I had tics for Warner Bros pre-screening of Final Destination Bloodlines. We parked under the theater in the garage for 3 free hours. And took the elevator to the theater. It was sooo packed in this space and ppl were saving seats and being rude about it. Im used to the first come, first serve seating but the tone & temperament was a bit wild on this one. We were offered reserved seating and it worked out but dang, yall gotta chill. The theater is definitely well worn and the seats are kinda small. But, it did it's job and the movie played seamless. Not my go to theater but for free, it'll work.

Great Movie Venue To See Sequel Hits SITREP My lovely galpal Jenner and I were excited to see the new DUNE Part 2 in a great theater to have the best movie viewing experience and Regal Thornton Place did not disappoint! THE SETUP This dovetailed with a fun trip to visit my mother who lives in Northgate, and so this was an extremely convenient option to stay *close to home*, step out whilst letting mom take her afternoon nap, and then come back to her home after the movie - three (3) hours later - when her spunky self was already getting dinner ready for us. Sometimes life is good. NO CHANGE I gave it 4 stars last time. Staying at 4 stars. The only improved rating would have come if there had been significant discounts, better concession prices than other theaters, improved physical plant from the last visit, etc. etc. NONE of that was the case. I'll even be gracious and won't even knock off a star for Thornton NOT having those cool DUNE worm-shaped popcorn buckets that have been heavily promoted - sometimes you get lucky, sometimes you don't. So nothing to have diminished the visit since last time. But neither anything to have *wowed* us since the last visit either. THE LOWDOWN A great option to enjoy a movie you are looking forward to seeing.

I have most heavily frequented Regal Cinemas in Thornton Place in my last year(s) of high school and when I was attending the University of Washington (to/through 2012). Since that time my movie-going has dropped off, though I still enjoy the relatively close proximity of the theater complex in Northgate. From where I currently reside, Shoreline as of writing this on Monday 30 October 2023, we can go south or north if we want a large movie theater complex to attend. Only one main drawback for coming south to this Regal Cinemas, because Thornton Place has a number of businesses, the area around the theater can get a bit cramped with non-movie going traffic. Thornton Place both contains and is near good food and places to shop and has a navigable parking set up. The movies offered are typically the current big name blockbuster titles, which is good if wanting to see a current big name film. Also helpful if wanting to see a couple movies over one weekend or back-to-back without driving to multiple theaters. Concessions offerings have been spot on in my experiences here.

I'll keep it simple. Open again for in-theatre viewing! Make your personal choices related to being in a crowd. I was very happy to see my go-to theatre open again. I generally go late at night, it feels like an extra treat to have this as the last thing of the day. Clean, good A/C, pre-selected seating. Go out and enjoy!!

Matinee viewing, it was very empty and clean!

I've been here a number of times. Nothing to complain about! Facilities are kept clean and most recently I saw a matinee for $13. Concessions are always pricey, a medium popcorn is $8.50. Also I had a water bottle I brought from home in a small bag and didn't have any issues. Otherwise bottled water is $5.

No bar/alcoholic drink options. OK seats that do not recline at all. Generally fine but only for shorter movies.

Are recliner seats in all of the theaters here?

They may have some in some of the theaters but was there two weeks ago and was in an imax auditorium that had normal seats.

Even during the homeless days with the Capitol Hill and U District tweens with patchwork jackets and dogs mobbing around in packs this theatre was in good condition. I have over 20 years of memories coming here watching indie movies like Pirana, docuseries to Siff films. I also watched plenty of blockbuster films. My fondest memory is the smell of the popcorn that fills the front space. It is so distinct and the melted butter and grease on my fingers rubbed on my movie ticket is nostalgic. I love the indie vibe of the workers. It was a polite Seattle cool, depending on the era a little emo and punk, with some grunge. The attitude was very U District. I hope this theatre can raise the funds to fix itself up. It is one of my favorites and I hope it doesn't get boarded up. It still has so much life left.

At this point it felt like it's mostly dependent on personal preference so I decided to go in and find out. I thought the place is decent. The biggest attraction is that tickets are probably the cheapest in the area. Regular ticket price is around $16 for Seattle but it's $10 at Varsity (as of December 2023). And you get a dollar off if you're a student. Also you don't even have to buy the student tickets in person because you could just order them online (other places like AMC downtown, you have to go in person). I made sure to bring my student ID in case if they want to check, but it was never checked onsite. I think it's a little more shabby than AMC and other more commercial theaters, but it does its job. The movie started on time and there were no issue throughout the movie. I wish they could just shut off the ads before the screen turns on at starting time because you're facing a blue screen that shows nothing while the ad is blasting. On the other hand, I liked that there aren't that many previews to watch through to get to the actual movie I came to see. The bathroom is two flights up the stairs from the ground floor. It's well kept and smells ok, but they probably have to check the toilet paper inventory more often. By the time I went in, there were no toilet paper left at all so I didn't forget to inform the staff that before leaving. The staff was polite and accepted my remarks in good spirit.

The original cinema was Lincoln Square Cinemas that they took over, which is a decent traditional multiplex with an IMAX screen and chairs arranged in stadium seating that actually lean back a bit. The lobby is open and has lots of room for displays promoting other films. On the left hall, the rows of screens is quite expansive which could make for quite a walk to the bathroom or to get concessions and bring them back. It might not be a bad thing to have some of them renovated to be like their Totem Lake location. The Cinemark Reserve is a whole other thing, and truth be told really deserves a separate Yelp entry. It is meant to be a premium experience. Like the iPic in Redmond it is an electroncially reclined seat with seat warmer and a table for a meal with waiter service. It's 21+ only and they serve alcohol. The finishes on the walls are slightly more premium but not too much above and beyond their newer Totem Lake location. There is a big lobby area for concessions but a lot of the walk-up food service areas have fallen into disuse after covid. Cost-cutting wise they're really pushing kiosk ticket buying, which is fine, but yesterday the printers weren't working, so the kiosks could take your credit card payment and then leave you with nothing. When they radioed for the manager it probably took half an hour for the manager to show up. I noticed the cost cutting at the original cinema too as the one person that could sell you a ticket is also the person who checks you in on entry. That being said, there really isn't an alternative to watch the latest blockbuster or buzzy indy/foreign film in the West Bellevue area than here and they do their reasonable best to ensure a good experience.

From what we've tried on the menu, I can recommend the quesadilla, the mac n cheese, the grilled cheese, and the fried chicken. The fries are really good. I've tried several cocktails and the mule is one of my favorites. The servers have always been really pleasant. One time a drink was not delivered that I had ordered but they didn't charge me for it without me having to ask. This movie venue isn't cheap. Tickets are $20 and the food menu isn't discount. The food is pretty good, and when I compare to what I'd pay for dinner and a movie elsewhere, IPIC comes out in that range.
