After reading some of the negative reviews, they are all related to my issues, if you don't want to believe me, believe the trend. See below for details. I was very pleased with my pool and service for the first couple of months, but then the problems started. In short, they do a fair job on the structural, but they use cheap materials for the cosmetic part (plaster, tile, grout, pavers, turf, etc.). Quality of materials used and unresponsive to warranty. Most of the issues will appear around the 6-month mark, then they'll tell you they are very busy and please be patient someone will address it, then when your warranty expires, they say is your fault or it is normal. Full disclosure, they did address some minor issues as a "favor". But some of the issues came back because the problem is the quality of the material they used/offer. Their pricing is above most pool builders by at least 50% - I assumed paying premium was a way of having certainty I wouldn't go through this. I was wrong. There were several (minor?) issues when the pool was finished, but I was told "It is normal or will correct itself", after a few months passed they were "gracious" on coming and fixing some of the things I was complaining about, mostly cosmetic and one related to the pumps. Issues: - Pool pump will shut down after using the spa or just by switching it on. They fixed this with some sort of regulator at no cost. - Paid for an upgrade on the water scuppers, they rusted very quickly (I would assume they used element resistant material, or high quality, but I was wrong). After MANY emails and probably a year after, they finally "fixed" it by applying a coating that will prevent rust, so far it has worked, but I am sure this will be a problem in the months to come. - Stone pavers, they looked great for the first 2 months... after a couple of heavy rains, they are all misaligned some sank, some popped up. This upgrade was expensive, and they don't sand by the quality they announce. - Plaster. from day 1 i noticed the color was not uniform. I asked them and they told me it was normal and will become uniform as I brush or clean my pool. A year after, the pool looked the same. They came back and did an acid wash of the pool. The plaster color now is uniform but not the color I selected, also I got an upgrade to have shiny shell bits and after the acid wash, they are now white dots. After I asked for a resolution, they are deaf to my questions and they only response I am out of warranty, even when plaster is 10 years. On top of everything, the plaster is falling off. - Water sheer descent. They installed a descent where the water flows in chunks, not as a single downflow, so it looks weird. They say is my fault because I don't clean it. Although I clean it, I don't think is supposed to act that way. A second service person came and said, Oh we have to open the thing a bit more, he did, improved a little but same outcome. To the point we never use the sheer descent, because it looks ugly. - Tile and Grout. The tile we picked at the design center is not made for pool or outdoor, it absorbs the elements in the water and environment and became stained. The grout they use is permeable as well, so scaling surfaced easily. Had issue also with the coping, turf, and other minor things that I decided to leave out, so the post is not even longer. They also claim to be ALL-American, and most of the contractors they use are immigrants (nothing wrong with that). But just beware, it is just another lie. I don't know how a company can say to you "God bless" when they are so dishonest. read more

Any reasonable person who looks at this brief review (as well as my others), its photographs, and for those who can find it, my report, will conclude that Regal Pools did an abysmal job in many aspects of building and maintaining our pool. What's far worse, is that they put us through serious pain getting them to fulfill their warranty obligations. There's also much more that I've never even shared. Despite numerous notes, reminders, and warnings, Regal pools was not able to maintain our pool in a reliable or trustworthy manner. Most recently I found the gate I had installed to keep my children away from my equipment had been broken by their technicians, with no notification to us. Appointments have been missed without explanation, and they dumped salt into my pool when it had been being treated as a chlorine pool for years. Cannot and will not recommend. read more

I had a pool light fail, and Regal was quick to respond and schedule the repair. I had a pool pump fail and Regal was quick to schedule repairs and get it done. Have used these guys for several years with no problems After the freeze my pool pump motor would not work I called and they told me they would come out and charge me $175 to review the problem. I asked if this was how they treated their existing customers? They didnt care I told them they were "price gouging" Anyway, called my neighbors guy who came out for $100 and applied that to the service he gave me. He soon got my pump up and running. Once we met with Chase our designer, we were sold. One meeting, and he took our vision to paper. His rendering was so lifelike, even showing us night time views of our soon to be oasis. Just when we thought things couldn't get any better, we were assigned the most amazing pool contractor, Andy. Andy was so down to earth, but also knew how to get the job done. Andy and team were amazing! Always in communication on the status of the project, delays, what was expected the next few weeks. The entire project was finished before their promised deadline, and the process was so smooth from start to finish. First, let me say that I am a very satisfied owner of a pool built by Regal Pools three years ago. They performed on time, on budget , and delivered as promised a beautiful backyard pool and living area. My current issue is from the pool service specifically related to my pool heater that was damaged from this year's freeze. I had a signed contract from April with a price from them to replace the heater. Now in October it has finally come in and they send me a price increase of $ 400.,00. I was told they were not going to sell them below their cost. My issue is no communication on a price increase until my unit had come in and was told I am under no obligation to purchase from them, No matter what I had signed before. I am not ever going to have them perform service on my equipment now as a matter of principle because they can't be trusted, they will not honor their own pricing agreements, and apparently they don't care about it. UPDATE: Since my initial writing I was contacted by the Regal service department and was offered to make the original price good and the installation at the original quoted price plus refunding the difference paid. I accepted the offer and they performed the installation the next business day and did a superb job. The only reason I am giving three stars is from having to go through this process in the first place to have them do as agreed. They are very capable and do great work overall. read more

