Tub deck extends perfectly to the vanity so that no gap is left for stuff to fall into
Tara B.

Let me start by saying- my husband also left a review of this business, however we are our own individuals who value totally different things. I feel like his review lacked many of the things that were so important to me, so I feel justified in writing my own review. This may be long winded, but if you are serious about how you spend your hard earned cash, then this is worth reading. My husband and I found our first home and fell in love with everything but the terrible purple 70's bathroom. We decided to inquire about remodeling because we figure we spend so much of our life in the bathroom (if you think about it- showers, baths, makeup, hair, and the unspeakable), we might as well actually like it. We heard about Steiner Remodel years ago from a good friend and had seen pictures of their work. Since our friend had used them and had good things to say, we decided to give them a shot. I wanted every detail to be exactly what I wanted so that I didn't get stuck saying "I wish I would have done it differently" for the rest of ever, however I did keep in mind that we are all just humans and there's no magical robot unicorn that can challenge physics... meaning we had to do the best with what we had, and sometimes what you WANT just isn't physically possible in the given space. Keep in mind, if that is your situation- blame physics... not your contractors. What I initially wanted was a Japanese soaking tub right next to a walk in shower, both enclosed in a wet room. I also wanted double sinks so that my husband can do whatever he wants in his own sink and doesn't have to listen to me, "Why is there tooth paste in the sink?!! gross...blah blah blah." It was just physically not possible unless we didn't mind standing on top of each other at a 4' double sink. So they gave me the honest truth about how cramped it would be if we actually did do that. They sat and thought about it, and I mean they realllllly tried to think of every possible way to make it happen. The bathroom was just too small. It didn't take long for Susan to come up with the idea of a lifetime, which I was actually completely against at first. She suggested moving the master bedroom door to the other side of the room, and knocking out the bathroom wall to extend an additional 3 feet into the hallway, which really was just a waste of space anyway. They assured me that the 3 extra feet would make a world of difference and finally, I agreed to that as well as vaulting the ceilings. As Tim and Mike both got busy with demolition, Susan was with me day after day trying to figure out tile, fixtures, cabinets, etc. I never knew how much work it was and why interior designers got paid so much, but I GET IT NOW. Susan took me to every tile shop in Portland multiple times. We spent hours upon hours trying to find a tile that would look elegant yet not show every spec of dirt or all my long dark hairs. She was SO patient and helpful. After I finally decided on a Tile we needed to find the quartz slab for the counter and tub deck. After spending multiple days trying to find quartz that matched the tile I'd picked, I found THE quartz of all quartz. I fell in love the moment I saw it and go figure, it was the most expensive quartz currently on the market AND it did NOT match my tile, but I HAD to have that quartz. So again we revisited all of the tile shops multiple times for hours on end to match the new quartz. Tim and Susan were also really great about gently bringing us back down to earth when our fantasies were getting out of hand and over budget. So now with the most expensive quartz, not only did we need to find a new tile, but a cheaper tile than we initially thought. After the Quartz and tile were decided, Susan and I spent more hours- which cabinet brand? What door style? What color? What layout? How Tall? What kind of hardware? Finally it was all put together-Looked great to me, but apparently there was a gap in the shower glass that was a few mm more than it should have been and the door didn't open optimally. They could have not mentioned it, but they clearly have integrity and take great pride in their work. After some confrontation with the vendor, they successfully got the glass redone. This is truly my dream bathroom. The only complaint I can think of is that now fancy hotels are less exciting- I always loved the fancy bathrooms, but now, nothing compares to mine. I mean... check out these PERFECT, THIN grout lines. The tub Deck is cut so that its not sharp on my neck. Space was accounted for for me to lean my head back in the tub. The tub deck extends all the way to the side of the sink so there is not gap for dust and stuff to fall into. Every single detail was thoughtfully planned out. I am honestly so impressed by their work, that I would be willing to invite you as potential client into our home to check out our bathroom so you can see for yourself. Ask Tim if you can make an appointment to see "the purple bathroom remodel"

We hired Steiner Remodel for a big home improvement project. We put an 8 x 20 addition on the back of our house and had a brand new kitchen built. From the very start of the project to the very end, Tim and his crew were awesome to work with. For the size and expense of this project, we were nervous about trusting a contractor with our house. We knew going in how invasive it was going to be. Tim was responsive, professional and accommodating to any changes that we threw at him. He even treated us to a bento lunch during the long day of shopping for materials. Bonus! The crew kept to the agreed schedule and showed up at 7:30 am each day and left at 4:30. Mike, the foreman always left the jobsite clean and orderly. We are beyond happy with the results and will definately hire them again for big or small projects. We came in within budget and on time. Great work!

Steiner Remodel (SR) just finished up 3+ months of work on our new home. We couldn't be happier. SR did a high end, 60K+, bathroom remodel as well as a number of smaller projects that we wanted completed at the new house. One thing that I really valued was that they showed up every week day, with the exception of 4th of July, at 7:30 AM and were at the house until 4:30 or 5:00 PM. This was super appreciated because the remodel put us out of our only full bathroom, so the faster the work was done, the better. Apart from the unbelievable bathroom remodel, SR replaced our carpet stairs with engineered hardwood, put in a sliding door, installed a ceiling fan and put in baseboard... along with some other odds and ends. All the work was of the highest quality.

Large gaps and nail holes in all the baseboards

Not only is their work great, but Anton was so so helpful. Communicative, punctual, and was happy to answer all my crazy questions/concerns. The cost of their work is also the most affordable I found after of a month of research. Already reached out to him about another project and will 100% be using them for my last bathroom redo in the future.

I've already hired him to do some more work following the main renovation and I'll be hiring him for more future work. Now for some details: We bought an apartment in Portland but we were still living in NYC, so the entire renovation was done remotely. Anton was very easy to communicate with. He handled receiving all the materials and fixtures, and even let me send some items to his home (like a bathtub!) so it doesn't disturb my new neighbors. He also brought in my regular mail. I actually got compliments from my neighbors for how Anton's workers helped them with some random stuff. Anton promised and delivered on finishing the renovation before we moved in. While it was a pretty tight schedule, I kept making it harder on Anton by increasing the scope as the renovation progressed (because I was so happy with the work). Even though I kept adding more work, Anton was still able to finish everything by the time we moved in. He and his team are very dedicated hard workers. There are no surprises when you get the bill either, prices are given upfront and that's what you see at the end. As for the work itself - very high quality throughout the vast range of different tasks (flooring, replacing exterior windows, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, replacing kitchen counter etc.). Anton was able to squeeze every inch of space, upgrading our kitchen substantially - shifting some existing cabinets to make more room for a bigger fridge, increasing the size of the sink to the absolute maximum given the existing cabinets (which we didn't want to replace) and even installing an imported faucet that doesn't match the US voltage (for boiling water) or plumbing fittings. I'm so happy with the work he did for us and I hope you hire him too.
