The marquee
Shawn N.

What a charming and lovely little, single-theatre cinema we found on Rainier Ave S. The marquee is unassuming; in fact if you weren't looking for it, you would probably not know that the cinema was even there. Surrounded by businesses long ago closed, this gem behind windows that have no signage, only mini blinds, is truly a beacon of "feel good entertainment." We found free parking on the street close by the theatre. The customer service was excellent; we were greeted with a welcoming and cheerful hello. We paid for our tickets and food items in the same transaction. They offer premium beer on tap, along with bottled soft drinks and freshly popped popcorn; that the smell alone was mouth watering. They tell us that soon they will be offering up wine; so I look forward to that. They have a comfortable sitting area with tables just past the concessions; and right outside of the actual 50 seat theatre. This is a great area to sip on your drinks and talk to your friends before taking your seats. Inside the theatre, we found a beautiful big screen. I estimate it being 150inches big. The seats were comfy and set stadium style; no bad seat in the house. It gave the feeling like we were at home watching a great film, on a huge screen, with 40+ of our closest friends. The picture was clear and had great sound. Their line up of upcoming, older films hits dead-center into my heart. I can't wait to go back. I recommend you try this cinema out; you won't be disappointed.

Hello I love you. Perfect programming you won't see elsewhere, serving fresh popcorn and icy cold crispy cheap beer, which is all I need.

The original cinema was Lincoln Square Cinemas that they took over, which is a decent traditional multiplex with an IMAX screen and chairs arranged in stadium seating that actually lean back a bit. The lobby is open and has lots of room for displays promoting other films. On the left hall, the rows of screens is quite expansive which could make for quite a walk to the bathroom or to get concessions and bring them back. It might not be a bad thing to have some of them renovated to be like their Totem Lake location. The Cinemark Reserve is a whole other thing, and truth be told really deserves a separate Yelp entry. It is meant to be a premium experience. Like the iPic in Redmond it is an electroncially reclined seat with seat warmer and a table for a meal with waiter service. It's 21+ only and they serve alcohol. The finishes on the walls are slightly more premium but not too much above and beyond their newer Totem Lake location. There is a big lobby area for concessions but a lot of the walk-up food service areas have fallen into disuse after covid. Cost-cutting wise they're really pushing kiosk ticket buying, which is fine, but yesterday the printers weren't working, so the kiosks could take your credit card payment and then leave you with nothing. When they radioed for the manager it probably took half an hour for the manager to show up. I noticed the cost cutting at the original cinema too as the one person that could sell you a ticket is also the person who checks you in on entry. That being said, there really isn't an alternative to watch the latest blockbuster or buzzy indy/foreign film in the West Bellevue area than here and they do their reasonable best to ensure a good experience.

AMC FACTORIA 8 @ BELLEVUE…read more This AMC has parking available right out front, and there's plenty of space. It can get busy at times, but luckily I was still able to find a spot without any trouble. The theater itself is on the smaller side, but it's really nice inside. My friend and I went to watch The Housemaid, and if you go during the afternoon on a weekday, tickets are 20% off. We ended up going after 4 PM, so tickets were about $18 each, and we also got a regular popcorn for $11. Overall, I really loved the experience, the reclining seats were super comfortable, and I'm a huge fan of recliners because they make everything feel so much cozier. The movie was really good as well, and while there were about 30 minutes of ads, that's clearly mentioned when you purchase tickets online, so there's no pressure to arrive exactly on time. There also weren't many people sitting near us, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and gave it an overall great vibe.

What I like about this theater is, *ticket purchases online to reserve seats. *you can order a kid's package for popcorn, drink, full size candy! *the seats are super comfortable and you can adjust as needed. *Always friendly service. *I love the self serve sodas. Too many almost to chose from and I don't drink soda regularly but it is fun to mix and match. *Parking is super convenient and plenty of it. *bathrooms are clean! Tip, women's bathroom has more stalls at the end around the corner if you come in and it is full. I understand there are probably larger theaters and also some that serve booze, but if you are looking for a theater which is primarily focused on playing moving and serving standard movie theater food this is your spot! Ok this place is super cool. I can't believe I only found out about this venue recently!…read more To get to the theater, you go around the corner from the bar entrance and through this back alleyway door. It feels very covert, like you need to know a guy who knows a guy with a password to get in. You can also enter through the bar (I think). We initially went through the side door to get our tickets scanned in and then went in and out of the bar between acts to grab a drink. We weren't able to bring drinks into the actual theater, but not a huge deal. If anything, keeps the venue cleaner. There aren't any seats, just tiered standing platforms. Honestly, even with it being packed, I felt like we had a pretty good view of ~80% of the stage. The one thing I will say is that with everyone standing, you would think there'd be more movement/dancing. But alas, this is still Seattle and most people were bopping their heads to the music while I just wanted to swing around and feel it in my soul.

There is available street parking however it can be tricky and limited due to the narrow streets. The theater shares an entrance with a jazz bar which provides a comfortable seating area to enjoy a drink while waiting for a show. We came to see the Rocky Horror Burlesque Pastie Show and was impressed at the capacity of this small theater. Beyond the hallway, patrons are immediately welcomed to second bar and a sea of padded chairs. The theater was packed with Rocky Horror Picture fans with some proudly wearing costumes of their favorite characters. The show started a little later than advertised however we were kept entertained during the slight delay. The seats were comfortable and we had an unobstructed view of the stage. This was our first time seeing a Rocky Horror Show in burlesque and we didn't know what to expect. Audience participation was encouraged and specific names (which I will not repeat) were yelled out when either Brad or Janet took the stage. Overall, a wonderful group adventure night full of sing-a-longs, heckling, and cocktails. Drink prices and show tickets were cheap compared to other venues.

In the lobby and waiting area is a lot of fun with the lounge chairs and pool tables. Parking is validated up to three hours. Easy validation with them. My only complaint is that I wish they offered more vegan or at least one full vegan entree. Not many people are going to the movies these days and here's an easy idea to change that maybe offer a vegan dish on the menu.. I was creative and got a pizza with no cheese. so vegetable pizza which was dough , red sauce and veggies. Some might find this surprising, but it was actually pretty good. Alternatively, I think they have burgers with cheese that you could substitute for black bean patty no cheese but again why can't they just make one dish on the menu that's exclusively for vegan diets instead of forcing people to do all these modifications?! no one likes modifications.

It made the whole evening very special and fun.
