Avoid! I want to explicitly state that Papona and Nurlan were great! They were professional and efficient, but the company they work for, "Reliable Movers," was a complete nightmare to deal with. Avoid them at all costs. First, they arrived earlier than requested. When I called dispatch to sort out the schedule mishap, the dispatcher completely escalated the situation. She refused to listen, threw a tantrum screaming "Don't scream on me!", hung up on me, and refused to take my calls. Instead, she sent unprofessional text messages about her feelings rather than actually assisting a paying customer. Worse, the original mover, Sean, showed an appalling lack of respect and communication. I explicitly asked him not to touch a box containing my father's ashes. He ignored me, picked up the urn, and tossed it into a box like a common vase. When I stepped in to take the urn into my own possession, Sean defensively snapped, "We can cancel this move," walked off the job, and drove home--leaving my belongings sitting in his truck in the middle of the street. This company is entirely disorganized. Every manager I spoke to had no clue who I was or what was happening. Furthermore, their pricing is incredibly predatory. They advertise as a full packing service but nickel-and-dime you for everything (charging extra for boxes and travel). Worst of all, they demand a ridiculous 10% surcharge if you pay via Zelle or Venmo. To put that in perspective: standard business transaction fees for these apps are only around 1.9% to 3.5%. By charging 10%, they are pocketing a massive markup as pure profit or using it as a bullying tactic to force cash payments. For example, on a $1,000 move, a legitimate business fee would be around $19, but they are forcing customers to pay $100. Management eventually sent Papona and Nurlan to rescue the job, and they did a wonderful job. However, two good employees cannot make up for a company that treats customers with utter disrespect and employs shady financial tactics. Save yourself the stress and avoid this company at all costs. Though I like Papona, I didn't appreciate him asking for a tip. He even asked for my number to follow up on the tip. Tips are courtesy not mandatory. read more

They damaged our walls, ruined our dresser, chipped another wooden dresser, and damaged a rack--then denied responsibility for the dresser damage. They also stopped our paid moving time to take a lunch break and tried to charge us for it. We only caught them after seeing one of the workers with a cup, and they eventually admitted it. Then they pressured us into leaving a 5-star review while standing over us. We deleted it and posted our real experience. When we filed a complaint, the owner eventually stopped responding altogether. Damaged our property, wasted our time, denied responsibility, pressured us into a fake review, and then ignored our complaint. Completely unacceptable. Great experience with RMS for a local move, specifically Addie's team! I was able to get them booked with very little notice for a really fair rate, and the guys arrived right on time. They treated our items with care, were polite and professional, adeptly managed a few challenges along the way, and completed the move within three hours despite two stops, two sets of stairs, some narrow door/pathways, and assembly of a bed. The quoted price came in to the penny, as well. Would definitely use them again, and certainly recommend them. Thanks for the great move, guys! One point to mention is that you will likely be straight up asked for a tip, so prepare for that. In our case, we planned to do it anyway (especially given that we'd asked them to move us from two different locations), and had the cash ready, but if we had been caught off guard, it would've been awkward all around. One other thing to be prepared for is that the only way to avoid a fee is to pay cash. I thought that 10% fee for online payment meant if we used a credit card online, but it apparently meant any payment that wasn't cash in hand. Fortunately, I'd taken out cash just in case, but again: if i hadn't been prepared, that would've sucked. I'm not knocking a star off for either of these things, though, because overall it was a perfect experience, and although they easily could have dawdled JUST enough for us to end up paying for an extra hour, they wrapped it up with ten minutes to spare, which given the details of the move, was definitely some hustling on their part. read more

