a cup of cappuccino and a plate of waffles

Awake Coffeehouse has been open for awhile and finally came back recently. A unique concept where it's a cafe and pharmacy all in one place. The atmosphere is bright, clean and friendly. It's a peaceful spot to catch up on some work, study or have coffee dates. There are sweet and savoury waffles to choose from. Mint Strawberry Waffle $12.50- A waffle that comes with fresh mint leaves, strawberries, whipping cream and condensed milk drizzle. It was a refreshing yummy waffle that wasn't too sweet Plain Waffle $10.50- It is served with berry compote and chocolate hazelnut dip. A simple waffle that is a great light snack Seasonal Pumpkin Spice Latte $6.50 and Matcha Latte $6.50- Pretty normal drinks but nothing mind blowing The prices have increased compared to previous years. Their bubble waffles are now available everyday instead of just on the weekends.

Nice access off the highway to this little coffee house - very clean as inside a pharmacy ! Really great coffee, quiet atmosphere with just the right level of music Plug in and work or just have a break !

Avocado and egg bubble waffle. So yum!

A cute neighbourhood coffee shop with plants of tables to sit. They have a nice selection of hot drinks and baked goods. I tried the spicy and feta croissant and it was delish. Also had the lavender and honey latte. It was pretty tasty. You may try it. They also seek these cute little handmade cards. The pharmacy is in the same store too which is a bit weird but hey what do I know. Today I tried their bubble waffle. It was pretty tasty. The waffle bit was light and not too sweet. I would have liked a bit more egg and less avocado though

Its awesome to have a great little coffee shops close by! Although it's not close enough for me to walk to, I can see how nice it would be for those who live within walking distance to take a nice stroll when weather is nice and have a coffee break here! Met up with a friend on a weekday morning. It wasn't packed but had enough traffic to generate a positive energy. There were a few people just sitting by themselves doing some readings, a group of ladies gathering at the bit long table, and a few groups of people hanging what looked like business meetings. There was just enough noise to make it comfortable to chat without worrying if we were disturbing others! The space is bright and has ample seatings. Easy parking and friendly staff are always a plus. I ordered a large latte, which was much bigger than what you would get at most other places. The coffee was good and they had a good selection of baked goods. I got a Danish but was too busy talking that by the time I took my first bite, it was a bit cold so it wouldn't be fair for me to comment on the pastry other than it was crispy! I don't believe the pastries are made in house but it's always nice to have some food options with your coffee! They also serve flatbreads, which I'm interested in trying next time. My friend ordered the lavender and honey latte, which sounded really good except she said it was too sweet for her. But for those that prefer a sweeter beverage, it sounds like a tasty choice!

Went on a cafe crawl and made it over to the south side to check this place out - and was not disappointed. It's bright, spacious an I'm a fan of the subtle shades of grey in the decor. One side is the pharmacy (which is attached to a clinic, I believe) with shelves in the back with a few products for sale, lots of tables and sitting space, and then the coffee bar on the other side. The service was incredibly friendly - and I was able to pick up a few bags of coffee and boxes of Jacek chocolates for the last of my Christmas shopping. The baked goods looked yummy, but I didn't get a chance to try it. I had a cappuccino and an ice water with lots of fresh slices of lemon. Coffee was nice and hot and tasted very good. I totally wish my pharmacy had a coffee shop attached to it now. What a great idea!

There's a special place in my heart for great, local coffee shops. And it gets even more special when it's within a 5 minute drive of home. Located on 111 street just across from Twin Brooks, Awake Coffee House is an overdue addition to the area. The space is simply beautiful. Bright, spacious, lots of seating. I had a good chuckle seeing it was a shared space with a pharmacy. If coffee doesn't happen to be strong enough for you, just walk on over to the other side for something to lace your drink with (I kid, I kid!). But seriously, I inquired and the pharmacists own the coffee shop and my coffee was even made by one of the pharmacists. Not as complex and some concoctions they have to mix up, but it was definitely delicious. The beans served here are from Drumroaster Coffee in BC. There is a delicious assortment of pastries that are made locally with organic ingredients. Danishes, banana bread, croissants, and more. And something I will definitely try next time are they house made lemonades that included lavender and rose flavours. I'm just so thrilled there is such a lovely coffee shop in Southwest Edmonton.

