I wandered into Regalade without intending. My friends and I meant to go to another restaurant with an obnoxious wait time, so instead we stopped for drinks here. Drinks quickly turned into appetizers...which then turned into a whole meal! If you are looking for authentic French cuisine and fresh seafood, Regalade is it! We sat at the bar and got cocktails. My Aperol Spritz was perfect--sweet and refreshing. I then ordered the baguette with butter (Baguette Tiède). DELICIOUS! (I mean, you can't have a good French restaurant without a good buttered baguette!!) The butter is so delicious....definitely puts Kerrygold to shame!! I followed that with a tasting of several of their "Petits Plats"--a little bit of the Marinated Beet Salad and the Assiette de Merguez (lamb sausage). Both were well done and tasty! By this time, we were hooked and wanted more. For my entree, I ordered the Linguine aux Champignons Sauvages--EXCELLENT! Creamy and comforting. I also took bites of my friends' mains: the Magret de Canard (duck breast) and Branzino. Honestly, everything was excellent. Flavors were en pointe! Definitely come for the food! The locale itself is small but nicely decorated. While I wish we got a proper table, we were walk-ins. Regardless, the restaurant is charming, with black and white pictures of famous French actors like Brigitte Bardot on the wall. The bar has a great view of the fresh sea food as well. Regalade is owned by the owners of OSTE which was one of my favorite meals this year. Needless to say, I was excited to try out this new French bistro. I came here with my parents who were in town. Since they fly in from the east coast, we had a 5pm reservation. Which was perfect because it wasn't super busy. It was a nice day out so we sat on the patio. Our server was very kind and knowledgeable about the menu. The dirty martini is smooth. I could easily see someone getting drunk off more than one of them. The steak tartare was delicious. The server stirs it up table side. It comes with a side of crostini to stack the tartare one. The marinated beet salad was very refreshing. I think I'd skip it next time and get the escargot instead. I can't believe we missed that. The French onion soup was amazing. A must order! The scallops crudo was incredibly tasty. The sauce was a little sweet but my dad likes it that way. The mussels mariniere was my favorite thing we ate. Make sure you order the baguette so you soak up the delicious sauce. It was my first time trying this newly opened French spot and it definitely serves classic French flavors. A classy dimly lit restaurant. The bread and butter is a must get. The bread was soft on the inside and crispy on the outside and it's perfect for dipping in the French onion soup or scooping up the rest of the chive beurre Blanc sauce. The French onion soup($15) was hearty, cheesy, and buttery. It was a classic beef broth with tons of caramelized onions which made me so full before the main course. It's definitely more of a beefy French onion soup in comparison to other French onions I've tried. The scallops ($20) were served with a sweet a yuzu & jalapeño vinaigrette that brought out the natural sweetness of the scallops. I will say I think the portion is a bit small. Next we got the grilled octopus with a Romesco sauce which is a blend of herbs, tomato, almonds, and bell pepper. The octopus was extremely tender and grilled which paired well with the nutty and vibrant romesco. For the main, we shared a branzino($32) with chive beurre blanc. The light flavors of the butter complimented the branzino. The fish was also perfectly grilled and the skin a little crispy. I will say that it could have benefited from a little more salt nit there's salt on the table if needed. I appreciate the big portion sizes of the mains since they were really filling. We ended the night with a scoop of pistachio gelato($6). It was unique since the pistachio flavor was very natural and amazing but the gelato itself was icy but I think it's supposed to be that way. If I'm ever craving French food I would 100% come back to regalade. Our server was also attentive and sweet and i appreciated still being seated despite being a bit late for my reservation. read more

Had an absolutely fantastic meal here, this was aan absolute 10/10. Everything we had here was so delicious and perfectly prepared. Drink menu is lovely, they have some of their own cocktails as well as a lovely selection of wines. The menu was almost exactly as if it were pulled from a Parisian bistro and placed into the heart of LA. My favorites were the chicken liver, the escargot (get some bread to pair with this), and the duck confit - perfectly tender with a nice crisp to it. Service was impeccable - we were cared for and the team was so kind despite an issue that came up on our part. Highly recommend using the valet for parking on a busy weekend night or Ubering if you're close by -- you'll have to be very lucky to find any metered parking as the neighboring streets are permit only This spot is very chic, understated but refined. Regalade is a hip new French place on 3rd St., next door to its popular Italian sister