I originally found this place on Yelp. Thelma, the owner, was very responsive and followed up before my appointment, which was nice. Before my massage, she asked me about my target areas. I told her my back, shoulders and feet. I told her that I may have plantar fasciitis, she said she would work on that. I had just worked out over the weekend and was so sore. She massaged my muscles and really worked on my feet. It felt amazing! Typically, when I get a foot massage, they barely rub my feet, but Thelma worked on every pressure point on my feet-it felt fantastic! She also worked on all of my target areas. She was wonderful and so nice! She even massaged me a little longer than the scheduled time (since no other clients were there yet). I truly appreciated that so much. I was contacted by Thelma, who I think is the owner. She was really gracious on the phone and apologetic about the bad massage. She seemed genuinely concerned with me and not just the review I had written. She offered to make it up with a massage that she would personally provide. I was able to make an appointment for a few days later. The massage itself was great. Wow, I'm glad I called and made an appointment. My neck and back had been stiff and sore for sometime now. Thelma worked the kinks out with a very thorough deep tissue massage. Two days later I have full movement of neck and less stiffness. I'm going back next week to get more done. That's how badly kinked up I was. Thelma does wonderful job. The best massage deal in town! Thelma is very knowledgable- she has excellent technique! The massage I had was great. Amazing actually. Thelma is wonderful and professional. With this being said, I do have a small complaint. My mom booked our appointments together. We both purchased a groupon for a massage and facial. They brought us both to the back together and then asked who wanted to go first. I was a little perturbed because if they only had one masseuse available--why book us together? I had to sit for almost 2 HOURS while my mom went first. But the massage itself was the best one I've ever gotten, and I know my mom expressed the same sentiment. She felt Thelma took her time and really showed no mercy on her trouble areas and said the next day she was still pain free. I have been coming regularly for almost a year now, and I love it :-) Thelma, the owner, is very sweet and professional; and will address any concerns you may have. She keeps water, tea, juice, and snacks available for anyone with an appointment. There is also an infrared sauna which I use to help warm my muscles before the massage. A shower is available with complimentary toiletries, which is really nice to wash off any oil. TIP: come early to pay ahead of time and change out of your clothes so you can settle in the private space for your massage and just relax. As a member, I pay a small yearly fee for a discounted price (minimum once a month commitment), but I can come unlimited times for the same price as well as can purchase massage gift certificates with my member price. read more

Thelma, the owner, gives the best massages I have ever received; not only relaxing but also therapeutic, helping a lot with my back pain. She is very kind, respectful and professional. She reminds me before every appointment and tailors each massage to my concerns. I became a member immediately after my first visit at 'Relax and Sleep', back then I received a gift card (massage) from my wife. The prices are almost half of all the places I tried in proper Chicago and the quality is a million times better. Wouldn't honor the posted Yelp deal. When I called was told foot massage special was $20 for 30 minutes. I opted for that instead since they did not want to honor the $39 Yelp deal. All of the sudden the foot massage was only 20 minutes for $20. She finally just said, "whatever" followed by mumbling I couldn't hear because she was walking away from me. Just completely awkward - left before even getting a massage. What a shame after driving out of my way to try this business. read more

Highly recommend!! I have had back and shoulder issues for about 24 years.... Herniated discs etc... Very knowledgeable on anatomy and truly working out the issues ( even tho it hurts a little sometimes!! ) lol Very happy and have been a member for about 4 months!! Blessed am I that Relax and Sleep opened two blocks from my house. I was hooked on the awesome clinical massage on my first visit. it was a no Brainer to join the club. Ahmazingggggggg! The just opened recently but I saw the specialized in pain management massage . I got an hour full body massage, my therapist decided I needed a deep tissue. I said go ahead, she had no mercy on me but let me tell you I felt a million things times better. The space itself is quaint, nothing super luxurious but you get your own private room and choice of oil or lotion. They are very professional and I will definitely be back! read more
