If I lived in Seattle I would be frequenting this Regal theater! I moved from the Boise Idaho area to Puyallup, WA at the beginning of the year and one thing I had been missing from my time in Boise was seeing movies in 4DX! if you don't know what that is, it's an intense and thrilling amusement park style movie format with seats that move like a ride, and special effects like scents, water, flashing lights that happen throughout the movie! It's my favorite cinema experience and worth every penny but sadly Washington state only has this format at this theater an hour away from me. Me and my cousins were having a girls day in Seattle though and I suggested we see the new Michael Jackson movie in 4DX- it was incredible! I will return whenever possible to see a film in 4DX! read more

Regal Meridian is a little fancier than its nearby counterpart AMC Pacific place, but with fanciness, comes a little higher cost. I like how the ticket lobby is as soon as you walk in along with a guest service staff member in case you have questions. There are often freebies or in the case of my first visit was a wheel you could spin after donating that could net you some goodies. The theater seats recline which is huge. It definitely makes for a relaxing viewing experience, especially after sitting in the average theater seat. The concession area is on the second floor, and this is where Regal takes a bit of a dip. When I was trying to get a coke Slurpee, it was out. I mean out out, for like 10 minutes. All this time the attendant was trying to persuade me to get something else. How your Slurpee machine down like that when it's only starting to get busy? Eventually I got it. I got some Movie themed cocktails but when my friend wanted to get more, they refused, unless both people were present to collect the drinks. So, you're telling me both people have to get up in the middle of the movie if they each want a cocktail? Lame. Once you're in the actual theatre, things are great, but my last visit here is a reminder of why I usually just skip concessions and eat before or after a show. read more

I have not watched a movie IRL for a while, and seeing the $20+ price tag for the movie definitely reminded me why streaming services have been able to outcompete brick and mortar movie theaters. We came to Seattle to drop our kid off at camp. I have been wanting to go to a 4DX movie for what seems like ever so of course I had to make a stop. We saw How To Tame Your Dragon and it was like being in the movie. You felt like you were flying on a dragon. I'm assuming it was most people's first 4DX experience as well because of the bursts of laughter that would erupt from every corner of the theater when the chair moved. Lots of gasps in awe from the kids everytime the smoke appeared. Screams of excitement everytime the water hit everyone. This was one heck of an experience. I'm so glad we enjoyed it with a fun and enthusiastic jam packed theater. By your tickets early!!!! They sell out and they sell out fast for the 4DX! The escalator was under construction so if you have mobility issues use the elevator. They also have more than one concession stand so if the first one has a huge line.... Just go up to the next floor. I will be making my family drive back to Seattle just to see another 4DX movie. read more

Came here for the first showing of F1 on a Saturday on opening weekend and the theater was full. Why? Because it was the 4DX theater, where the seats are shaped like barber chairs but it feels like your on Disney's Soarin' ride where your chair moves in sync with the action. Because it was a racing movie, Sis and I knew the movement would be crazy but we weren't prepared for it to be so jarring that wed need seatbelts to stay in the seats. We kept having to sit back up after a race because we'd slowly slide out of our seats and somethimes the moviement was so violent I thought we'd be bucked from out seats. I've done 4DX before and sometimes it's just in a modified recliner chair, so it feels like you're getting a light massage. Another time I was watching a western so you could feel the gait of a slow clip clop but it was something not worth remembering. The seats at this theater not only move rough, but in one scene where the ride was smooth, it felt like we were gliding. When the seat is in action mode, you'll feel the rumble of the car, the knock of the gear shifting, you feel the impact because it feels like someone is kicking your back, you feel the speed when the air spigot near your ankles whips a little fabric on your feet, and then the lights flash on and off to emulate some of the action and when there's an explosion you see smoke in the theater and when it rains on screen, you feel mist sprinkle ono you. It was fabulous. We're trying to figure out which will be our next movie at the theater. The only reason I dropped a star for this review is because the rugs and the floor of the elevator were sticky and the escalators were all shut off and inoperable. But overall we were nicely suprised by the 4DX experience. read more