restaurant Oste. I've been twice in the last couple months, first with my husband, then with girlfriends for Carol A.'s birthday, and it was a great spot for both occasions. The space is charming, with a bustling bistro vibe. I've had the same server both times and she's fantastic, friendly and attentive and an all-around lovely host (I'm blanking on her name, but if you see a waiter who looks like the chef's girlfriend on The Bear, that's her). Full bar, anchored by a healthy list of French-leaning wines. I've enjoyed a Sancerre and a red Burgundy. There's also an interesting cocktail list. I really liked the Regalade gin martini, which came with a zippy dose of cornichon brine. I've sampled a good chunk of the menu at this point, and everything has been delicious. To start, don't skip the $6 baguette, warm and crusty, served with butter d'Isigny. The cheese plate is nice, too. Ours came with Brie de Meaux, Comté, Roquefort, country sourdough, and honey sprinkled with black pepper. If you want something raw, the East and West Coast oysters are fresh and tasty, as are the Peruvian scallops, finished with passionfruit vinaigrette, chili oil, and cilantro. The beef tartare is also superb, silky raw beef with shallots, Dijon mustard, pickles, garlic, parsley, and quail egg. I'm a fan of the Basque-style octopus, too, cooked a la plancha and served over fingerling potatoes and romesco. On the salad side, the simple salade verte is light and green, with little gem lettuce, fine herbs, and mustard vinaigrette (you can add goat cheese if you please). If you like leeks as much as I do, definitely get the poireaux vinaigrette, a salad of poached leeks with hazelnut, tahini-honey, and vinaigrette. The entrées are at least as good as the smaller plates. The moules marinitière are classic, the mussels plump, the shallot, garlic, and white wine broth drinkable. They pair well with the grilled wagyu steak frites, a tender 8-ounce flat-iron served with crispy golden fries, mayonnaise, and choice of sauce--we got the peppery, rich au poivre. Pan-seared branzino comes skin-on over chive beurre blanc and Swiss chard. Then there's the beautiful pan-seared magret duck breast, served with celery root purée, thyme, and sauce bordelaise. For dessert, the mousse au chocolate noir is satisfyingly chocolatey with an airy texture, plated with chocolate curls on a lake of crème anglaise. I might prefer the caramelized apple tarte tatin, with caramel sauce and vanilla ice cream. I live close to Regalade and am thrilled to have it in the neighborhood. It's a super useful restaurant with quality food, drink, service, and atmosphere. I expect I'll be back for thirds pretty soon. read more

We started with Baguette Tiede, Calamar Grille, Os A Moelle Au Four, Scallops Crudo, Crispy Brussels Sprouts, Salade D'Endive, & French Fries with Garlic Aioli to share. Entrées consisted of: Moules Mariniere, Salade Verte with warm Goat Cheese, Daurade Grille, Canard Confit, Mac & Cheese Aux Truffes, & Linguine Aux Champignons Sauvages. We shared dessert: Mousse Au Chocolate Noir, Ile Flottante, Crème Brûlée (two orders of each), and Noisette Glace. My cocktail selections were Passion Project & a Kir Royale. I also tried the Le Péché Mignon & the Regalade. All were tasty. The food was absolutely delicious! Everything was expertly prepared and nicely presented. Made a reservation for dinner on Saturday night and was seated very promptly after a quick wait. The restaurant was bustling and was very lively. We ordered a few dishes to share, including the bread with butter, oysters, mussels, fries, and the steak frites. The steak came with the au poivre sauce which was delicious. The fries tasted great in the sauce. The servers were also very attentive and made great recommendations. We decided to try this place again and this time order more traditional French food and wow, everything was different! To start, we got the endive salad and I love how fresh this tasted as well as the flavor profiles with the walnuts, pear, blue cheese and endive. I'm not the biggest fan of endives in general but this was very refreshing and my friend also loved it. Then we got two appetizers: escargot and prawns. Wow! The escargot was absolutely phenomenal. It was soaked in this butter sauce that was incredible. The table next to us actually packed just the sauce to go which shows how delicious that sauce was. It was also amazing with the bread. The prawns were also very tasty as well. If you love prawns, definitely check out this dish. Then we got two mains: mussels provencale and steak frites. The mussels were amazing! We loved the sauce and that went incredibly well with the bread. The mussels also tasted very fresh. The steak was equally as amazing. The au poivre sauce it came with was so delicious. At this point we were stuffed so unfortunately (or fortunately) we did have leftovers. To end the night, we also had this apple tart that came highly recommended by the owner and this was incredible! It was perfectly flavored with the cinnamon and it went really well with the ice cream. We also decided to go for a cup of french mint tea which was perfect since