I purchased Pop and popcorn on the 4th Floor using my Credit Card. I wanted to purchase M&M's. I was in line to make my purchase and realized that I had lost my wallet. I was told to go to their booth on the 2nd floor. I was able to talk with a very nice lady manager who looked into the Lost and Found Drawer. Unfortunately it was not there. She offered to assist with a flashlight once the film was finished. She said that wallets often slip,out of pockets into the side of the chairs and said someone will be there with a flashlight to help out. As I was leaving she asked me what I was going to purchase and I said peanut M& M's, she went to get me one and said it was complimentary. She made my day, it was a very professional move, often seeing it in great hospitality awareness. Working in Hotel hospitality for 4 decades it is noteworthy that she did that kind act. Often if a guest was checking in and it was their birthday or anniversary, I sent up chocolate covered strawberries and a bottle of Champagne, or a small Chocolate Cake, with "Happy Birthday ", written on it. I encouraged my employees to do the same. We could send up $100.00 in floral arrangements, hot tea, with honey, and lemon, and a bowl of Chicken Soup if they were sick. It made my day when I was able to do this, once I found out a couple was going out to dinner in Magnolia celebrating their25 th Anniversary. I arranged our Limo to take them there and pick them up. When you're empowered to resolve guest issues, make their stay memorable, it filled me with joy and happiness, just like that manager made me feel... the power of M&M's! read more

A short 15 min drive from downtown Seattle, this theater has plenty of easy underground parking which is shared with the entire little courtyard of businesses there. You have option of waiting for tickets from cashier outside or heading indoors to one automated kiosk. There are a few floors with escalators amd stairs or one elevator. This time I used elevator since the escalators were turned off and I needed the top floor. The screen is HUGE. I found that sitting in upper deck in front wasn't far back enough and prefer back and center to get the full view of the picture. Sound is very loud during previews and ads but quiets a bit for the film, which I was glad of. Seats are comfortable enough but they don't recline or have foot rests like many do now days. I didn't try to concessions bit they are huge and on each floor. read more

I love this theater. It's a big and clean theater with chill staff. I enjoy the free parking garage and how it doesn't ever get too crowded here. One of my go to theaters. I've seen so many movies here and the screens and sound are always good. One thing to note is that they do not have recliners though if you're looking for that. Last time I was here I talked with customer service to report a suspicious person...I usually don't do that but felt I needed to speak with a team member. The woman at customer service took the safety concern very serious and was extremely helpful and kind. I appreciate the staff here for always making the moment right. That day a staff member also helped me at the concessions with a free popcorn since we couldn't locate it in my app which was highly appreciated. The staff do a great job here! I will definitely be returning and do recommend this theater for a relaxed movie experience :) read more

I had tics for Warner Bros pre-screening of Final Destination Bloodlines. We parked under the theater in the garage for 3 free hours. And took the elevator to the theater. It was sooo packed in this space and ppl were saving seats and being rude about it. Im used to the first come, first serve seating but the tone & temperament was a bit wild on this one. We were offered reserved seating and it worked out but dang, yall gotta chill. The theater is definitely well worn and the seats are kinda small. But, it did it's job and the movie played seamless. Great Movie Venue To See Sequel Hits SITREP My lovely galpal Jenner and I were excited to see the new DUNE Part 2 in a great theater to have the best movie viewing experience and Regal Thornton Place did not disappoint! THE SETUP This dovetailed with a fun trip to visit my mother who lives in Northgate, and so this was an extremely convenient option to stay *close to home*, step out whilst letting mom take her afternoon nap, and then come back to her home after the movie - three (3) hours later - when her spunky self was already getting dinner ready for us. Sometimes life is good. NO CHANGE I gave it 4 stars last time. Staying at 4 stars. The only improved rating would have come if there had been significant discounts, better concession prices than other theaters, improved physical plant from the last visit, etc. etc. NONE of that was the case. I'll even be gracious and won't even knock off a star for Thornton NOT having those cool DUNE worm-shaped popcorn buckets that have been heavily promoted - sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. So nothing to have diminished the visit since last time. But neither anything to have *wowed* us since the last visit either. I have most heavily frequented Regal Cinemas in Thornton Place in my last year(s) of high school and when I was attending the University of Washington (to/through 2012). Since that time my movie-going has dropped off, though I still enjoy the relatively close proximity of the theater complex in Northgate. From where I currently reside, Shoreline as of writing this on Monday 30 October 2023, we can go south or north if we want a large movie theater complex to attend. Only one main drawback for coming south to this Regal Cinemas, because Thornton Place has a number of businesses, the area around the theater can get a bit cramped with non-movie going traffic. Thornton Place both contains and is near good food and places to shop and has a navigable parking set up. The movies offered are typically the current big name blockbuster titles, which is good if wanting to see a current big name film. Also helpful if wanting to see a couple movies over one weekend or back-to-back without driving to multiple theaters. Concessions offerings have been spot on in my experiences here. read more