We went to the Regal Meridian for a 6:30 showing on a weekday, and honestly, good movie theaters in the city are hard to come by, but we really liked this one! The theater was clean, and the service was quick, which we appreciated. The theater we sat in was on the smaller side, but that actually worked in its favor because there was tons of personal space. The recliner chairs and little tables were a game-changer. Super comfortable and made the experience so much better. It was also nice and cold inside, which other theaters lately have been missing. The snack selection was great, and while the staff wasn't overly enthusiastic, they were friendly enough. Long Review. If you want the basic break down skip to the end. If you want explanations read on. SO. Let me just start by saying, I see a LOT of movies. But im a typical AMC guy. Why? Their corporatization makes it hard to find any variation in what to expect at the theatre. Tonight however, I decided to go against my better judgement and go to Regal. WHY, you may ask? The answer is simple. Beetlejuice 2 premiered, and being a fan boy I simply had to have the merch that regal promoted online for the movie release. Now I know this may seem petty but think about it. I took the time to do my homework first. Regal announced online and social media that they would be offering the sand-worm popcorn bucket. (If you are confused simply google it) Now after doing my research I called the Regal Meridian and after quite a process just to speak to a human (who I must give credit where its due, was extremely helpful and polite). While speaking to the local staff I inquired if they would be among those to offer this merch. They confirmed that yes they would. SO eagerly anticipating this I pre-purchased early release tickets for a friend and I and we made it a night. HOWEVER I was disappointed upon arrival to find that they did not offer said merchandise. (Disappointing). Next. I was pleased to see they offer a full bar. However I found the entire process quite cumbersome. The bartender refused to sell more than one shot at a time; which Im sure is not his fault and is policy however it was super weird and over priced. I wanted to add a double shot to my fountain drink and he completely forbade this. So my friend and I had to order 1 shot each, pay for them. Consume them. And then repeat the process with a max of 2 shots each. And a total of nearly $60... If you wanna drink, I recommend you pregame, or use that purse. Next on to the theatre. Now this is a 3-4 story establishment ( cant remember exactly) however what I do remember is that we arrived on the 1st floor and our theatre was on the TOP floor, and the escalator was closed....so 4 flights of steps we hiked up, and the facility was super hot/muggy inside. Despite seeing the movie in 4DX (a fun immersive experience) the theatre itself was just FAR TOO HOT, and I everyone near us and in my party were sweating (except when the fans kicked on for theatrical appeal) OVERALL Breakdown: Cost: 3/5 Service: 2/5 Atmosphere: 1/5 OVERALL: 1/5. I went to guest services around 12:15PM today1/17/26 with a question, and the heavy-set guy working there was really not friendly, you could tell he was annoyed with us the whole time. It made what should have been a simple interaction kind of uncomfortable. That said, the theater itself and the facility is nice, and the seats are comfortable. I just think guest services might want to consider hiring someone who's more approachable, welcoming, and genuinely happy to help, because a little friendliness goes a long way in making the experience better for everyone. read more