They respond to any request, big or small, exactly the same and bend over backwards to make people's vision for a Pool their reality! There's nothing negative I could say about them. Worse service ever! We had our pool built through them and not long after there's a leak.... they refuse to accept the fact that there's a leak and keep giving me the round abouts. I did my research before picking a pool builder but I am highly disappointed in selecting them.... ithere is water constantly coming out from the pool but they keep on insisting that it's normal! I would like to start by saying I'm sure this is a review Regal saw coming. I would also like to say this is my first pool build, so quality and ease of construction I have nothing to compare to. We took 2 years to decide on pool builders, to say we did our due diligence is an understatement. We had over 50 pool bids in 2 years and ultimately decided on Regal pools Bc of personal references and constant reviews of how detail oriented they were. They were certainty not the cheapest and in fact 1 of the most expensive, but we came to the conclusion that " you get what you pay for " and we wanted a beautiful investment into our home so we only wanted the best. Unfortunately little did we know that was going to have be something we fought for and stay on top of 24/7 the entire pool and outdoor kitchen build. Corey was our salesman he Said everything you wanted to hear and in the process over promised and under delivered . Ultimately he was fired a few weeks into our pool build. Dustin our PM was knowledgeable and very helpful to the extent he could be but either my standards were too high or his are too low Bc what i found acceptable for 6 figure pool build and what he did weren't even close. My thoughts were that he would be checking on the work completed by each contractor as it was completed to be able to spot any in-discrepancies that would need to be addressed and that i would not have to follow up. But so many mistakes were being made that I essentially became my own PM. I was constantly told " wait till the end it will all come together " but the mistakes made were so big at time ( Roof lines not matching up) that waiting like requested resulted in the contractors having to tear up previous work to fix the issue which should have been addressed and fixed the day I told them it happened which was 3 weeks prior to them addressing it. We finally had both owners Josh and Edwin come out Bc at this point we were not only behind schedule but extremely frustrated with the process and the blatant mistakes and disregard for the money we were spending. This meeting went very well and we were assured by both owners that we would be put at top priority and everything would be fixed and back on track for completion within 2 weeks. We broke ground July 6, our completion date was last week! A 20 week pool build! They would come fix something and break something else or need to mortar a waterfall but have the wrong grout color and instead of getting right grout color would splat bright white/grey grout on a dark brown waterfall! It stuck out like a sore thumb! Helen Keller would have seen it! We had Josh out a 2 nd time this meeting he was a little more arrogant and i think agitated we kept making him come out. He kept saying you have a beautiful pool and backyard, well I'm glad he thought so, too bad I'm the one paying for it and I don't agree with him. When they sprayed pebble sheen the contractors were like young boys peeing in a toilet it was EVERYWHERE including my fence and stone of my brand new outdoor kitchen almost 10-15 ft away from the pool! Bright blue pebble sheen all over our brand new decking and it wasn't coming up even after multiple acid wash and power washing! Ultimately the stone sealer contractor we paid to come back after Regal was through had to fix their mistakes Bc Regal wasn't. Anyone can make a pool Look beautiful in a picture, heck you could look at my backyard at a whole and think it is def gorgeous but it's the details that set pool companies apart from your avg pool company and the best. I paid for the best and that not what I got, ultimately we had to settle just to be done with the process. We just completed pool School and already they had to shut down our ozone system Bc it was pumping too much air into the pump and the service tech said this isn't good for the pump. So he shut it down until the plumbers can come out to fix it. And now this falls under "warranty work" ....haven't even swam in the pool yet and we are already doing "warranty work. DO NOT use REGAL POOLS. We hired them to complete an in ground spool with waterfall, decking, landscaping, and fireplace and it has been a nightmare. We signed contracts April 11 and were told our pool and landscaping would be completed by the end of June. Everything was completed in OCTOBER! The company is very UNPROFESSIONAL and gave us the run around the entire time. We have spoken with Josh (owner), Jessie (contractor) without getting things resolved in a timely fashion throughout the process. Cory (designer) gave us misinformation on multiple occasions and had ultimately caused multiple setbacks with the design since the plans given to the mason were incorrect. The landscaping was also underbid and cost an additional $4400! They also SUBCONTRACT everything and there is no recourse when things are not completed properly. This company requires constant supervision on the home owners part because they try to CUT CORNERS. We haven't even had our pool completed for a month and already have WARRANTY issues!!!!! Our filter pump had to be fixed and we currently have no heat going to the spool making it unable to use. I have pages of documentation with how terrible this company is and will be happy to provide it. The only positive professional thing I can say about this company is at least they finished the project and it looks beautiful - its just unfortunate that right now the heat DOES NOT WORK. I will continue to post reviews on this company as I go through the warranty process with them. I should have been posting reviews for the last 7 months to warn away other potential home owners - I am sorry if anyone else got suckered into their marketing of padded good reviews but if you go back and read ALL of them you can see the truth that this is a terrible company. read more

