Fun at the Historic Admiral Theater!

I wanted to send a shout out to Danny, the manager of the Admiral Theater. He is friendly and helpful, and because of him, my party had an excellent experience watching The Penguin Lessons! Thank you Danny! You made our evening. I hope everyone supports this wonderful, historic theater!

Admiral Theatres is really cool and I don't know why it took me so long to try it! It is a smaller theater than your typical Regal or AMC, but they do have four screens and they play current movies. I watched the movie Parasite there. I didn't want to pay $5 to rent it from Amazon Video and I thought it would be nice to watch it as part of an audience. I went to a matinee (before 5 pm), so it only cost $11 (regularly $13.50). You can buy your ticket online, but I didn't want to pay a $1.25 per ticket convenience fee. When I showed up to the theater, there was basically one line where you can buy your ticket and concessions at the same time. I also purchased a small Coke and a popcorn. The popcorn was pretty good/fresh and they had a do-it-yourself butter station, which I always appreciate! Overall, I think it was probably cheaper than the snacks at a regular movie theater. The theater I was in was quite nice. The seats were comfortable, they had cup holders, and the floor was sloped enough so I had a good view of the screen. I thought the picture and sound quality were normal too. I remember the bathrooms being weird because they had the outer door propped open. I don't know if they just forgot to close those because it was the first show of the day or if they leave those open all the time. Oh yeah, it is also really hard to park in this area. Parking is free (if you can find a spot), but the spots are only for 2 hours and most movies are longer than that of course. Anyways, I still really liked this theater and I will be going again!

For the second time, no one showed up to open the theater for an early Saturday Met Opera show. No phone number to reach anyone.

A historical treasure that is also a great place to see movies as they were intended to be seen. Great popcorn.

Could very clearly hear the film playing next door during the movie. Really took you out of the experience. Nice seats.

Ask the Community - Admiral Theatres

Its been a long time since I was there and I recall it being run down with threadbare uncomfortable seats with the bottoms falling out. Has there been any remodeling or updating in say the last ten years to improve the condition? It was budget then.

I would like to say the best thing about theater is the people who work there. The worst is that…read morethe bathrooms are only on one floor (in between the two floors where the movies show). I am in a wheelchair so it's a pain to go up and down and wait for the elevator, which can be slow at times (and I had to cancel a trip due to the elevator being down one day). Other than that, it's usually quite clean and the food is usually hot and ready. However, they only have concessions on one floor, and there was a time I had to skip refreshments as no one was at the counter, I think they were in the back putting up new stock, and I had to leave due to my movie starting. A few times I missed out on specific food items as they were either totally out, or they didn't have an extra employee to go to where they stored it to get more. Understanding, but disappointed. I've worked retail all of my life, so I know how those things can happen. I would say they need to get new carpet, but that is a small quibble. I noticed a few people comment on the drink area being a mess. Usually, this is the direct result of rude customers, not cleaning up after themselves or not watching their children. Usually, the issue doesn't last long. It does get cleaned up. But if you are one of the people who are following the rude customers, you probably, don't care. You're just upset with what you are walking into. Just politely let one of the workers there know and I'm sure you they will tend to it right away. Unfortunately, the employees can't keep an eye on all of the customers all of the time, so, politely letting them know, will help them fix the problem. I recently moved close to the theater, so I am taking full advantage of their unlimited program. Very nice. I will say the selections of the classic movies, that are for one day only, can either be great or very lackluster. And for some reason in the summer, they don't show the extra movies (classics). The quality of the movies coming out can be rather hit or miss and lately, they have been more miss than hit, so it's always nice to have a classic movie to fall back on. I love how they show older B&W movies since TCM is no longer available to me. But I also love all of the classics from the B&W era through the 90s and even more current movies that have been out of the theater more than 5 years or so. It's always a great way to catch up to everything I missed before. I love movies. I have a huge physical media collection, but nothing replaces the magic of the Big Screen. Big pluses are the staff, the theaters are nice, 4DX is great (and even though you have to pay a surcharge if you have the unlimited pass, it's only a fraction of the full 4DX price). I would recommend if you go more than twice a month to get the unlimited pass, as it's a definite bargain. I would highly recommend this theater.

If I lived in Seattle I would be frequenting this Regal theater!…read more I moved from the Boise Idaho area to Puyallup, WA at the beginning of the year and one thing I had been missing from my time in Boise was seeing movies in 4DX! if you don't know what that is, it's an intense and thrilling amusement park style movie format with seats that move like a ride, and special effects like scents, water, flashing lights that happen throughout the movie! It's my favorite cinema experience and worth every penny but sadly Washington state only has this format at this theater an hour away from me. Me and my cousins were having a girls day in Seattle though and I suggested we see the new Michael Jackson movie in 4DX- it was incredible! I will return whenever possible to see a film in 4DX!

It was right in your face. I was lucky enough to get there early and was able to get in line early and get good seats - upper middle. I think this is the best seat. I imagine it wouldn't look as good if you sat really low or really on the edge though. There's no reserved seating so make sure you come here early. Also, the seats are really packed in tightly so once you go in, it's hard to get out. Get your bathroom break and concessions in early! Will be back here for Dune!

Had I known that it was going to be THIS packed, I would've shown up like an hour earlier! Secondly and this is huge, the fuckin seats don't recline. Do you have any idea how much my back hurt, sitting in tje fuckin neck-break row (The very front row) For THREE HOURS watching  DUNE 2??? Having said all of that, let me explain what I DID enjoy about my experience at The Boeing & PACCAR IMAX Theater at The Pacific Science Theater. It is the 2nd largest IMAX screen on the West Coast. The screen itself is 60 feet high by 80 feet wide & was introduced in 2015. The sound system is digital & is all encompassing in this somewhat dome-shaped theatre. After leaving the theatre, I am now considering getting a bigger smart TV (75-85 inches). The BEST addition, in my opinion, is that they have recently started selling craft beer & wine. Only local breweries & wineries so they are helping local businesses as well. Which is VERY fuckin cool. Now, would I recommend this theatre after all the bitching I just did? YES. NOW that I know what to expect, I can plan accordingly. Plus, this theatre has such a dedicated crowd of regulars. While I was there, it was apparent that a lot of these people enjoy seeing movies there and that made it suck a LITTLE less.

The original cinema was Lincoln Square Cinemas that they took over, which is a decent traditional multiplex with an IMAX screen and chairs arranged in stadium seating that actually lean back a bit. The lobby is open and has lots of room for displays promoting other films. On the left hall, the rows of screens is quite expansive which could make for quite a walk to the bathroom or to get concessions and bring them back. It might not be a bad thing to have some of them renovated to be like their Totem Lake location. The Cinemark Reserve is a whole other thing, and truth be told really deserves a separate Yelp entry. It is meant to be a premium experience. Like the iPic in Redmond it is an electroncially reclined seat with seat warmer and a table for a meal with waiter service. It's 21+ only and they serve alcohol. The finishes on the walls are slightly more premium but not too much above and beyond their newer Totem Lake location. There is a big lobby area for concessions but a lot of the walk-up food service areas have fallen into disuse after covid. Cost-cutting wise they're really pushing kiosk ticket buying, which is fine, but yesterday the printers weren't working, so the kiosks could take your credit card payment and then leave you with nothing. When they radioed for the manager it probably took half an hour for the manager to show up. I noticed the cost cutting at the original cinema too as the one person that could sell you a ticket is also the person who checks you in on entry. That being said, there really isn't an alternative to watch the latest blockbuster or buzzy indy/foreign film in the West Bellevue area than here and they do their reasonable best to ensure a good experience.