The one star off is for the insane price of everything. Most expensive popcorn I've ever seen. We saw Fire & Ash in 4DX and it was fantastic. It was wilder than I thought it would be and I hope it never changes. It really put you into the action and I about jumped out of my seat the first time I was struck in the back with one of the characters being hit because I wasn't expecting it. The experience of going to this theater just fell short at every single turn. Parking was probably the highlight of the trip and had almost nothing to do with Regal itself. I found parking nearby at an underground structure. Took a ticket. When I got back to the structure, the machine in the lobby was broken, but it said you could just pay as you leave. I paid like $10 or so as I left. No big deal. Next, walking to the theater, two groups of people were confused about how to get in. They have some words on the glass saying where to go in, but it's a very non-descript door - as if they're telling people they want to be hidden and they're fine with people just walking on by. When I walked in, it didn't feel like a movie theater in 2024, but more like a local theater in a small town who'd gone all in on digital kiosks. They had one employee taking tickets. It was dirty. It was dated. The lighting was depressing. The escalator was broken (it's 3 stories). We had bought our tickets online, so no biggie... didn't really have to deal with it, just showed our phone to the usher, they said what theater we were in, and said it was on the third floor. We hiked up the stairs since the escalator was broken and we didn't slow down enough to find the elevator (no biggie, though). There's no concessions on the first floor - just the unmanned kiosks in a dark dingy corner that make it feel depressing and lifeless. I think maybe you have to go to the second floor for concessions. We were in one of those 4DX theaters, so weren't too keen on concessions, so we skipped it. That ended up being a good move - lots of people in the 4DX movie had popcorn all over the place. 4DX is this thing where the seats move, kind of like a roller coaster, and they spray you with mist/wind/etc. When I tried to look it up on Regal's site, they had the most vague page about it imaginable - as if trying to dissuade people from going by being purposefully vague (my one sentence description is literally more info than they have on their own page). The website page says it's "innovative" and "technology", but doesn't say all that goes into it, and then they have some warnings. Super bizarre. When we got to the theater, we had assigned seats (again, 4DX... I dont know if they do that for all movies), and we found them pretty easily. The seats are kind of stiff and don't have seatbelts or anything. Your feet are on foot rests off the ground. You still get a cup holder. It was fine. The house lights were on, which was odd... and nothing was playing on the screen. Don't know if this is a 4DX thing or just Regal, but it was super weird - we were there like 5 or 10 mins early and it was just SILENCE for that whole time. At other theaters, they'll have at least something playing - music or trivia... ads... whatever. Overall, 4DX was a somewhat cool experience, but I wouldn't go out of my way to do it, especially at this poor-quality theater. I'd rather go to a "good" theater and see IMAX if I was something "extra special" - even just a normal theater with recliner seats is a good experience. Oof. SPEAKING OF THE ADS. The movie was supposed to start at 12:45PM, but it had 30 MINS of ads before the movie started. That's double the normal amount that I tend to see, so it was notable to the point I looked at my wife for each new ad and was like... "REALLY... MORE?!" We were both aghast. They had generic ads like you'd see on TV until 12:57. Basically 15 mins of TV ads. I just paid for a theater ticket, this isn't some "freemium" experience... like a mobile game you download for free. After that, they played movie previews -- which ended at 1:15PM. If I could give a 2.5 stars I would. This was not the most pleasant of movie theaters, starting with the personnel. We had some issue with the app so we asked the person who takes the tickets, and he began to sigh heavily as he entered the number by hand. Every time he had to enter something, he'd look at my friends phone and get the code and then SIGH heavily as if it was so much work. He would tersely tell people who had paper tickets to go ahead, and finally called his manager. The theater itself is older, staggered seating with plush chairs, NOT updated to stadium seating that is the current standard in most places I've visited. The sound was fine, and concessions was alright, though having to walk up 2 flights of stairs with a bum knee to use the restroom wasn't on my list of top 5 things to do today. By the large windows, the chairs are all damaged, the leather upholstery is ripped from the seats and looks rather underwhelming. Overall, it's a sad representation of the brand. read more

They give you a movie time and then make you sit through at least a half hour of ads and then a bunch of trailers before the movie starts so the actual movie time is 30-40 minutes after the posted one. The machines to buy the tickets in the lobby require you to go through an inordinate amount of steps to get your ticket. They're antiquated. The floors are sticky and the interior dusty. The bathrooms are inconveniently located up or down stairs. The staff is indifferent. The popcorn lousy. read more

For the chairs and tables alone, I would give this theater 5 starts. I love feeling cozy and having a place to rest my snacks on while watching a movie. I dig that this theater sells the Cheetos & Hot Cheetos popcorn too! There is still room for improvements. Personally, I think there needs to be better food options aside from popcorn, candy, and nachos. It would be nice to have a couple of meal options since you do have a table to rest a plate on. And as what other reviews have mentioned, there is an escalator that hasn't been repaired in years. I hope they'll get around to fixing it. Great place to watch a movie downtown. The theater is clean and Covid precautions are in place. You can reserve your seat ahead of time and they are comfortable leather reclining chairs. There are a variety of snacks to choose from including pizza. Also, if you want an adult beverage, there are several to choose from to enjoy during the movie. No complaints here. read more

