Very disappointed with this experience…read more This was my third time purchasing biltong from this business. I spent approximately $150 on five slabs because I was purchasing them as a gift for someone else. There is an important detail that I want to clarify because the owner's response does not accurately describe what happened. I actually placed this order online. When I went to pick it up, I had to wait approximately 20 minutes for the order to be prepared. The biltong was still not vacuum-sealed when I received it. The owner later stated that online orders are vacuum-sealed because they may spend several days in transit. That makes this situation even more frustrating because this WAS an online order. If I had been told that my order was not going to be vacuum-sealed, I absolutely would have requested it, especially because I was sending the biltong to someone else as a gift. I was also a repeat customer. This was my third purchase from the store, and my previous biltong purchases had been vacuum-sealed without me having to specifically request it. I therefore had no reason to believe I suddenly needed to ask for something that had been done with my previous purchases. I took the biltong home and refrigerated it as instructed. Within approximately three days, all five slabs developed extensive mold, including green mold. I contacted the business because I had spent $150 on a product that I could no longer comfortably give as a gift. The owner called me back and told me they would not replace the biltong because it should have been kept refrigerated. The problem with that explanation is that it WAS refrigerated. The business later explained that the biltong is made without preservatives, that proper refrigeration is required, that they perform monthly quality-control testing, and that they cannot control how a perishable product is handled after it leaves their possession. I understand that a business cannot control everything after a product leaves the store. However, I followed the refrigeration instructions, and I contacted them only about three days after receiving the product. I was not asking for a replacement months later. I was reporting extensive mold, including green mold, on a $150 purchase almost immediately after receiving it. There is also a contradiction in the explanation regarding vacuum sealing. I was told online orders are vacuum-sealed because they can spend several days in transit. My order was an online order, yet it was not vacuum-sealed. I even waited approximately 20 minutes for the order, and nobody told me that the slabs would not be vacuum-sealed or that I needed to specifically request it. Had I known, I would have absolutely requested vacuum sealing because I was sending the biltong to someone else. I am not claiming that I can personally determine exactly what caused the mold. I am stating the facts of my experience: this was an online order, I spent approximately $150 on five slabs as a gift, I waited for the order to be prepared, the slabs were not vacuum-sealed, I refrigerated them as instructed, and within approximately three days they developed extensive mold, including green mold. As a repeat customer, I expected better communication and better customer service. Instead, I was left with $150 worth of biltong that I could not comfortably give as a gift, and the business refused to replace it. I am posting this review so potential customers can have the complete picture and make their own decision.

Been a fan of this place on Facebook for years so had to check it out since I was so close…read more Saturday afternoon was busy with all tables being used, I was prepared to eat outside but I was thoughtfully sat at the bar to avoid the scorching heat. I specifically went there for the Indian samosas and the Russian and slap chips. My spouse is South African and although we have tried several times to make slap chips we can't quite get it right. Food came quickly and was nice and hot, the samosas were perfect, spice level and crispness of the pastry. Russian and slap chips were delicious as well. I got to meet and chat to both of the owners who were very friendly. Would love to come back if we move down to Florida.

I also purchased Crunchie candy bars and a small bag of Flings which are shaped like cheese curls. The Flings have a unique flavor and I like it. The Crunchie bar is very crunchy with a buttery, toffee and caramel flavor. Keep the candy bar in the fridge for the crisp taste. The spinach with feta cheese is the best I have tasted. If you like feta and spinach, I do recommend you to try. I will be going back.

I should've came months ago when he told me because I've been missing out. My boyfriend and I popped in on a Sunday shortly after they opened and were immediately greeted by a smiling, friendly woman wearing a Florida Panthers (Go Cats!) shirt so I already knew I was going to enjoy this place. The inside is super clean, organized and really easy to order. They have some tables outside, however we were planning on eating them down by the beach. As we stood there trying to decide which pies we wanted, she was sooo patient with us. Then, along came another smiling, friendly gentleman and I asked them both for help picking my third pie because I simply couldn't decide. We went with the chicken curry, lamb curry and beef steak (having to refrain myself from buying more)! Holy molyyyyyy these pies are beyondddd delicious. This is probably the only time I'll admit that the more crumbs I had on my shirt, the better! I have never tasted a more flaky, buttery, perfectly baked pastry like that in my life! The filling inside of each pie was fresh, hot, and absolutely made with LOVE! Both the chicken and lamb meat were sooo tender it made it so easy to enjoy; each bite we kept saying to each other: "wow!! this is good!!!" I'm kicking myself for not going back for more on my way home, but I cannot wait to visit again and SOON. This spot is truly one of a kind and I'll be thinking about these pies until I get back over there to try more of the options they have. I will be recommending this spot to any person I get the chance to tell! Yum yum yum!

Blatant Profiling, Harassment, and Professional Misconduct!…read more I am writing this review to formally document a deeply disturbing experience my family and I encountered at the Lux location within the Seminole Hard Rock. What was intended to be a celebratory shopping excursion for my daughter resulted in a blatant display of racial profiling and targeted harassment by the staff. The details of the encounter were as follows: * Discriminatory Treatment: My daughter selected several gowns to purchase, however needed try on prior. While the sales associates actively assisted other customers to fitting rooms, my daughter was pointedly denied the same service and singled out and insulted! * Invasive Violation of Privacy: Most outrageously, an associate informed us that she would be required to stand inside the fitting room and personally watch my daughter dress. This is not only an invasive violation of privacy but a direct insult to our integrity as patrons. * Hostile Physical Interaction: The two associates physically snatched the dresses out of my daughter's hands, stating she was not permitted to try them on. When I intervened to ask for an explanation, the staff alleged that "people break the dresses"--a clear and insulting generalization. I informed her that we would be purchasing all dresses.. * Verbal Abuse: We were yelled at and repeatedly insulted. When I finally advised the employees that we were leaving due to their behavior, they laughed and told us "Great!" When I told them they should be ashamed of how they speak to people, they simply smirked and immediately began welcoming other patrons to try on the merchandise right in front of us. It is clear that this staff operates on a system of prejudice, judging the value of a customer based on appearance rather than merit. I assured the staff that I was prepared to purchase any gown in the store, yet they chose to prioritize harassment over a high-value transaction. To Management: You have a significant liability in your current staffing. By employing individuals who lack basic professional decorum and cross the line into racial profiling, you are alienating high-value clientele and damaging the reputation of the Hard Rock brand. Now, upon reading other outrageous reviews on the actual quality of your merchandise, your customer service is equivalent to the quality. Sub-par at Best! To the Public: I strongly advise against patronizing Lux. There are many luxury boutiques that treat their customers with dignity and respect; unfortunately, this establishment is not one of them. Stay far away! See other reviews as this service seems to be "business as usual " I wish there were negative stars!

Majority of their dresses are special occasion kind of dresses. The prices are steep. The staff in the store are super nice and they helped me pick out a dress. I loved a dress and bought it after some hesitation as it's expensive. I wore it once recently and have been disappointed. The quality of the dress I got was quite low for the price I paid. And they have very restrictive return policy. Clothes here are definitely not worth the money. Wouldn't come here again. I wouldn't recommend this store.