DO NOT BOOK THIS COMPANY! We would had rather injured ourselves moving our own things rather than deal with the nightmare that this company caused our family. We hired 4 movers to move our 3 bedroom home 0.3 miles away within the same neighborhood. We have moved many times, so we pre-packed and prepared our items to make the process quick and efficient. Instead, we were sent 4 incompetent, lazy, arrogant movers that spent nearly 12 hours to move 2 couches, 1 patio set, 3 beds, and 2 dressers. When they were approached about their lack of urgency, they became defensive and threatened to stop the move and just leave. Then theyhad the nerve to ask us to go to the store and buy them FOUR 16 oz Red Bull "sugar free please" (as if that would have made them move faster, and meanwhile they littered our property with water bottles that we went out of our way to purchase for them because it was hot. They broke my disabled son's futon, then boxed him in (literally) where he could not leave the room and then went on a 1 hr 15 min lunch. He was so upset he called me crying saying "they locked me in!" They dissembled furniture, never reassembled it; damaged several items, and did not even compete the job and then just LEFT after they demanded payment or they would keep our items because it was past 6pm. If you would have actually done your job, you wouldn't be working loaded 6pm! They didn't even complete the job or say that they were officially done. They just LEFT and abandoned our things. Unassembled, broken,... and not in the locations we asked them to move them to. I have moved countless times in my life and I have never been treated with such disrespect for my time and property. Not to mention being charged $1605 and still have to hire movers to move my heavy items to my upstairs because they dumped it in my living room and left. They smoked the entire time, stood around staring at things, smelled strongly of WEED, and have cost us an unreasonable amount of money in damages. Why does it take 4 men 30 minutes to wrap 1 TV? You're padding the clock and ripping people off that's why. Why am I moving my own things while you ask are standing around staring at the inside of a truck? We demanded to speak to a supervisor several times and they kept giving us reasons why they couldn't. Dispatch claims to have called the supervisor, but said since it was Saturday they were busy and no one would call us. Unacceptable! Reliable? This company is a joke. What can I say, these guys showed up on less than 24 hours notice unpacked four storage units (1 massive and 3 standard) and loaded them into what I refer to as the amazing wizarding of Harry Potter truck. Seriously I don't know how they got all my stuff into it! They are box Tetris wizards! I have some weird things beside boxes of books and clothes... props from Marvel and Star Wars productions and even a fiberglass zombie all handled with care. More like Unreliable Moving Services - a total letdown. Our experience with this company was extremely disappointing from start to finish. We booked an arrival window from 2PM to 5PM, yet the movers didn't show up until 5:40PM. The main mover coordinating with us turned out to be a college freshman, clearly inexperienced and unprepared for the job. It was immediately apparent that this was not the professional service their website falsely advertises--no uniforms, no professionalism, and definitely not the team shown in their promotional photos. The crew claimed they were exhausted from a previous move, which supposedly justified their slow and lethargic performance. It took them 3.5 hours just to load our furniture, a task that should've been far more efficient. For reference, the exact same set of furniture took only 3 hours total--including drive time--during our last move. During the final hour of loading, I had to step in and start carrying pieces myself just to get things moving. Their excuse? They blamed the elevator, claiming the door kept closing. Yet, there were no issues with the elevator during our move-in, nor when I used it that same night when I was moving my own furniture. Anyone who's used an elevator knows that if something blocks the door, it stays open--a basic fact they either didn't understand or deliberately ignored to waste time. And conveniently, this company charges by the hour--so it felt like the crew was doing everything they could to drag out the job and inflate our bill. To top it off, they didn't even complete the move. Our couch was left behind. The mover's excuse? He claimed my husband said we weren't taking it. In reality, my husband said it didn't need to be wrapped because we planned to discard it--not leave it behind. Either they weren't listening, or they were trying to cover up yet another mistake. As if that weren't enough, they didn't bring basic tools to disassemble and reassemble furniture--a standard expectation for any moving company. In short: this company was unprofessional, unreliable, and completely unprepared. We were overcharged for a job that was poorly executed and only partially completed. I found this company on Thumbtack and they actually ended up coming to help me out last minute. I was in talks with another moving company who didn't respond to me the day of the move, so I reached out to this company and they were able to come within a few hours. Overall they were great, but they were pretty pricey given I was only moving less than 7 miles and I didn't have much to move. They charge a min of 3 hours at $119 and you have to pay $50 deposit which covers their gas (mind you, we only went less than 7 miles). The two guys that helped me out, Sam and Tulga, were amazing. They were so fast, got everything up and out flawlessly and moved everything inside my new place in the same manner. read more

I've moved 4 times in the past 4 years and I have never experienced such horrible service. I understand there is a minimum requirement for moving for them to make their quota. The move was from an apartment to another apartment. There should be absolutely no reason for 4 men to take 5 hours to empty one apartment that was already packed up ready to go. Not to mention, it took them another hour to get to the new apartment that is only 10-15 minutes away depending on traffic. As they got to the new apartment only two men were moving boxes in one box at a time , making the process even longer. I don't know what rules or regulations they have at this company but it's not acceptable as I shouldn't be responsible paying for services that could've been completed in half the time. read more

Last year we used Reliable Moving Services and they turned out to be terrible in the end. At our new house at 1am we thought and was told everything had been moved. The guys kept sticking around outside. I called the owner and was told they were waiting for tips. I told him I had no cash on me and he seemed upset. He also wanted final payment and told me I could pay the tips to him. I told him I needed to drive to the old house because I wanted to make sure everything was done. He continued to get upset and insisted I pay now. I refused and drove to the other house telling him I was only 15 minutes away; which he knew. When I arrived, not everything had been moved. Items had been left in the garage and they had left their coke cans and pizza boxes everywhere. There was a mess in the laundry room too. I shared very specific instructions with them that, ideally I would like all of my belongings in only 1 of the U-Haul Boxes/Pods, and they managed to make it happen in such a timely matter. The only criticism I would give is that while I was busy packing and taping up boxes in my place, at one point I heard my metal workout sled fall onto the cement and it received scratches all on the bottom. My issue is with the business owner, not the movers. The problem first started when the movers showed up with a pickup truck instead of a moving truck. I was completely shocked. A job that should have taken less than 3 hours took almost 6 hours because we had to make 2 trips (almost 3). I had to pay double because they didn't provide a proper moving truck. When I raised this issue with the moving company, the business owner told me that their moving truck broke down that morning, so they had to send the pickup truck. Customer service is not at the top of the business owner's priorities, and it showed. It's clear he is not interested in retaining customers, which is a shame. People like me move every year so, so he's missing out on more moving jobs. On top of that, a lot of my stuff got damaged during the move. My entertainment center, my vanity and lamp were ruined. The business owner didn't really care. He offered to shave off half an hour of labor time, which isn't much. One of the guys even told me I can just glue it back together. Why should I have to glue my furniture back together?! The business owner is awful in the way he runs his business. I would go with a more reputable moving company if you want top tier customer service and your stuff intact. read more

They packed everything with wrapping paper, took apart everything and then put back everything together. They had equipment and tools and were careful taking things up stairs or delicate furniture.