Awake Coffeehouse is a cute cafe located by Twin Brooks in southside Edmonton. It is actually part of a pharmacy, a very hip and modern one that is. The place is very easy to find (especially for someone who is directionally challenged aka me) as it is located right off the 111 Street exit on the Henday. Awake sells cafe drinks, baked goods, and on the weekends they offer bubble waffles, which was the main reason for my visit. It's a good place to study, do work, or catch up with a friend because there is ample seating available. They also have a cute aesthetic for Insta photos, minus the medicine in the background depending on where you are sitting! It was actually my second visit here. My first visit was a year ago when I tried the chai latte, which I wasn't a fan of. This time, I saw that they had matcha lattes so that was my choice. I really enjoyed it because it was delicious and creamy! They used matcha that was imported from Japan. It was rich in flavour but it wasn't overly bitter. My friend got the London Fog which she said was creamy and frothy, but nothing special. Every weekend (Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays), Awake serves freshly made bubble waffles. They have a variety of combinations to choose from, both savoury and sweet. For savoury waffles, there is BEG (bacon, egg, guacamole) and spicy chicken. For sweet waffles, there is cookies & cream, pina colada, and mint strawberry. If you are feeling simple then you can choose to go for a plain waffle served with berry compote and choco-hazelnut sauce. My friend and I decided to share a cookies & cream bubble waffle when we came here. It was filled with a good amount of vanilla cream custard and Oreo pieces. The bubble waffle itself was made with egg and was very fluffy. I'm usually not a fan of custard but I liked the one that was in the waffle. It wasn't overly sweet and since it was more of a cream, it wasn't too heavy. The vanilla custard cream tasted really good with the Oreo! Both of us agreed that we really liked it. I also had one of their savoury waffles all to myself because I was feeling a little hungry. I tried their BEG bubble waffle which was stuffed with bacon, egg, and guacamole. It was also made with a homemade tomato sauce that tasted like pizza sauce and paired well with everything else. Everything about this waffle was delicious! After eating this waffle and half of the cookies & cream one, I was full for sure. If I lived closer to Awake Coffeehouse, I would probably go there more often. It's a great cafe to go to with a nice atmosphere and delicious bubble waffles. Their drinks seem to be a hit or miss but I recommend trying one of the matcha lattes if you stop by.

    Chai latte and drip coffee

Great neighbourhood coffee shop! Very surprised at how spacious and bright it was inside and shares the space with a pharmacy as well. Went on a Monday morning and it was quiet and the person working was very helpful. Good place to try bubble waffles although they only make them on Friday's Saturday's and Sunday's. This summer they partnered with Yelo'd and are doing ice cream bubble waffles every day though so I was lucky to be able to try the mango! Had a drip coffee and my friend had a chai latte and we stayed and chatted for hours. They have stamp cards for loyalty as well and I'll definitely go back since I live in the neighbourhood.

    pina colada waffle, the best!

Literally the best pina colada waffle I have ever had! The waffle is not too sweet, perfect match to my coffee. Service is great as well. Be ware this coffee shop is located inside a pharmacy.

The Pina Colada Waffle - best one for sure

another hidden cafe gem in Edmonton close to the high level bridge…read more It's a cool cafe that looks like a house from the outside.

Oh. Em. Squeal!!!!!…read more First off, mad props to my friend for introducing me to this charming new addition to the coffee scene. Stop Gap opened just under a month ago in Oliver. They describe themselves as a temporary (stop gap) means to filling a need - coffee - served with an intentional and caring heart. Caleb Kam, the owner, is warm and inviting. He definitely knows his coffee. You may know him from his former life at Brown Butter Cafe. Caleb focuses on Canadian, fresh, and local! I spotted Ace and Candid today (Edmonton gems). The clientele were sweet and happy to offer up their faves! Nathan, a regular, told me Caleb is the go to for the best pour over in town. I opted for a Dirty Chai - made to perfection and my friend had a oat milk chai complete with milk art adorning the top. Both beverages were perfection. Coffee can be consumed in house complete with adorable coasters (el gato was my fave naturally, meow) or taken to go. For seating, there is a cute bench against the window front and a side room available if not booked. Caleb also had fresh donuts from Fuzion in Chinatown. My friend and I shared the cake and Cinnamon bun donut today. Sooo ridiculously good. Be sure to check Fuzion out online - they don't have a storefront so you will need to order in advance if you are looking to up your donut game at your next office meeting. I seriously can't wait to come back here again! Oh and they also have a beautiful meeting space available for rent on the main floor in case you want to bring your next staff meeting to the best coffee in town! Such a true pleasure meeting you today, Caleb! Stop Gap is exactly what YEG needs!
