Rejoice Restaurant & Bar in Broward County is a true gem for authentic Nigerian and West African flavors. From jollof rice and egusi to fufu and okra soup, every dish is bold, fresh, and generously portioned. The atmosphere is cozy with afrobeat vibes, and you can enjoy it dining in, outdoors, or taking it to go. Service is friendly, though sometimes a bit slow, but the food more than makes up for it. A great spot I keep coming back to--perfect whether you're eating in or carrying out. Rejoice Restaurant & Bar in Broward County is a true gem for authentic Nigerian and West African flavors. Start this by saying I'm from Mexico and my Husband is from Venezuela so this was a completely new flavor to us but we'd been craving to try Egusi soup and finally found this place to have it and it did not disappoint! We had Egusi Chicken and Jollof rice with beef plantain both so delicious and you could taste the homemade flavor. Wow!

In awe of this place. The food was delicious, service was excellent, and the restaurant itself was a good vibe.

I was in the area and hungry. I was recommended to try out this restaurant and let's just say everything was so good. I got there just as they opened so I was the only on there. Ordering was easy as I had Nigerian for before and I had an idea of what I wanted to eat. The young lady at the front was helpful in my ordering process. I ordered egusi, side of jollof rice, stewed goat and pounded yam. The decor of the restaurant is modern and aesthetically pleasing. Clean and upbeat. I sat on the couch and waited for my order to be ready then took it to go. I ate as soon as I got home and the flavors was just right. A little spicy but I can take the heat. The goat was a bit tough and I would recommend them cooking it longer so it's tender. The portions are great. I would highly recommend trying them out for a change of your usual.

I came here with my boyfriend for the first time on Saturday. I am originally from MA and have been craving Nigerian food for a while. They have really good Nigerian restaurants in Boston so I was hoping to find a really good one in South Florida too. What I really wanted was some good fufu and Stew. We tried the Egusi stew and pounded yams (fufu). It was very flavorful and tasty! We ordered it with no meat but kept the red sauce. My boyfriend really loved the red sauce and ordered another bowl of it separately to dip his fufu in. We also ordered the Ogbono stew (made with mango seeds). It is extremely nutrient dense but neither of us enjoyed the flavor. I would absolutely go back for the egusi stew! It was the best part. Also, it was very quiet on the Saturday afternoon when we went. The restaurant was spacious, quick customer service, nice African art, and very clean.

Not our first time having Nigerian food. But this place by far the best here in South Florida. I drove about 45 minutes to a hour to get my food. It was hot, fresh, tasty and more. Good prices and good quality of food. Yes I will be back and will definitely recommend it.

Jollof rice with goat meat and plantains; Egusi soup and fufu

Wanted to try some African cuisine today with family so we found Rejoice. We ordered the Jollof rice with goat meat, plantains and red sauce. We also ordered fufu with Egusi soup... The food is amazing! The goat meat is tender! The. Jollof is very tasty and cooked perfectly. Wow, read sauce is spicy!!! I would definitely order this meal again and again..

Went with a group of friends early Saturday afternoon shortly after opening. They weren't ready yet to take our orders so we waited as we skimmed through the menu. There is a QR code to scan on your phone that takes you to their online menu. We ended up getting the fried rice, chicken, and plantain/Jollof rice, chicken and plantain/Egushi fufu fish. I liked the jollof rice the most - everything else was just ok. The serving sizes are large, I would order in advance. It was cool to try something new.

This…read morewas one of those meals that stays with you, because everything came together so beautifully. The food was wonderful from start to finish, and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. There was something about the ambiance that took me right back to France, to those moments of breaking bread with my North African friends, surrounded by warmth, conversation, and the kind of hospitality that makes a place feel familiar the moment you walk in. I felt right at home. Fatima deserves special recognition. She was so kind to me and made me feel completely welcome. Her presence was gentle, warm, and sincere, and it elevated the entire experience. It honestly felt like I was being looked after at my Moroccan auntie's house. That kind of feeling cannot be faked, and it means a great deal. As for the food, it was amazing. The pastilla with chicken and almonds, dusted with sugar and cinnamon, was absolutely delicious, with that beautiful balance of savory richness and gentle sweetness that makes the dish so memorable. The msemmen was warm, comforting, and deeply satisfying. The merguez tajine was full of flavor and beautifully prepared. The Moroccan harira had that soulful, nourishing quality that makes a great soup feel like part of the heart of the meal. The zaalouk was excellent as well, rich and flavorful and a perfect addition to everything else on the table. Dar Tajine gave us more than a meal. It gave us an experience filled with warmth, flavor, generosity, and heart. The food was amazing, the hospitality was genuine, and Fatima made a lasting impression. This place deserves real praise, and I would gladly return.

Having said this, I can't begin to tell you how excited I was to find Awash! I happened to be working in No. Miami and as always, no road trip will happen in my life without a laundry list of restaurants to try, and Awash popped up in my search! YAAAAAAAAAAYYYYY!!! I walked in and immediately the scent of butter & berbere wafted over me - causing me immense joy! The restaurant is very homey and unassuming. The staff is LOVELY! So welcoming and warm. I ordered Doro Wot, a small side of Zilzil Wot, Ethiopian salad and a small side of Alicha Wot - and some extra injera for sopping and I was NOT disappointed! Everything was deep, rich, complex and TOTALLY SATIFYING to body and soul. I will DEFINITELY be back - with my Fat Kid elastic waist pants on - to enjoy a sit-down feast!

The young man at the door, Amar, is incredibly friendly and welcoming. You can immediately see that it is a staple in the neighborhood. Not only are there people who seem to be regulars seating at a table, but couples in what appear to be dates, in booths all around. The decor is also incredibly beautiful, authentic, and on brand. But the star of the show was the food. Despite being 7:30PM I started by ordering the Ethiopian Coffee. There are only so many chances you're ever going to get to try coffee from the birthplace of coffee, and so, I had to. This was followed by the TASTE OF AWASH FOR (1) 26.99 & FOR (2) 35.99. Let's just say it was all to die for. The seasonings, the flavors, the softness of the enjera (the spongy, sour-fermented flatbread used to mix and spoon all the other elements). It was all so perfectly delicious! Amar's brother was also incredibly helpful. He finished our order and was incredibly gracious to answer a lot of our questions about Ethiopia, the region, and the history of the restaurant, which has been in business for 9 years. All in all, I highly recommend Awash Ethiopian Restaurant. In all honesty, I can't wait to go back!
