Why it took me so long to get here however is a mystery to me because it's a lovely restaurant. I don't mean by that the ambience it's actually rather plain however the service and the food is absolutely spectacular. I'm by no means an expert in Peruvian food however the patrons were buying for Peruvian hence I'm going to take their presence as a statement about authenticity of the food and a 12 year history. They don't sell alcohol so all of their profits are from dishes, which are absolutely spectacular. We had something a kin to an empanada, which was made with beef deep fried, but the crust was very white and very flavorful. The server gave me a side dip which added some spice to the meal however, before putting it on, I ate some without the dip and it was very flavorful. Potatoes, rice and beans are a large part of Peruvian cuisine all of which I tasted here all of which were very, very good. We got basically a sampler tray which included ceviche beef, chicken, and a potato bean combination, which was just wonderful. The waiter was kind enough to point it out to us and I'm glad he did because it was a great overview of what Peruvian food is. Since I'm not familiar with the cuisine rather than spend a great deal of time addressing it what I'm going to tell you is, it is a wonderful restaurant, the service is equally wonderful, BYOB and enjoy yourself. I will not let so much time go again before I revisit this fine Restaurant. It was a pleasure.

For starters, I appreciated the complimentary Cuban bread (which they graciously gave us another serving of)! I had the Bistec de Palomilla, the traditional skirt steak, with a generous serving of black rice and beans and yummy plantains which were a sweet treat to end the meal with. My partner had the ropa vieja, the sauteed shredded beef with onions and peppers, along with some garlic yucca. Overall, I recommend this place to Cuban food seekers in the area. BEWARE! this place tried to force us to give a tip by including it in the total for a "table of 5"…read moreeven though only 4 adults ordered food and 1 adult joined our table for a cup of coffee. They do not have anything that states this on any menus or on the walls or anywhere that discloses if there's a table of 5 there is a REQUIRED 10% tip. So I was shocked when the manager informed me that the rule was verbal and instead of allowing me to speak to the owner she claimed she could do nothing. The manager (older woman with glasses) insisted that it was a "verbal rule" which is why it's not documented on anything. That seems ILLEGAL. In addition, the service is BAD. If the service would've been good I might not even have noticed this extra change on my receipt. So sad that it seems they just want to take advantage of people. I suggest trying OTHER Colombian restaurants in the area. This one is NOT worth your money.

I think he was hungry, so I decided to order the family pack and share it with him and everyone else at the barbershop. The service was top notch. I told them I needed extra plates and silverware, and honestly I thought they might forget since I was in a rush, but they had everything ready for me. I placed the order about 6 minutes before getting there and somehow they still had it ready when I arrived. The restaurant was very clean, the area was not crowded, and there was plenty of parking. I got the family fried chicken pack, which came with fried rice and fries. For the price, the amount of food you get is definitely worth it. I've had fried rice from other places that was too greasy and ended up giving me stomach pain, but this rice was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of oil. The fries were fresh and crispy, not soggy at all, and the fried chicken was crispy with really good flavor. The portions were great, the prices were affordable, the service was excellent, and everything tasted fresh. I'll definitely be coming back and would recommend Michy's.

The restaurant itself was very clean, the atmosphere was nice, and I was happy to see limbers on the menu. Service was also pleasant. But when it came to the food, it was a letdown. The vegetable fried rice had very little flavor, and both the sweet and sour chicken and orange chicken were just okay, nothing particularly memorable. The biggest disappointment was the crab rangoon, which was honestly the worst I've ever had. It lacked flavor and texture, and I couldn't finish it. The tostones needed salt they were a bit too soft too. Overall, I left wishing the food had more seasoning and more of the bold flavors that make both Latin and Chinese cuisine so special. The concept has so much potential, but this visit missed the mark for me. Sadly, the food wasn't something my Puerto Rican ancestors would be proud of. Hopefully it was just an off day, but based on this experience, I don't see myself returning.