Agree with previous reviewer. After requesting an estimate for a pool and being recommended by friends, we had a less than positive experience. Joe came out on Monday and here it is Friday and we have no additional information. Although we were told we would have designs sent to us in a few days, we have received no further communication. After telling Joe of our budget, his demeanor changed. He was very pompous and not interested. They are not as willing to work with someone who is "only" willing to spend $50-60k on a pool vs. unlimited budgets. In fact, they become disinterested. Funny thing is he stated he didn't even own a pool, so I'm not sure where his pompousness comes from. I guess we are not worthy. I couldn't imagine if there was an issue while building or thereafter what the service would be like. read more

A pool is a HUGE investment. I selected Regal based on several previous reviews and several awards they had won. I was not looking for a basic pool. Our budget was between $60-$80k. I don't know about most people but for us, this was a huge investment. The only reason I did not give 1 star is because the site visit went well. However, everything after that was mediocre at best! Carlos came and saw the property. We have several challenges including a grade change, a barn which needed a wall, and a very large above ground garden. I told Carlos our wish list items and trusted, that as a designer from an AWARD WINNING pool company (who is not the cheapest on the block), he could do his magic and integrate all these things into one great creation. He was courteous, friendly, and prompt in returning our design. What we got back was a plain, generic, irregular shaped pool. Not a big deal but extremely lackluster for this price range and their reputation. We also received a design from Ocean Blue Pools the same day. They came in with elevation changes, some stairs, some flagstone areas, a suggested extended seating area, and a very clever way to incorporate this very large vegetable garden. On top of that it was well within our budget for the same equipment listed in Regal's brochure. Giving Regal the benefit of the doubt, I then went back and asked for a rough cost estimate. Maybve this was supposed to be basic and we move up from there? I was told that we had to come in and select ALL the materials, confirm the design, and then we could talk numbers. What design? There was no design. It was a PLAIN pool! I am not going to totally design the ENTIRE pool when I can't even determine if Regal is in the same ball park as this other pool company. Yes, let me sit down for hours and pick out everything for a pool whose design is very basic to begin with! Are you crazy! I then asked for standard materials and equipment per their brochure and explained that I work all day and I need a basic estimate to compare to see if I even wanted to move forward with this project. I received NO ANSWER WHATSOEVER! The great reviews are for different people. Maybe they are great but Carlos was not. There are several creative pool companies out there who want your money and will work a little harder for it. I think Regal may be too big for their britches. read more

Our overall experience with Regal Pools has been amazing! We are very satisfied with our team- Josh Buzell and Cory Adams! They both are very attentive and always ready to help with suggestions, changes and making sure we are comfortable though out this process. We met with Josh in Nov 2015. He has been very efficient and creative through out our pool building process. He created a 3D design of the pool in one day! (Talk about being on task!). He has always been ready to help make changes, or tweak things when needed. He even went above and beyond to get approvals from the township. Cory is truly the best project manager we have worked with! Always has a smile on his face, and is always available for questions. He made it very easy and stress-free for us through these last few weeks. Our pool was done 3 weeks ahead of schedule. His supervision, presence in the backyard during the building process and readiness to fix glitches instantly is greatly appreciated. Even our golden doodle absolutely loves Cory! They communicate very well with you. We recommend them to all our neighbors and friends!