First, the movie I went to was listed as starting at 10:20pm, commericials were already playing when I got to my seat at 10:15pm. The commericals kept playing until 10:40pm. Trailers started playing and didn't stop until 11:15pm. Absolutely unacceptable that the movie starts nearly one hour after the listing. On top of that, the sound was muddy and cranked to 11 - sure it was for an adventure movie but it simply doesn't need to be that loud. My Apple watch kept giving me alerts that the sound was over 90 decibels, which can cause ear damage at that level. My kids shouldn't be subjected to this in a popcorn movie. This is why movies are just better at home. Next time I'm going to wait a week and stream the movie. read more

Went to a movie as usual only to find I had to download and set up a parking app to park my car. Made me late for the movie. In addition while signing up for it I must have accidently clicked on something that signed me up for some scam media service that immediately began charging my credit card. A look at reddit shows dozens of other people having been scammed the same way by trying to set up this and other parking apps. It may not be the fault of the app, or the theater, but it's a huge vulnerability for anyone trying to go see a movie at your theater right now as they will be trying to sign up for this app while standing in your lobby late for a movie. Posting this honestly to hopefully get Regal to figure out why and how this is happening and to warn others when signing up for this app. And to be also very clear this is NOT the fault of the employees at the theater who did their best to help when I had questions about it. read more

I enjoy coming to this cinema. When I lived in northern Seattle, this was my go-to cinema, so I have visited multiple times. As others have mentioned, it's large, which isn't that unusual for Seattle. It has a nice vibe, fun, generally clean, pleasant staff, and super convenient location with free 3-hour parking. read more

Nice place, although not huge. Parking outside is very limited, but there are more parking in the complex down below. They have $6 Tuesdays, as well as occasional free advance movie screening that you need to go online to find. Services overall friendly, bathrooms are clean. Ok movie theater. Older seats with no recline. Escalators don't work and movies are normally on the 4th floor theater so either walk up 4 flights or wait a while for the elevator. They didn't give us our 3D glasses so we had to run downstairs to grab them before the movie started. They downgraded the soda lids to save money making the lids pop off easily and soda spills everywhere. AMC is another theater a mile away with recliner, heated seats so I would go there instead. read more

