    Matcha Latte cold

I am a huge fan of anything matcha! I finally tried their Matcha Latte and it was delicious! Very smooth, not too sweet and creamy. A refreshing drink on a warm day. I will be back to try their soft serve ice cream!

** soft serve review ** Big time big back fan of releaf. It's been around since I was a kid and continues to have my favorite matcha soft serve. They also had a black sesame soft serve and asked if I could sample it before committing to it lol. Thankfully the staff member said I could have a sample and I decided to get the swirl (matcha and black sesame). This dessert spot also offers coffees, teas, and ice cream. It's located in the mitsuwa food court and I recommend saving room to try it! Even if your stomach is full, like mine was... I still found a way to find room for it =P

Great black, sesame and matcha ice cream. Very expensive but good. Long line of customers on a Sunday afternoon but worth the wait

This shop is in the food court of Mitsuwa market place right next to the curry spot. My husband and I love this place, and have tried almost every drink on the menu since moving to Schaumburg. We have liked every single drink that we tried although the yuzu is a little on the sweeter side for us when you get it cold. They also sell soft ice-cream in a cone or a bowl. I had the sesame and matcha swirl and it was delicious. Highly recommend stopping by.

I got lucky and there wasn't a line. Got the Yuzu Matcha and loved: (1) it doesn't have milk of any kind (2) clean flavors (3) it was just sweet enough (not overly so). Typically I prefer simpler beverages, either just matcha & water or matcha, water, and a little unsweetened soy milk. Quick and easy to place an order with the cashier. It's part of the food court in Mitsuwa so there's not much to say about the ambiance other than it's rad to be able to roam around picking up items from the different vendors. Definitely want to come back and try the soft serve.

Releaf is inside Mitsuwa's food court area. They make the best matcha lattes ever. I ordered the matcha latte soy boba and I will have to say it was the best boba/matcha latte I have ever had! I am honestly very particular about getting an authentic strong matcha latte and they hit the spot plus perfect little tapioca pearls. I literally crave this all the time so I can't wait for the next time I can go. Highly recommend trying them! :)

Their soft serve in matcha and black sesame flavors were both very very good. Matcha is a bit more bitter and the young kids don't like it as much but they all loved the black sesame flavor. Best in both around the area.

I've been trying to look a good matcha ice cream place in Chicago for the longest time and I FOUND IT! Releaf is located in the cutest Japanese marketplace, tucked away in the corner amid other restaurants. I got their Black Sesame and Matcha mixed soft serve on a cone. Honestly, there isn't much to say except that it was delicious. The quantity is really great, swirl was aesthetically pleasing to look at, and you can taste both the matcha and black sesame. The staff said that the soft serve is definitely stronger compared to the ice cream scoop. They do serve drinks during their normal operating hour, but after like 6/7pm, they only sell soft serve and ice cream after those times.

We always get drinks from here. Our family faves are matcha milkshake, matcha drink and milk tea. The boba is a baby size, which my kids love! It's easy to swallow, and there's no need to chew! You definitely need to go here when you're at Mitsuwa.

Line moved fast. The flavors of matcha and black sesame were perfect. Prices were inexpensive. Service was great.

Everytime I go inside mitsuwa marketplace, I always end my meal with their ice cream! I love their matcha soft serve. My friend decided to try their lychee scooped ice cream which surprisingly was so tasty. The flavor was a mix between in a natural flavor, but also candy like. The matcha parfait, we wished had more ice cream to pair with the many cake pieces throughout the cup. This is becaise the cake was a bit on the drier side as well as in addition to the red bean paste which can further dry the palate. Love the two cookie toppings for the crunch contrast and the mochi being super soft and chewy. Strawberries were a fresh addition to this sweet dessert!

(I wish they had a loyalty program or punch card of sorts for her because of her affinity to the store!) Last night, she had a taste for bubble tea so we took her after dinner and we had some pleasant surprises in our drink choices! My boyfriend got the Cookies and Cream milkshake with oat milk ('cause dairy) and it was thick, delicious, and had a strong ratio of milk to cookie in it. Last time my parents took my daughter, I tried a Coconut Purple Berry tea and added tapioca. It is tea, coconut milk, and like, chunks of guava--delicious. I can tell you my daughter's go to is a Taro Milkshake which is milk and taro blended--very delicious! The presentation is appealing--it looks like white clouds in a purple sky. Other drinks I have tried include their galaxy lemon tea, a sort of ocean lemonade (?), etc. My daughter also lives for their croffles--I know she has had matcha, tiramisu, plain, etc. Last night's choice was matcha and there was not a crumb left in the box. Ordering is easy on the kiosk, and the staff is quiet, but friendly. I have been there with different sized groups at different times of day, and the food, drinks, and service are always consistent. Sometimes it's packed, sometimes it's not. Driving back home, I wanted to yell at all the youths in that green siren logoed coffee shop to drink something better across the parking lot, but I did not. If you love Japanese culture, food, and want to visit a neat place and kind of feel like you are…read morevisiting Japan, you need to visit Mitsuwa! Not only is there a food court of different Japanese restaurants to try, there is also a grocery store, bakery, bookstore, and stores that sell ice cream, traditional desserts, as well as crepes and boba tea! My family and I visit here often every year and we like to try the different foods and desserts and then check out the bookstore and grocery store afterwards. My favorite foods so far have been the beef udon soup with a soft boiled egg, shrimp and vegetable tempura, miso soup, and Japanese curry with rice, beef, and vegetables (carrots and potatoes). My son always gets the chicken and beef on a stick and my daughter usually gets a garlic pork dish with white rice but I forget what this dish is called. My husband also enjoys the beef udon soup like I do. I swear that whenever my food is finished, I am legit sad! The crepes are good, there is a variety of boba teas to try, and the ice creams are delicious! Lychee has been my favorite so far but I have yet to try the matcha, red bean, among others! You can get a small sample of different ice cream flavors too, which is nice! I sampled the red bean flavor so that will be my go-to next time! At the grocery store, I love buying Happy Turn snacks which are like a sweet and salty crunchy cracker (maybe it is made of rice?) that are individually wrapped and mochi from the fridge area. Finally, I usually like to buy mochi from the store right next to the bookstore. The mochi from this location is the best! I usually buy multiple flavors to take home and eat at a later time! You must try these! My kids love checking out the bookstore and they usually pick something out for me to buy for them - whether it is a book, keychain, etc. There are magazines, anime figurines, soft plushy toys, pens, and stationary, etc. It is interesting to browse through the things they have there! You cannot bring food or drinks inside but they do have a shelf at the entrance where you can place your drink there if you like. The first time visiting here, the majority of the customers were Asians and as the years have passed, there is now more of an influx of non-Asians who simply love the food and appreciate the culture, which I think is neat! The first time I visited here was with my college roommate who was from Japan and she recommended this place back in 2009 perhaps? I have been visiting ever since with my family. We travel more than an hour from Wisconsin to come here but it is 100% worth the drive! Also, the cashiers and workers there are quick, efficient, and friendly. I have even been able to practice a few of the Japanese phrases I have learned with a couple of the cashiers too (I asked if they spoke Japanese first)! Overall, Mitsuwa is my happy place! Great food, interesting finds, different culture, and everyone there looks excited to be there. This is as close to visiting Japan as I can get until I keep learning more Japanese and save up enough money to go visit Japan someday! This is my dream! In the meantime, we will keep visiting Mitsuwa!
