Refresh Renovations did a GREAT job bringing our guest bedroom back from the dead. We had a pipe…read moreburst in mid-January, which flooded the downstairs guest bedroom AND the landing connecting the stairs leading up to the main floor. We didn't rush the repairs, because EVERYTHING had to dry out, thoroughly. By summer, we were able to start the recovery, researching and interviewing several companies including Refresh Renovations whose bid was on the lower end. It took about a month, from the initial wreckage removal to the last trim on the walls along the newly-restored and carpeted flooring. The insulation, drywalling, painting, and detailing were meticulously done. The different crews of workers were prompt, courteous, and thorough, and never left a mess behind. I kept thinking about that TV commercial for an interior refurbishing company, showing a badly flooded home that wound up looking "like it never even happened" when the recovery was complete. Refresh Renovations also has a follow-up program to check back in, over the next year, to see how their work has held up. Firstly, scheduling: time was tight as we also had a furnace replacement that had to go on. So driveway time and interior access had to be coordinated. Secondly, knowledge of the arts & crafts construction. They replaced what was needed with period-accurate pieces which, though custom sourced, were sensibly priced. Thirdly, they scaled the project appropriately - doing minimal invasiveness on the exterior, taking advantage of existing structures on the interior work. Finally, the subs (fencing, windows, drywall, gutters) they used for the items they don't do themselves proved to be professional, timely, and competitively priced. In the end the total came in substantially under the estimate and we were very happy with the results.

Nour devoted a lot of time before we got started in order to work out of the details because there were many moving parts. This project has 466 sf of decking with a 24' x 12' covered main living area. From the first day of demo I knew we had the right guy. Nour and his crew were on time and dug right in by removing our old deck and busted up the old patio. Whenever we ran into any issues Nour would come up with solutions, and this made the whole process easier. Once the substantial concrete footings and patio were poured the structure was completed in just days. This is when I knew for a fact, I had hired the right person! I have been around construction my entire life and I know the money is in the details. However, if the structure is not built soundly then you just forget about the details, so with that said I can tell you that this foundation and structure are build right! Of course, the details on this project are simply outstanding. The dark stained rough cut 2" x 8" red cedar decking & railing, the pine T&G cover, the Shou Sugi Ban ridge/rafters/kings/struts are set against the off-white siding/beans/posts really works well together. I have to say that Nour's work ethic and his desire to make your project special to you shows in the final product. The best thing that I can say about Nour is I have already discussed several other projects that I want to hire him for in the coming years. I look forward to our next collaboration.