I know some of the building architecture is from a long time ago, but why so many stairs - plus, the escalator was broken, so I get it, but it was rough for some folks as I observed (didn't seen an elevator?) I don't care how great a movie is (and today's movie was great), I don't care how comfortable the seats are (and the Regal Meridian has super comfy and clean seats), if you subject me to a full half hour of meaningless ads after the advertised start time of a film, before the film actually begins, you're going to lose me as a customer. Especially when a matinee ticket is $14. I canceled cable to get away from ads. I don't watch live TV because of ads. I canceled Paramount+ because they show ads even on the ad-free tier. I am not shocked to see the reviews and the overall rating of the Regal theater being so negative. We went to see the noon Top Gun on Sunday, and wanted to try the 4D concept. The movie was a 5. Incredible. The 4D became a bit bothersome. At times there was unnecessary movement of the seat. It was ok. Likely will not do it again. The issue is the overall operations of the theater. Oh my. Doors do not open until 11:30...30 minutes before showings begin. Grab your seat, purchase concessions, use the rest room...not much time. A gentleman stood on the other side of the door as he was bound to not open any earlier than needed. There were 15 people waiting outside. There was no friendliness by any of the staff. I over heard two females comment how rude one person was as he wouldn't respond to their question. Oh, and if feel like an early beer for the movie...nope. Not open until 4:00 PM. Why? My daughter commented, "don't they know of Sunday Funday?". And I would (sarcastically) dread the extra sales by having everything open. I realize there is a staffing crisis existing...but I saw adequate amount of people working. Now they need to smile, actually talk to the customer, and be helpful. read more

So I hate movie theaters, generally. They're expensive and inconvenient, and people are so damn annoying all the time. However, we wanted to see "The Last Rider," and it was playing here. And since my wife had gotten a gift card for Regal, she pre-ordered seats for an 11-something AM showing. We figured it wouldn't be too crowded at that time, and parking and everything would also be easier. For the first time ever, we were right! There ended up being one other person in the theater, which is probably the main reason for why this was a fun experience. There was no talking, texting, or seat kicking! Instead, we could focus on the film, on all of the foot room, on the $9 small popcorn, and on the 55-gallon medium cherry-Pepsi Icee that we shared. Granted, there were surely more people at the other movies that weren't documentaries about a bicycle racer from the 80s, but the place wasn't crawling with customers, so I think even the popular films weren't crammed. Go to the movies on a Saturday morning, and maybe you'll have a positive experience too. read more

So I've watched 2 movies here so far, one in a regular standard view with reclining seats, and recently with wakanda forever in 4dx! Both movies were great but hands down 4DX was a thrill ride! Overall the theatre was great although it was kinda strange getting around. Main floor is getting tickets and questions, floor 2, and 3 had all the concessions, the restrooms were on the top floor. They do offer alcoholic beverages during the evening showings to make your movies more enjoyable What I really enjoyed the most was having to experience watching any movie in 4dx! You sit in a regular seat, and mind you the layout of the seats are a bit narrow, but the seats were comfy. They aren't like your regular seats that just rocks, these seats move! AND I MEAN MOVE MOVE! While watching the previews the seats are programmed to move with the movie. It sways backs and forth and jerks with the motions. So I do warn you if you get motion sickness this theater isn't made for weak tummy's! Not only does the seats move but it also matches the weather in the movie! Say if a scene is windy and raining. The fans will be on, and water actually sprays you! I've never reacted hilariously to this but I had water sprayed on me! Everything about this theatre was great! It really made the movie watching experience the best! Now for the cons. What made my experience question this place was why the bathroom was all the way up in the 3rd floor?! The lobby still had games, but it was very outdated. I wish they would serve alcohol drinks during the day like a regular bar. But I guess there's rules right?! Haha also I hate how the escalator wasn't working. It was horrible. Overall this has been my favorite theatre to watch a lot of good movies.