it helps with digestion and we definitely needed that after this delicious meal. My dad ended up eating the leftover steak the next day and he raved about it. We also had two mocktails which were also delicious and the service we had was incredible. The food, service, and ambiance here are spectacular. I had high hopes and they were met beyond my wildest dreams. This just may be the best restaurant in all the city. It's because of the quality of every detail and done with utmost finesse. We love Osti and we were just as if not more thrilled by Regalade! First off, Sal was awesome - so thoughtful about seating for my 88 year old parents! Jordan took care of us as did many other very attentive staff members. The food was absolutely outstanding. We started with the chicken liver pate and the grilled calamari - both excellent. The onion jam with the pate was perfect and the broth for the calamari was subtle and tasty.We got the salade verte (two actually); duck confit; poulet roti; brussels sprouts and mussels. All delicious and well flavored. We also got awesome desserts including apple tart and dark chocolate mousse. If you like French bistro food, this is your place. I had a high expectations of Regalade given it is owned by the same people as Oste (which is wonderful). And it did not disappoint. Our server pointed out some of the favorites on the menu, and answered all our questions when trying to narrow down what to order. The menu was French but with a nouveau twist. We decided on the mussels with white wine sauce. The quantity was enough for 2 to share and the mussels were so plump, soft and delicious. Order the baguette to sop up the sauce as it does not come with bread. For main courses we chose the branzino and the duck confit. The branzino was white and flakey, and came over a large portion of tender Swiss chard. The sauce tied it all together. The portion is quite large with enough for the next day. The duck leg was super tender and in a not-too-sweet cherry sauce. It also came with cooked greens. For dessert the apple Tartine with vanilla ice cream was classic French and a good way to end the meal. The atmosphere has a nice French vibe. Indoor is quite loud so opt for outdoor if you want a more intimate setting. The service was great both from our waiter and from who I assumed was either the owner or manager. They have an extensive wine list along with a full bar and cocktail menu. We had the Passion Project and Le Peche Mignon and both were delicious. As for food, every single thing we ordered was delicious. We enjoyed the endive salad, French onion soup, scallop crudo, wagyu steak frites, and mac & cheese. The stand outs were definitely the crudo and the steak frites, but again everything was phenomenal. The best part was that the prices were incredibly competitive compared to other restaurants. Our waitress explained the menu to us and checked on us regularly to see if we needed anything. Other employees did the same. The food was absolutely delicious! The chicken and the sauce it was in was amazing. The burger had grilled onions that added a ton of flavor to the burger. The mac and cheese was good too, the only negative I'll say is that it did seem too salty and was a bit hard to keep eating from the saltiness in my opinion. Just two doors down from Oste, my favorite Italian on West 3rd, the owners have opened a sister French bistro called Regalade. Like Oste, you'll find high-quality fare served in a festive café/bar setting. Menu favorites include the French onion soup (with the perfect crunchy cheese crust and rich broth), the salade verte with a tangy mustard vinaigrette (add goat cheese for a complete meal), luscious linguine with wild mushrooms, and, of course, thin crispy fries with either garlic or truffle aïoli. My partner and I were walking the dog and got into one of those conversations -- current events, the usual dread -- the kind of conversation where the only possible resolution is french fries, a salad, and a martini. Not dinner. Not "going out to eat." The specific, medicinal combination of cold gin and something green and something fried that signals to your nervous system that the adults are taking over now. We found ourselves walking past Régalade, which had opened a few weeks earlier on West 3rd. Her family goes to Oste -- the Italian spot from the same owners, Jocelyn Bulow and Alessandro Iacobelli -- but she'd never been to this one. Neither had I. We were a party of two, possibly three (a German colleague was maybe joining), with a dog. They sat us on the patio immediately, the dog included, no drama, no apology. This is the first thing to understand about Régalade: it is new, and it is already running like a place that has been there for years. The French have a particular gift for this -- the bistro is one of the most over-refined genres in the world, every gesture codified by a century of practice, so when someone does it properly you don't notice the mechanics, you just notice that the seat is comfortable and the bread arrived and the martini is cold and correct. Régalade is doing it properly. The name -- *la régalade* -- is French for a feast, a