Nice causal no-frills cafe with breakfast items and Indian fare for lunch/dinner, with plenty of vegan options. We were looking for a vegan-friendly breakfast in this area, and this was one of the only places we could find. We each ordered a coffee ($3.50) and a bagel with vegan egg and vegan Swiss cheese ($9). The coffee was decent and came in a massive mug. The bagel was solid too. Nothing too fancy but delivered what it set out to do, and the man serving us was helpful and quick despite seemingly running a one-man operation. Good spot. Recommended. read more

(They just need to open one in Sherwood Park now!) I've always loved the the chai drinks they create here, and the food is dang delicious! My favourite food item is the butter chicken - nice mild spice with still a ton flavour, moist tasty chicken pieces and plenty of naan bread that satiates the hunger My favourite chai drinks are Kashmiri, Vanilla Rooibos & Badamee Mixing up the different milk used gives it slightly different flavour profiles too! Remedy Café was ok. If you're already in the area and you want to meet someone for coffee then Remedy isn't a bad choice. Is it good enough to go out of your way or to take someone someplace special? No. Probably not. My chai latte was better than average when compared to a place like Starbucks - and easy 4 stars. Is the best I've ever had? No, but it is definitely better than most. It seemed pretty clear to me that they truly care about the quality of their product. The quality of service wasn't quite as good and would rate as a two-star below average experience. It's not that the staff was rude or lazy, they were civil, but indifferent, to the customer. Making you feel welcome, showing joy in service, and taking pride in their work were all noticeably missing. Who knows? Maybe they all just went through some terrible tragedy the day before. All I know was that you couldn't buy a smile for a hundred dollars the day I was there. The quality of the atmosphere was also a two-star experience - definitely below average. It was quite evident that this *used* to be a trendy little coffee shop, but the years have not been kind and the place has not been well-maintained. Little things like holes in the walls, chips in the paint, mis-matched light bulbs, mis-matched chairs, and worse than average level of cleanliness indicate that creating a good environment to share a cup with a friend has not been a high priority here. Overall Remedy Café was an ok experience. Better than average drinks in a worse than average environment. Not bad, but not awesome either. read more

Overpriced, sub-par, and always crowded with no place to sit- even at 8pm! It's constantly filled with high school students "studying" at all hours. I frequented this location back when I was a wee high schooler myself and it has gone downhill drastically throughout the years. Service is standard as per usual. Not overly friendly but they won't ignore you either. The chai is now sickly sweet and I wonder how much sugar or syrup they add to it. It was once filled with flavour with the right amount of spice but you can only taste a mouthful of sweetness. The iced drinks are nothing but an insult where the cup is filled 3/4 with ice and if you ask for light ice, you'll get a look while they end up handing it to you with 3/4 ice anyway. The cake slices here are a joke. I paid $7 for a small sliver of grocery store cake. It's alright. It's a typical cheesecake. Nothing special. The samosas are okay priced but they are incredibly bland and dry. If you like taking a bite into a plain potato, give these a try! The only thing that I would maybe come back for would be the butter chicken wrap. No, it's not real butter chicken but man, is it tasty. It has a lot of mayo and is flavoured with a variety of spices. However, the price is nothing to scoff at. It's pricey! I've come back every now and again for nostalgia hoping it would get better but it hasn't. Farewell Remedy, you played a big part in my high school career but I've moved onto better. read more

I love this location! Reminds me so much of being secluded in the mountains because of the beautiful surrounding homes. I have been to all of the locations and the only problem I have with the Remedy Cafés are because of their overcrowding - this one is out of the downtown grind, and there is always somewhere to sit. I've always been a big fan of the Remedy chain so I was excited to find out they have a location on the south side of Edmonton. I came here for a group meeting and it was the perfect place to strategize. Even though there is plenty of seating, it is still fairly quiet in here. It's really good with our tea we order called the woman uma so good with a little bit of honey. Definitely a great wrap up for a night when you have good tea and great cheesecake. They have SO many vegan and halal foods, I tried the butter chicken and a chicken wrap that I don't remember the name of oops. It has the coolest decor and you get to chill there for as long as you want while studying and doing such, it's pretty quite so it's perfect for students. I'd rate the food 10/10. It's perfect. Ordered lunch from here for pickup through their app. When I came home - I realized that one of the meals was incorrect. I called them and told them this - and they told me that they would make the correct meal and that I could pick it up. I told them it wasn't feasible for me to drive all the way back there for this purpose. The lady said that she would leave a note on the number that I was to get a replacement meal next time. I asked her to just refund the cost of the incorrect meal and I was told that she couldn't because I "ordered through the app." I asked what that had to do with anything and was told that they couldn't refund orders placed in the app (?). App-orderers, you're warned. Anyway - I said - fine, put the replacement meal on the phone number. I asked if there was any information that I needed to tell the person next time I came in. She indicated that there was not. A few weeks later - my wife goes in and tells them about the replacement meal, and they have no clue what she's talking about. It was under her number, by the way. She tells them all about my previous conversation, and they seem puzzled and apparently there's no record of it. Fantastic. After some back and forth - they reluctantly honour the replacement meal. I'd probably be inclined to give 1 star for the antics - but the food itself is fantastic and they have a lot of gluten free options. And - despite the shenanigans with the meal - they did honour what was agreed upon. read more

