After calling and meeting with several contractors and companies in the area we settled with Attar at Pacific West Homes & Renovations. Attar immediate stood out as both responsive and knowledgeable regarding our various needs. We recently completed a repair in our home and I am happy to say that our experience was very positive. From the initial quote, scheduling the work, and follow up Attar has been attentive through the whole process. The work was completed to budget and on time. Additionally, we had some questions a few days after our work was completed and Attar responded immediately. This is especially telling about their company ethics. Many services will have delayed response times or require chasing after payment has been made against a project. I definitely recommend Attar and Pacific West Homes & Renovations for your home improvements needs.

We contracted with Attar and had high hopes. He wrote a time and materials contract, but we told…read morehim we had a pretty tight budget for our tub remodel and he said he thought we could do the work within the dollar amount we gave him. He was very slow and ran us way over budget (he essentially billed us 89.00 per hour to put in tile, and he seriously billed us for 48 hours of tile work to put in 45 pieces of 12x24 tile). When we would ask for estimates to finish, he gave an estimate, and then took twice as long as his estimate. When we confronted him, he literally said, it's time and materials, it is what it is. We finally had him stop work when he was close to 50% over our original estimate (and he STILL wasn't finished). The final quality of work was so bad, we had to hire a new contractor and have all the tile torn out and start over. Be careful!

I let him know we'd start with the balcony. NEVER AGAIN for a cleaning or anything else based on his unwillingness to make the situation right. He charged $240, had poor technique and time utilization, and was not attentive to detail. He did glue the caster, remove the rug, and empty the planters, but did not bring drop cloths or wear shoe covers so he made a mess of my floors when he came in and out, including wet foot prints and water splashes, so now shop towel laundry for me because he didn't have any. He insisted on removing the couch cover to shake it out, despite my request to leave it in place and vacuum it first. Because it now has dust and pollen on both sides, I will be taking it to a carwash to spray it down. He refused to use his shop vac to vacuum the rest of the space too and didn't bring his own broom or soap/cleaner. When he asked for soap, I gave him dish soap. I thought it was to wash his bucket before he started. Nope! It was for the deck cleaning. When I asked him to use Oxiclean instead, which is what I've used for the dozen of balcony cleanings I've done, he said, "we'll try this first." He was out there working hard, but wasn't cleaning. Rather, he moved the dirt around with soap and water. I pointed out how dirty the balcony looked when he finished, and he told me "You'll just need to sweep it later." I was working from home and regret not looking at the space from more than just the doorframe, but after my meetings, I went out there and immediately took photos and contacted him, as I found myself wondering what I paid him for. He said he'd come back to continue the job, but would charge $80/hr. Why would pay him to do more poor quality work? I properly cleaned it myself, vacuuming up a bunch of debris, and dumping buckets and buckets of black water. I sent photos to him showing his after vs my after and asked for a partial refund, as this wasn't sitting right with me. Nope, he feels justified in what he charged. Lesson learned, don't pay until the job is done and done right! It was still so filthy out there after he left!! Photos speak for themselves. My family thought the pictures after his work were the before photos. He did show up on time and seems like a nice person, but I won't be using him again for any services and do NOT recommend him for cleaning, anything cleaning related, or any project that could make a mess unless you want to feel grossly overcharged and disappointed and have to clean up after him.

We were in the process of selling our house and the buyer requested some repairs. What I…read morediscovered is that trying to find a contractor is not very fun. Most of them are pretty nonchalant about your time, rarely provide written quotes in a timely manner if at all and make you feel like you should be honored they made the time for you. Jon Lebel was pretty much the exact opposite. He communicated effectively, arrived when he said he would and had the job completed on time and on budget. We had him replace siding, repair some drywall and install some GFCI outlets for us. The work was exactly what we needed and he and his crew got it done is crappy weather just in time for the holidays. If you are looking for a contractor with integrity and clearly shows he cares, this is your contractor.

I contacted Jon after unsuccessfully trying to get a fencing project done with two other…read morecontractors. We moved to the area in February and wanted to get our yard set up with a dog door from the garage and a fence along the side for a dog run. After getting the runaround and dealing with sky high bids from two other non-responsive contractors, I decided to do the dog door myself and put up some welded-wire fencing as a stop gap until I built up the patience to give the fence another run. After failing with two word of mouth referrals, I decided to give yelp a go and glad I did. Although Jon only had one review at the time, it detailed the kind of experience you should expect from someone you are paying to do a job: punctuality, responsive communication, integrity, etc. Worth a shot I decided, and gave him a call. Since it was almost 5pm on Saturday, I wasn't expecting to set something up for the next week, but an hour later he is at my house assessing the project area (and dealing with my overly excited and aggressively playful boxer). He does the necessary measurements and tells me he'll have the quote to me that night. In my prior experience with contractors, usually a few hours meant a few days, but sure enough I had a detailed quote that night. A few emails later, and we are set for a Tuesday start date. He again arrived promptly and got right to work and was 99% done that day (had to let the posts set overnight before installing the gate Wednesday afternoon). Its refreshing to deal with a contractor that respects your time and is as professional as Jon. I highly recommend.

I contacted 8 companies and had 4 come out to look around and give us a quote. We heard things ranging from "we can do it, but nowhere near your budget" to "we can do it within budget but you'll have to source everything yourselves". Seeing as this remodel was the unplanned result of a water incident that ruined our floor, AND it is the only bathroom in our house, neither of those options appealed.