treat, a good time at the table. It's also the name of a famous Paris bistro, Yves Camdeborde's place in the 14th arrondissement, which essentially launched the bistronomie movement in the 1990s -- serious chefs cooking serious food at bistro prices, changing how Parisians ate. Whether Bulow and Iacobelli meant to invoke that lineage or just liked the word, I don't know, but the spirit is right either way: this is supposed to be good food at reasonable prices, not luxury cosplay. Régalade honors that promise. The check, when it came, was the kind of check that makes you want to come back instead of the kind that makes you reconsider your life choices. A French bistro in Beverly Grove is not a novel concept in 2026 -- Los Angeles has had plenty, and plenty have been terrible, and the ratio of sincerity to performance in any given one is always the question. Régalade lands on the sincere side. You can feel it. We ordered the salade verte -- little gem lettuce, fine herbs, mustard vinaigrette -- and the moules mariniere with frites, bread and butter, and two gin martinis that arrived appropriately cold. A martini is a test. If the restaurant doesn't care about the martini, it doesn't care about you. The martinis passed. The salade was perfect, and the vinaigrette is the thing I want to talk about -- the mustard vinaigrette is the hinge on which a French bistro salad swings, and most places in America blow it, either by going too timid or by mistaking "mustard" for "overwhelming with Dijon." Régalade's was balanced and sharp and correct, coating the little gem without drowning it, and I ate the whole bowl. The moules were exactly what you want moules to be. The broth was the point, as broth is always the point with mussels -- that particular white wine and shallot and butter alchemy that exists to be sopped up with bread -- and the bread was there for the sopping. These were my partner's first mussels ever, which is a fact I want to pause on, because a first mussels experience at a place that gets them wrong can ruin mussels for a person for life. She loved them. She ate them the right way, pulling the meat with an empty shell like she'd been doing it forever, dipping bread in the broth, and asking why she hadn't been eating mussels this whole time. I watched this happen with the particular quiet joy of someone who has witnessed a conversion. The frites were crisp and hot and plentiful, which is the job of frites, and they delivered. We added a lager and an IPA at some point because the afternoon stretched and we were having too good a time to leave. The service was delightful, genuinely delightful, the kind of service that makes you wonder why more restaurants don't train their staff to seem happy you're there. The patio was buzzy without being loud. Our dog got attention and water and was clearly considered a welcome guest, not a tolerated one, which is the difference between a restaurant that allows dogs and a restaurant that likes dogs. Here's what I'll say about Régalade: it is a very specific and rare thing in Los Angeles, which is a restaurant where the goal is not to impress you, not to go viral, not to be the next thing, but simply to feed you well and make you feel taken care of on a long afternoon when the news is bad and you need a martini. That's the whole trick. Most places forget it. Régalade seems to have started there. We walked home feeling actively better than when we'd sat down, which is the highest compliment a meal can receive. That's the test a restaurant has to pass and most don't. read more

Regalade Bistro is an absolute gem! It's not easy to find a truly authentic French restaurant in Los Angeles, but this one delivers on every beat. We started with the Baguette Tiède and Salad Verte--simple dishes done exactly right. From there, everything just kept getting better. The Calamar Grillé was tender and flavorful, the Yellowtail Crudo and Salmon Crudo were pristine and bright, and the Mac & Cheese au Truffle was outrageously good--rich, indulgent, and deeply satisfying without feeling heavy. Even the Crispy Brussels Sprouts were next level! The all-French wine list is thoughtfully curated and impressive, and the cocktail menu is just as strong. You can tell a lot of care went into every detail. The interior is chic and unmistakably French, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable. The whole experience felt impeccable. Food was absolutely spectacular, everything was fresh and tasted amazing. Highly recommend the scallop crudo for sure. Mussels in the white wine garlic sauce was a must as well. Service was a little slow but that's probably cause they just opened up and even with reservations we waited outside 20/30 min As far ambiance the inside is very cute open floor plan. Food was delicious: we started with the French onion soup which was not too salty like most French onion soups. We ordered the waygu steak, and branzino for our mains and they were perfectly made. Finally, we ordered the pavlova for dessert and it was very good; as was the service. Well executed meal from greeting at the house stand all the way through dessert. I would recommend. read more