I love remedy and love that there's a location in Terwillegar as it's so handy for people that live in the neighbourhood. Their coffee is so good! I really enjoy their wraps, I usually go for the green chilli chicken one as it's absolutely delicious. Nice little spice to it, also very filling! I've also had the butter chicken one and it's very good too! Their cakes are sensational, I usually have to get it for take out though as the wraps are so big. The drip coffee is awful, and the Americano (which are my favourite) are really sour and watery. And the lattes taste like sugar-water. WAY too overpriced for a coffee or latte in my opinion for the taste and quality. The wraps are really oily (and heads up- super messy!). Overpriced for the quality of food and drinks. 1 sugary-water latte = $6-7. The workers *every time* have been rude and tables are never cleaned or wiped off. Never encountered a worker who was friendly. They all come off impatient or cold. Also, the tables are super close together so although I like the 'hipster' atmosphere to hang out, don't go there if you want to have deep convos - everyone in the cafe can hear you conversation! Love the concept of this cafe that serves Indian food, desserts and made to order tea, coffee and milkshakes. In particular I like that they have a huge selection of loose leaf tea to choose from. I ordered a pot of herbal tea and it was lovely except it was served in a metal pot and cup and the cup was too hot to hold once the hot tea was poured in (lol). I also ordered samosas and chicken Chana with rice. The food was decent, a solid 3 stars which i wouldn't really expect more from a cafe. The portions were huge so I took half home. The location itself is large with ample seating. It was warm and cozy inside. On a weekday it was mostly people on their own tinkering on computers and a couple parents with babies. Nice and quiet. On the way out I ordered a chai tea latte to go, with almond milk, and I have to admit it was horrible. Didn't taste like chai and it was bitter. Service was great though, super friendly. I have been supporting remedy for years now. As I changed my diet to vegan whenever I order from this location they always seem to mess up my vegan order. This past month I have ordered a vegan butter chicken and they messed it up and I got REAL chicken. I ordered it just before close so by the time I got home to eat it, they were closed. Very disappointing. I also ordered the vegan egg and Swiss bagel this month and they also messed it up. Mayo was everywhere on the bagel. Not even lightly so I couldn't try to take it off. I have loved remedy but these mess ups are frustrating. Workers there need to understand what vegetarian and vegan means. The kitchen needs to be more careful with orders like these especially if people have allergies. read more

I love this location smartly situated in a somewhat new development. Our favourite is the Kashmiri chai -- best tea in the world, in my opinion! Ground pistachios, dry rose petals and a process, I learned, takes three days to make. I would recommend this place to people who loves Pakistani/Indian food. Unfortunately, I'm not one of them. My friend suggested I try their buttered chicken, which I did, and honestly was just OK. I even thought it was a fried chicken cooked with butter lol, but no, it was chicken with tomato sauce and butter i guess. Indian/Pakistani fusion food. Best featured is Kashmiri Chai- tend to get that often. I have been to the other locations so today - finally- after a long wait - it's in my neighborhood. Large dining area and has an outdoor patio. Colorful design and appears more as a collective communal work space and a pace to socialize. Can't go wrong with the food. I had the Keema Wrap and Kashmiri chai- gave them specific orders for my chai and it didn't seem an issue. Gal at the register was pleasant and quiet. Long line up but manageable with a steady flow. I find the other Remedy cafe have similar pace to them. You should expect to wait otherwise you would be very disappointed. Food is fresh and not fast food so waiting is worth it. Many choices and can be overwhelming- so if in a rush- look up online prior to going (tip). My background is Indian and I always say nothing can compare to my moms cooking - however - Remedy does come close . Great for individuals, dates, families. Stay in or take out. It's busy - all the time so there's no advice from moi on when to actually go. Wraps cost 10$ but pretty much full- filling ! Happy it finally opened up in my neighborhood.
