result so they can get paid ASAP. We hired them to help a portion of a wet yard drain, plant six trees, and plant grass. A couple of the trees were planted leaning towards the house. I paid $6000 to replant my own trees... For the drainage, I never saw any workers survey or measure anything- it was pretty much just two weeks of them grading dirt, rain filling the yard with water, calling them to explain the yard was a lake, and the process repeating. The picture posted is of the pavers after three days of sunshine - and they are wet. During the rain it's just a muddy pond. I'm not a landscaper or drainage expert, just a guy who paid a bunch of cash for a muddy yard. They pretty much just wore me down, every conversation is them making excuses or saying once the grass grows that will prevent 4'' of standing water from forming. I'd say about every other day when it's bright and sunny and I walk through deep soaking wet mud in my yard I am reminded of that $6000 I wasted, and I think to myself "Damn, those guys sure got me good." read more

I called up Silverbrook to locate gardening supplies. They had all I needed. I don't drive due to an injury, so I asked if they do deliveries. The person on the phone was so apologetic, and said there was normally a minimum delivery amount of 29 bags, but they could deliver for a fee. The fee was reasonable, and I quickly accepted. The next morning, at 9 am, promptly, the order arrived, was quickly offloaded with professionalism, good cheer, and everything was nice and neat. I strongly recommend all their services. I was referred to Silverbrook by a friend/neighbor for a small over seeding project. The estimate provided was prompt and professional. We described what we wanted and they explained what they would do and what I would need to do ahead of time. Scheduling the work was bit of an issue as they wanted to make the most of the time spent in my neighborhood (totally understand) as the were doing a redo of my friends lawn (over seeding) as well. The crew only did about 90% of the area we had discussed and agreed to. I had to haggle with Brian to either discount the unfinished work or come back out to complete the remaining section. I gave a good 5 weeks, watered three times a day and had a lot of help with rain in mid May. The results of this project was dismal at best. The areas that germinated came in as well as expected but I had so many patchy areas that did not take. I called to see about them coming back out to fill in the patchy spots and was told they don't guarantee that grass will grow and refused to come back out for a retouch even though he told me himself in the beginning when scheduling that he was coming back to my friend's house for a retouch. Not worth the $1,100 they charged me. Look at the pictures. Beware if use you're thinking about using these guys. read more

Had Silverbrook do some work on my yard after meeting with one of the owners back in 2014. At first everything looked great, though they did incorrectly install the water drainage hose and required 2 more visits to fix the issue. Anyways the major work done was a 8 x 6 paver platform to put my grill. Well here we are almost 3 years later and its already having issues. The metal retainers they used to hold the pavers in the rectangular formation have started to rust and spread apart which basically means, I'm getting gaps between the pavers and all sorts of stuff is getting in the spaces. I contacted SBN and I'm told this is normal and if I wanted to I could pay to have them come out and fix it. Why would I want to pay them more money when the job they originally did isn't holding up. I would avoid them if you need any sort of patio type structure built in your yard as it seems their builds do not withstand the test of time. read more

I can't give a good rating because I have tried to get an estimate a couple of times, by means of leaving voice mail and an email from asking for such through their website, and nobody responds. They get 3 stars because it is middle of the road due to their poor customer service. They may do great work (I don't know) but the fact that they can't even return a call or respond gives them a poor rating. read more

I arrived to this tucked away nursery the minute it opened and I appeared to be the only customer for my 1-hour visit. I showed Lucinda my shrub and plant ideas for my front flowerbed and we then walked the grounds together to discuss the plants I had in mind as well as some alternatives. I was really pleased she listened to my concerns that included the overall look, full sun, and maintenance. I was extended a 15% military discount which saved me over $50 and it was much appreciated. My total cost also came to $80-$100 less than my estimate based on online research. Being able discuss the flowerbed one-on-one with an expert was exactly what I wanted out of the experience, so I am very pleased. I learned a lot and am looking forward to my next visit! read more

I hired Silverbrook Nursery and Landscaping to redo my entire backyard. I had previously hired a different contractor who partially and poorly built a patio and left it unfinished for years! I needed a different company to come in, tear out the terrible patio, and build something nice but inexpensive. Because the existing patio had to be torn out, that was extra labor for Silverbrook Nursery and they, of course, charged me much more for it. Still, I was pleased that they designed a new backyard of rocks, stepping stones, sod, and plants that looked nice, was easy to maintain, and was as inexpensive as possible. All materials were provided by their garden center. The workers showed up on time, cleaned up after themselves, and left a much-improved backyard. read more

Going to a nursery in December is hit or miss. They had a good assortment of Christmas trees and poinsettias. There were also a number of shrubs on sale and the sales person was very knowledgeable about the plants (both in stock and otherwise). There was only one person working there, which became an issue when there were a few customers. I was told that I couldn't use my living social coupon on sale items. I understand that perspective (although it wasn't stated on the coupon, which is not cool). However, I was really offended when I was told that the fact that I had the living social coupon meant that, even after I bought whatever at full price for the amount of the coupon, they wouldn't honor their sale prices for other purchases I made. read more

My experience visiting the nursery for plants, flowers and Christmas trees has always been positive. But I recently tried to set-up an appointment to receive a quote for landscaping at our home and had a negative experience. Booking the appointment was easy, but the day of, no one showed. When I called, I got voicemail. A few days later I got a call back with a poor excuse. I went ahead and rebooked. Again, no show. I never bothered to even call and never heard from them either. Every experience I've had with Silverbrook Nursery has been completely wonderful! Last yea we purchased our Christmas tree there and it was so fresh it literally lasted weeks longer than other trees we have purchased in the past! Even after 2 weeks on vacation for Christmas, we came home to a beautiful smelling, healthy tree; absolutely impressive! And this is the second Spring we purchase flowers from them, and their flowers are high quality, and the staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful! They have wonderful customer service and go above and beyond! My husband and I recently had a special butterfly garden project in mind and went straight to Silverbrook for help - they took time to educate us on the best flowers and shrubs for our garden. These guys are great! We had a severe flooding problem and was told by other landscaping companies that we needed to spend thousands of dollars to dig out half of our yard and re-do drainage. Jerry and Tom from Silverbrook came out to assess the problem and quickly determined that the issue was that runoff from the street was too much for our existing drainage to handle. All they had to do was add some dirt and mulch to the front of the yard and increase the hump in the driveway, and it solved the problem. The total cost was much less and it didn't involve tearing out half of our yard either! read more

WORST Customer Service ever. I was referred to Silverbrook from one of their previous customers. After completing an on-line inquiry in March 2017, I was contacted a few days later to have the owner, Aaron come and provide an estimate. Aaron promised an estimate within 5 days, as I shared with him that I'd like to start the work ASAP should the estimate and recommended materials look good to me. I called and emailed Aaron, the owner, several times and he did not return calls/emails. Finally a month later, when I got him on the phone, he told me he changed his mind about the project (because he wanted to use more expensive materials and labor), and he'd get a quote to me that week - It is May now, still haven't heard from him. And he was RUDE over the phone.... Unless you have a $10,000 project, or greater, in my experience, Silvebrook has shown they are not interested in smaller jobs. The fact that he wouldn't return calls when I wanted to do business with him, leads me to believe that they wouldn't call after they earned my business and I paid for their work. I'd never recommend this company. read more