We always park in disability parking by the elevators. when we went inside I was asked what my license plate was; I didn't know this person, so I chose to speak to the manager. I was told that if I didn't sign in with my license plate, I would be fined! What?! They are taking pictures of our cars and plates! My friends and I have decided not to return. I came here to watch Dune with friends. First time in a movie theater in a long long time. Overall, meh. I wouldn't come here if it weren't for a cinematic IMAX movie like Dune. Felt like the screen was not very large for an IMAX theater. Not sure if they are standardized or anything but I just felt like it was kind of small. The sound system seemed a little off too - some times the music was too loud and I couldn't hear the words as well. I rarely go to the movies so I feel like I have pretty mediocre standards of a movie theater. I don't complain much of average movie theaters but I'm really surprised and happy to have this one near Northgate! LOCATION & PARKING // It's in this small shopping area a couple of blocks from the Northgate Mall (or what used to be the Northgate Mall). There are a couple of other restaurants nearby if you want to eat beforehand. There is underground parking here! Signs say it's free for 3 hours. I didn't have a problem finding parking on a Monday night. AMBIANCE // This place is enormous! There are multiple floors with a concession stand on each one. The theaters themselves are quite spacious as well. It definitely isn't one of those theaters where things look outdated or old. I was quite impressed with how modern everything was! SERVICE // I think it's rare to have service at a movie theater that's positive enough to write about! I don't expect much but they exceed my expectations. When I walked in, I was greeted by a staff member who helped me find out where to go. Ordering snacks here was also a great experience as they help the line move quicker and help you in a kind demeanor. OVERALL // 4.5 stars I really like this theater! Hadn't been to the theater in several years. Went to see Barbie with out of town guests and when we got there a fire drill happened right away and we had to clear out of the theater. Not Regal's fault. They gave us 4 new passes for next month--for 2021! Expired! Then we sat down to watch Barbie and they started to show Oppenheimer! Several people had to tell management that wasn't the right movie! Gee whiz! The expired passes were the worst part! No phone number to call and ask for new passes. This movie theater is fairly run-of-the-mill. The prices are average, the concessions are just OK, and the atmosphere is fine. The seats are fairly uncomfortable and halfway through the movie we went to see I found myself fidgeting quite a bit to try and get comfortable. Last time we went we chose 2 seats that were slightly right of what I would prefer because the seat map indicated our preferred seats were already sold. I'm pretty sure they were not sitting in their assigned seats but I didn't want to move & inconvenience anyone else. I understand doing this if the movie is new & very popular & they need to account for every seat. But when the theater is less than 50% full they shouldn't have assigned seats. The theater is next to Norgate Mall, with plenty of parking spaces in their underground garage. On the weekends, this place could be crowded to the point where tickets are hard to obtain. Fortunately, there are plenty of eateries across from the theater. I usually arrive early to purchase tickets for a movie in the late evening, and then have dinner at one of the restaurants across from the theater. One thing that I do not like about this place is that the ticket check is right at the door. We were so excited to finally go see a movie after more than two years of viewing on our laptops. It was a hot summer day in Seattle, so we especially looked forward to the cool indoor space. Everything seemed to be going normally at first. I ignored the staleness of the popcorn out of overall excitement to be out at the movies with my spouse, finally, after an excruciating wait for our young kid to be eligible for vaccine. We started out in the back row, but it seemed stuffy, increasingly so as the Jordan Peele movie rolled on. I suffer from asthma, and I wasn't feeling right. At first we moved forward, since this took us down toward some cooler air. But fifteen minutes later, the air felt stifling again. I was in denial because I was loving the movie and wanted this long-awaited date night to live up to our (basic) expectations. We were spending a lot on a sitter, an investment I'd hoped would lead to a good experience. As I sat there, though, I realized we are still in a pandemic here. If something isn't right with the air system, that could be dangerous for my immunocompromised spouse, for me with my asthma, for our kid and everyone in our social circle. And I wasn't making this up. It felt hot and still in there, like sitting in a tomb. I went out to talk with customer service. The employees were contrite and forthcoming about the fact that the HVAC was down. They tried to make things right for us. The more I thought about this, though, the more it galled me that someone at the managerial level or higher decided *not to disclose* that the HVAC was down in theater 1. Things break. I get it. But at the bare minimum, a business should inform viewers on the way in that there's an issue with the air flow--especially when it's hotter than 80 degrees outside during an airborne pandemic that has killed more than a million people in this country. They could have either shut down the theater or given people a choice to see another movie before they entered that space. It seems they decided it would cost them less money to pretend nothing was wrong and give refunds/free tickets to customers who complained. Suffice to say, I won't be returning to use my free tickets. read more

Had THE best customer service ever at the concessions! We went to see "Kung Fu Panda 4"...great movie! Kelley was so kind and showed us the S & M popcorn sizes when I mentioned that we purchased the L during our last visit & it was way too big, we hardly made a dent. Then I returned when my 9-yr-old son wanted a drink. He is very picky (& has sensory issues) & won't drink anything without ice. I asked if I could buy a bottle of water & get some ice on the side. Since the small soda cup was so BIG for a child, she showed me the kids size cup which wasn't on the menu. She also provided a plastic straw rather than paper to help his sensory issue. She totally understood my child's sensitivity which I really appreciated. There was another gal there helping out (so sorry I didn't get her name) but she was equally helpful. They were both so friendly, helpful & so accommodating. The entire staff at Thornton Place were superb from box office to ticket collector to concessions....we had a wonderful time! Sometimes one has to splurge to see first run movies versus waiting for it on DVD, Comcast On Demand, Netflix or bargain showings at the Crest (the lone movie theater in Shoreline). Seen countless movies here - especially with the kiddo. Also, for whatever reason, this location tends to have the movies we want to see versus what's featured at the Oak Tree Cinemas on Hwy 99/Aurora. Can't lose either with three hours free underground parking and great selection of nearby restaurants: (Five Guys (burgers), Subway, thai cuisine, Jewelbox Café, Kukai (yay for ramen!), Tengu (kaiten, conveyor belt sushi), and Watershed (w/ bar). Friendly, competent staff at the box office, ticket takers, and concession stand. Clean, comfortable seats and no sticky aisles. My only gripes are the exorbitant prices for concession items and what seems to be endless previews. Admission and concessions, pretty much one can buy two DVDs. But there are some movie titles, one has to see via the big screen. read more

There are too many ads and previews with deafening sound. When the feature starts, the volume is too low. The seats recline back too far and there's very little legroom, so sitting in the theater is quite uncomforable. Also, prices are high. I'll stick with SIFF, where there are comfortable seats, legroom and lower prices. read more

We paid $17 a ticket to see Barbie movie at advertised time. We expected a few previews at the begining before the movie began. Instead, we saw 25 minutes of advertising with some re iews between the ads!! We timed it and am not exaggerating. This is absurd and false advertising as to when the movie begins.
