Relaxed Nails & Spa is a relatively new establishment in the Westbard Shopping Center. It is another outlet of Acqua Nails (http://www.yelp.com/biz/acqua-nails-bethesda) with the same owners but has a different name for some reason. It is much smaller than the main Acqua Nails in the Little Falls Shopping Center. There are some differences in the manicure here with some extra fancy "spa" steps, including the rubbing of a slice of lemon on each nail (I'm not really sure the point of this and one time I think they even charged an extra dollar for it when I didn't even ask for this lemon thing...). Anyway, it's the same great service and staff of Acqua Nails and you'll come out with a perfect manicure! Probably a good idea to make an appointment just in case. read more

I've been here a few times and I've had an overall good experience. I have gotten my nails done and waxed with no problems. However, this time I was sorely disappointed. Hannah did my nails and eyebrow wax. The nails look great, but my eyes look like I was in a fight. It was completely unacceptable. I left and when I got to my car, I noticed and went back to complain and asked for my money back. I received a cut as well, didn't even bother to way sorry until I confronted her. When I did, she had the nerve to tell me that the reddened areas were already there. . I am now on antibiotics for this. I'll never go back. It's a shame because it's never too where my parents live. Moral of the story: don't get waxed here!!! read more

Sitting in my car typing this. Just paid $38 for the worst pedicure of my life. I felt the brush going all over my toes, they weren't even done in a particular order and layers were just added randomly. So uneven and horrible looking (see photo- that's not a glare- that's the uneven layer of polish) . The "cleanup" around the nails was done so haphazardly and I even asked at the end for it to be cleaned up again because there was still so much around my toes (see other photo). One toe there was a corner of polish missing. I was supposed to stay for a gel manicure and am leaving to go somewhere else. Horrible experience and can't believe how expensive it was. I've never left a bad review for anywhere but I am so upset after this. read more

This is probably the worst manicure i have ever gotten in my life. Never get them done by Kay. They were chatting between themselves all the time and she wasn't even looking when she was doing my nails. After I asked her various times to just shape them, she ended up filing them down A LOT. So I've had some good experiences here but today I booked a mani pedi with my daughter and her person was miserable - I think her name was Mindy. I don't think she tried to say a single word to my daughter and never cracked a smile. I've never had such a rude person and next time we'll go somewhere else. I'm sorry she hates her job! I'm so sad this was a bad experience because this place is on my way home from work and parking is no problem. I should've read the reviews before going to this place. I usually do. It's kind of my own fault. There was a sign on the front window that said that they are increasing prices on February 1 (my gel mani was $40 so geez it's going to be expensive). So I thought ok, they are pretty transparent with their pricing. NOPE. When I went to check out, I handed the girl my credit card and she said $35. Then the girl that did my nails said "she got a soak off" so that upped it to $40. I wasn't upset about that. I asked her if I could put the tip on my card and she asked the manager. The manager waited a few seconds, looked at my card and then said no, we have an atm in back. I said, I don't have my ATM card, and she said, okay then, just make sure you have cash next time. SO the manager could have said YES the first time. By that time the receptionist had already run my card and she couldn't put the tip on. So I said, "she's not getting her tip then?" And she said no. OMG. Why not have a sign that says we only take tips in cash?? Oh wait, back up to the actual manicure. I had to fix it when i got home. If I pay $40 for a gel mani, I shouldn't have to fix it. The person that did my nails quickly gave me a manicure and shaped my nails (very well, actually, but that's where the good stuff ends). Then she started slapping polish on my nails quickly. After the second coat i stopped to inspect my hand, and she tapped on the machine indicating me to "switch" and put my hand in. I said i needed to look. There were obvious spots that she missed. Instead of putting on polish to cover the empty spots, she put another coat (3rd) on all of my nails. Not only that, but she polished all the way up to the cuticles and so because of that and since my cuticles weren't pushed back correctly, the line against my cuticle is all jagged. And no one there was friendly. My manicurist didn't even attempt a conversation with me. But she did stop my manicure a few times to talk to her friend that was researching a medical sonography course. One star for the nice ambiance and the nail shaping. UGH. read more

Extremely disappointing and not the 45 minutes of luxury during a mani/pedi I expect. Manicurist took my legs out of water bath, squirted lotion on them and started massage. The lotion slid off into the water and she just rubbed my wet legs while rubber gloves dragged along...no gliding. She was very brief. When it came time for hands, her lotion massage of hands lasted one minute, if that. I felt like she was just going through the motions and did not spend any time trying to make it a pleasant experience. The place was not crowded so she wasn't trying to get to the next client. Oh, and can I add that my polish that is supposed to last at least 7 days is chipped after 2 days? Wont go back...too many other options. read more

The best nail salon I have ever tried. It is brand new but they are doing it right. It's beautiful inside and upscale. The employees are incredible- very sweet and truly dedicate their time. I came in once 30 min before closing and they stayed late to finish my manicure and still took their time. Prices are also affordable and a gel manicure lasts me 3 weeks at least. Be sure to book an appointment though it does get busy quick. read more

