As with most nurseries, the indoor tropical plants and succulents are displayed inside the vicinity. There's a small greenhouse across the main building where you can find some of the larger indoor plants. Outdoor in the back, you can find annuals and other seasonal plants. In the summer, they occasionally have succulents out in the back as well. FYI-- If you're loyal a plant parent, who tends to frequently shop for plant supplies, make a rewards card!

In fact, it seems that aside from their young trees, their focus is on smaller plants which makes sense due to the limited space. I do appreciate that they offer young trees and have a good selection of hydrangeas in the spring. They have a good selection of hydrangea trees. The customer service is generally OK. Overall a good experience and I will continue to visit.

There are online native plant emporiums and one can surely find a few natives at the standard plant nurseries, however this place has the widest selection. And they only have native plants for sale. Upon entering you might not think you are in the right place. Most immediately you see soccer fields and public garden plots. Keep on going. You are about to discover one of the DMV's best kept secrets. There's a small tent where the sales are made and staff are available to direct you. You can borrow a wheelbarrow if you're buying a lot. The plants are arranged by letter and number labeled signs. There's a catalogue of sorts on their web page which will show you which row the plant you need is located in. The web page also has current prices. Right now quart pots are $8 each and gallon pots are $20 each for non members. One thing I will say is that it helps to research what the plant will look like when it's mature before purchasing. Most of the plants are quite small to start with but because they are native plants they do take off over time.

They have seemingly every pumpkin and gourd one could imagine, from the perfectly round classics to the wonderfully odd little varieties that look destined for a harvest-themed centrepiece. There is plenty to wander around and see, and everyone working there is consistently kind, helpful, and happy to point you in the right direction. Beyond the pumpkins, they have loads of fresh produce, prepared foods, snacks, and products from local companies. It genuinely feels like you could walk in with no dinner plan whatsoever and leave with everything needed to cook an entire meal. The animals are another charming part of the experience and make the visit feel like more than just a shopping trip. Between the seasonal displays, local goodies, produce, and friendly atmosphere, Nalls is a thoroughly lovely neighborhood stop and one of my favourite places to visit in autumn.

When I arrived, the first two people I encountered provided positive customer service, including taking me to the location where the locally-sourced honey is situated in the store (not just pointing to the general area). The other thing I found helpful was that when a team member didn't have an answer to my question, they were willing to defer to a team member who had more knowledge about what I was looking for. This is where Veronica or Victoria (I'm not quite sure of her name, other than the fact that it begin with a V) comes into frame. She also seemed to be sympathetic to the fact that I was not feeling well and was looking for something to help in the healing process. We need more of this in the world. That's not even Alexandria County...it's actually Fairfax County. Either way, it was worth the drive because I was able to find what I was looking for. However, had I known the drive would take it as long as it did, I would've probably done it on an early Saturday morning and spent a little more time to explore all of the other interesting items I saw. We attempted to remove some ourselves but were quickly overwhelmed by the task. I researched native plant landscapers and came across Swamp Rose Co-op. After reaching out, Jeff, one of the owners, came to do a site visit. He was thorough in his presentation of plans and this February we had them come and do bamboo removal and plant some native trees and shrubs to act as a privacy screen. The Swamp Rose team was amazing! They pulled out over 2 tons of bamboo and roots! They planted native trees and shrubs which are thriving. Our backyard woodland meadow dreams are coming true. We have the team coming back in a few weeks to rip out the standard plants seen in the Silver Spring area (liriope, lilies, weeds) to replace with a native garden and we can't wait. One of my favorite aspects of this company is it is a co-op. The employees can be owners, and those who aren't are still paid a living wage as calculated by the MIT living wage calculator. They do excellent work! It is hard to find a native landscaper but this team is fantastic.

I found Middle Atlantic and decided to see what was available and so glad I did! The staff was extremely helpful, offered suggestions on flower choice, and gave advice on the life of each of the flowers we choose. Not only were the flowers I choose beautiful, but the entire selection...from fillers to roses and orchids to calla lilies. We purchased fillers, roses, baby's breath and mini calla lilies on Thursday and the flowers still look healthy today (6 days later, different temperatures, and through 3 car rides). My partner and I were looking to get our sod done in April 2025. We stopped by Lake Ridge Nursery…read more(after Lowes and Home Depot), who happened to be almost 3X the amount. After speaking with the lady up front (I believe it was the owner Donny's wife, but not 100% sure) she talked us into using their services because she convinced us that their sod was locally grown and they had expert installers. We spend almost $1,000.00 and they came by the next week. Everything seemed to be ok after they left, but less than a month later, the sod stared to brown. MULTIPLE requests (including text messages, phone calls and visits to the store) and months later Donny finally agreed to replace the sod. NO notification that they were coming, I got a knock on my door the last day of October (7 MONTHS later) they were there to replace the sod. In the middle of the guys replacing the sod, Donny (the owner) literally pulled up in front of my house, got out and screamed in front of my entire neighborhood how he didn't think my sod actually needed to be replaced and to "never effing call him again" (Yes I have it all on video if anyone is interested). After an altercation, he trespassed me from his store. Nice way to deal with a customer that only wanted to get what he paid almost 3X what he should have from a local business.
