A year and a half ago we hired a landscape designer from Meadows Farms to replace a paver patio and…read morebuild stone walls around it. We are retirees and tired of fighting with weeds between the pavers. I made it clear to the designer we wanted to do this to eliminate the constant weeding. Fast forward to today after returning from a three week vacation. We arrived home to 8" weeds and tiny ones in all the spaces. The "polymer" they place between the stones was supposedly going to harden but not crack with freezing and heating. Unfortunately, this is no better than the sand we had between our old pavers. I now have to spend hour weeding which pulls up the polymer with the weeds. The other option is to spray our patio with Round Up! We host family gatherings with grandchildren where we don't want them exposed to very harmful chemicals. I wish I could add photos to this review. We are very sorry we were sold this product. Do not make the same mistake.

Staffs are friendly and knowledgeable, and they carry some of the more common cultivars of Alocasia, Ficus, Philodendron and other Aroids. If you know, you know. As with most nurseries, the indoor tropical plants and succulents are displayed inside the vicinity. There's a small greenhouse across the main building where you can find some of the larger indoor plants. Outdoor in the back, you can find annuals and other seasonal plants. In the summer, they occasionally have succulents out in the back as well. FYI-- If you're loyal a plant parent, who tends to frequently shop for plant supplies, make a rewards card!

In fact, it seems that aside from their young trees, their focus is on smaller plants which makes sense due to the limited space. I do appreciate that they offer young trees and have a good selection of hydrangeas in the spring. They have a good selection of hydrangea trees. The customer service is generally OK. Overall a good experience and I will continue to visit.

They're also incredibly informative and helpful. I recently purchased some herbs from Ed's and their team meets you at the entrance to try to guide and assist you. It's a nice touch. Once you move on to the area where the herbs are, other folks will assist you there as well. Additionally, the selection of herbs is superior and more varied than what you'd find in the nearby home stores. Ed's also carries a ton of flowers - fortunately they are around to answer questions because the selection can be overwhelming. Bottom line: there is no better place in the area for landscape that beats Ed's. Even for Christmas trees or herbs.

We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. My partner and I were looking to get our sod done in April 2025. We stopped by Lake Ridge Nursery…read more(after Lowes and Home Depot), who happened to be almost 3X the amount. After speaking with the lady up front (I believe it was the owner Donny's wife, but not 100% sure) she talked us into using their services because she convinced us that their sod was locally grown and they had expert installers. We spend almost $1,000.00 and they came by the next week. Everything seemed to be ok after they left, but less than a month later, the sod stared to brown. MULTIPLE requests (including text messages, phone calls and visits to the store) and months later Donny finally agreed to replace the sod. NO notification that they were coming, I got a knock on my door the last day of October (7 MONTHS later) they were there to replace the sod. In the middle of the guys replacing the sod, Donny (the owner) literally pulled up in front of my house, got out and screamed in front of my entire neighborhood how he didn't think my sod actually needed to be replaced and to "never effing call him again" (Yes I have it all on video if anyone is interested). After an altercation, he trespassed me from his store. Nice way to deal with a customer that only wanted to get what he paid almost 3X what he should have from a local business.