It's nice inside, and the ladies are nice enough - but I'd rather drive a few miles to get better service and a better pedicure. I've come to this place a number of times. You'd never know it because the staff are always unfriendly and unwelcoming. I continued to go because it's convenient for me. The other day I made an appointment for 430. When I walked in, per usual lack of welcome, without saying anything they pointed me "to pick my color". Then, they directed me to the back where there was a pedicure machine with water running. I sat back there for a good 25 minutes before I had to leave. No one came back to let me know what was going on, apologize for running late or even acknowledge that I was there. What a lack of professionalism. I won't be going back to this place EVER again. I love this place. The prices are good for the area ($17 for regular manicure and $35 for gel). Be sure to call ahead first to make sure they can fit you in. They are a small salon and one of the only ones in this neighborhood so they usually get pretty busy. read more

The decor of the spa is very nice. Everything is clean and fresh. I went with a friend for a mani/pedi. They put us in a private room which was great. The manicurists were really friendly and personable. Relaxed is an appropriate name for this place. Between the massage chair and the complimentary glass of wine, I nearly fell asleep. My nails and toe nails turned out great. The prices were similar to other places nearby, but Relaxed is a much nicer environment and the staff is friendlier. I will be going back. read more

Relaxed Nail Spa is generally good and relaxing as long as you don't get Sophia. I'm sorry to point the finger so specifically but I want to help someone else avoid a bad experience. On 2 very separate occasions I have had her for pedicure. She rushes through the job (every part of it), is rude, pushy, and extremely impatient - pushing and shoving my foot into the water, and even scolding me for not putting my foot flat on the bottom of the tub. When she rinsed my legs she sprayed the seat and then MADE my flatten my legs against the water getting my dress wet. I went in there after a bad day hoping to relax and feel pampered. When I realized I was going to be with Sophia I hesitated but decided to give her a second chance. I am sorry I did. read more

I went here for the first time yesterday because it was convenient to where I was meeting my friend after she got off work. We didn't make appointments (both got pedicures) and I was very pleased because they were able to take us almost immediately. My friend brought a photo of what she wanted (a light pink french with the thinnnneeessst white tip possible- they attempted it and in my opinion it looked awful. The white line was so thick that it looked like she had claws on her feet, gross.) I think if they didn't think they were going to be able to do what she asked for with photos they should've been transparent about it. I don't write many Yelp reviews but I'm literally fixing my pedicure right now. One of my toes needed a second third coat, it was super streaky. Also I'm upset that I did not notice while getting the pedicure but when I got home my nails are totally all cut crooked. I had long nails so no doubt it would have been easy to shape them properly. I'm actually cutting them so they will be straighter. For a $37 pedicure (which ended up being $35 because I paid in cash- they should have sign to let you know because I almost paid with my card but then needed change for the tip) I shouldn't have to fix my nails so much. I get pedicures so that they can clear away the dead skin, trim cuticles, and shape my nails. I can paint my own nails fine, so basically I feel like this was a waste of my money and time. The people who work there, are very sweet, so I don't feel great about writing this review. Overall atmosphere was very nice apart from having to smell their lunch in the back room. But its fine, you gotta eat, right? I hope it was just an off day for them, not sure that I'll be returning, though. read more

Great addition to the shopping center. The prices are a little higher, but definitely worth the splurge. The salon is extremely relaxing and has the best choice of colors. The staff is highly attentive, especially Tracy. Also, you have your choice of free wine or water while you get pampered! There is a private room with two pedicure chairs if you would like to bring your significant other for a little spa day. Overall, I really enjoy this place! read more

I've been here and have just had the best experience with Mimi, I definitely recommend her. Every time I get my nails done with Mimi it lasts forever! Only twice have I gotten my nails done with 2 different women that I definitely didn't like at all. My nails lasted about 3 days with them, but with Mimi, they last up to two weeks (and its not gel or shellac)! read more

I've gone here for both waxing and manicures (normal, though they do have a lot of gel polishes too) and been really happy every time. I've never made an appointment ahead of time, but only once was I asked to come back later (and it was 25 minutes later - so I just hung around the shopping center and spent a while picking out my polish color). The salon is always really clean, and instruments are sterilized. And the prices, at least to me, seem pretty comparable to other places in the area. Moreover, the salon looked clean, well organized and nicely decorated. All with taste, professionalism and hygiene. Went in last week and service was horrible. The technician named Ha was rude, not engaging, and uninterested in how I wanted my nails shaped. She rushed the nail service to the point where I wanted to get up and walk out. She had the worst attitude. My hands were dry when I walked in and even dryer when I left. After using polish remover and alcohol, my hands were ashy white and dry. I had to ask if I could wash my hands and she didn't bother to put lotion on hands. I've been before and the service was not nearly as bad. I would not recommend letting Ha do your service but maybe give one of the other ladies a chance if you don't have an alternative nail shop close by. Good Luck! read more

A fine place to get your nails done. I have been many times and have also brought friends - it is clean and quiet - never a lot of staff, so sometimes you have to wait, although I usually call ahead. Liked my mani/pedi every time. Have not tried massage, but maybe will soon. They give a few dollars discount if you pay cash! read more
