They say third time is a charm. For me, the third time was a curse. I was originally planning to see Paddington in Peru at the Regal Edwards in Long Beach Towne Center, but had to change my plans last minute, leading me to the Regal Edwards in South Gate instead. I had already seen the Heart Eyes movie a week ago, and there was a Regal Crown Club promotion for this month where if you watch multiple love-themed movies, you can get extra credits. There was also another promotion where if you saw the Paddington in Peru movie during the opening weekend, you can get 500 extra credits. Bonus credits for watching one movie? Why not?! Well, there are a few reasons why I would NOT recommend coming to this Regal at El Paseo South Gate Shopping Center, which is located on the northeast corner of Garfield and Firestone. I entered the plaza through Firestone, and there were so many cars stopped in front of Sam's Club. However, a sign directed me to go around the warehouse to find the movie theater. There's a parking lot on either side, so if you're not planning to go to Curacao (the store next door, not the island lol), feel free to park closer to the parking garage. When I came in, I didn't see a sign that would direct customers to purchase tickets at concessions. Instead, there was a hostess at the front who simply directed me to the concessions stand. I wasn't in a good mood, but Diego at the concessions stand was great! Best Regal employee I've seen so far as he was pretty upbeat and welcoming. I handed him my Regal Premiere Ticket while letting him know I was here for the Paddington in Peru movie. The seating chart had some occupied seats in the middle, so I chose a seat at the very rear of the auditorium, thinking I'd get a better view while staying far from the kiddos who might misbehave; luckily, they did not. The seats in this theater were less comfortable than at La Habra and Cerritos. They also did not recline, and I also noticed the headrests were movable. I arrived about a couple minutes before showtime, and the previews had already started. They went on for another ~25 minutes before the movie finally started. Like I said, the seats weren't too comfortable, and since there were only a couple of families in front of me, I just sat at four adjacent seats, changing seats every 20-30 minutes. One thing I noticed was that the cupholder for one seat had some trash from a previous movie showing. Luckily, it was just paper, but ugh! Clean the theater better, please?! Sound quality was pretty good, but the video actually froze for about 5-10 seconds twice in a span of 1-2 minutes. I almost thought that the movie would had to prematurely end because they couldn't get the movie to continue playing, but luckily, the movie finished without a hitch after the second hiccup. After the movie, I took a walk around the theater to look at all the various movie decor of upcoming movies or movies they are now showing. At the other end of the theater, I started smelling weed! I looked to my left and saw a Regal employee on a smoke break by the doorway with the door partially open! With plenty of children inside the theater?! Good thing the Paddington in Peru movie was at the other end of the theater. I wouldn't want to be smelling that stuff while trying to enjoy a movie! There's a pretty big arcade section in the middle between the hostess and concessions stands. The kiddos can run around with reckless abandon, and one of them *almost* hit me with a toy airplane. He wasn't even paying attention to his surroundings, so he definitely got a good talking to by his mother. Case in point, keep a watchful eye on the kids in the arcade section. This was my third visit to a Regal, and it's the worst one so far. I even went out of my way to see how this theater was, and needless to say, I'm definitely not doing that again. 2 stars overall. I'm glad I stopped by this theater, but I won't be returning even though I still have a handful of Premiere Movie Tickets left to use.

I know these three little Church girls. Since they were babies. They've literally grown up right in front of Me. Who says adults don't hang out with kids. I do all the time. One of them has finally graduated from high school ! So, as a special gift she requested to go to the movies with her best friend and I ! Needless to say, I felt very special. Such a special girls day. We got to the movies and I think I just forget how movie theaters are so grand. They're always really big huge buildings. They really are special. Our seats were comfortable. There's a huge mural above the concession counter. I was standing there for a while. Trying to figure out who the famous people were. The guy in the light blue jacket was the only one I couldn't figure out. Maybe. You can try. It was a great experience all around. Super cute movie.

Everything needs to be improved at this location mainly them cleaning the theater rooms, I paid almost $40 to take my daughter to watch the Megan 2.0 +$30 on popcorn candy and a ICEE, but I know the employees didn't even bother cleaning it before we went in it looks to me as if they pushed the trash back, the Cerritos location is a 10/10 South Gate regal 0/10 , don't waste your time going here SG REGAL . Last time I went I waited 1 hour in line for the popcorn this never happens at the Cerritos location.

I was trying to take my parents to the movies and this location offers Spanish movies. I love that. Tuesday regal has a great deal. The snack bar has a big variety of choices. we did have to drive out but it was totally worth it my parents enjoyed the movie.

Does anyone know if they offer a student discount at this location?

Hi There, Thank you for taking the time to reach out! For more specific information on discounts, Please reach out to your Theatre directly at 323-929-0915.

Can kids go in?

Sure, why not?

How much are movies on Sunday's?

$6 in the morning. And $8 dollars when you purchase them in the movie theatre. Online prices are higher.

How much is a large coke & a large popcorn?

My best guess is around $6 for the coke and $7 for the popcorn. Hope that helps.

As someone who is a huge moviegoer and fan of AMCs, I'm surprised it took me this long to come to…read morethis AMC! But, I found myself in the area for work and this location popped up on my AMC app! This is definitely a more basic AMC that's pretty big and spacious with a large variety of films playing. The seats were fairly comfortable and relaxing and I liked how they were cushiony and reclining. The stadium seating style in the theater I was in made for a bit more privacy and separation from others, especially since there were noisy and disruptive theater goers nearby. I can't fault the theater for that, though, as they can't stop these people from attending. I do wish the sound quality was just a little bit more amplified though to drown out these sounds. I did find the picture quality to be really good and I felt really immersed in what I watched. The theater I was in was clean and well maintained. The staff I interacted with were also friendly. I didn't purchase food or drink but the food I saw others get looked fresh and the smell lingered. Parking was very easy in the lot across the street, especially since it was evening and the gate was up. I was a little confused at first if I could park there, since it was labeled for jury duty, but I saw others parking there and walking across the bridge to the AMC, which reassured me! I would return again the next time I'm in the area!

I've been to this AMC location many times and it's always been a spot to go to watch a movie…read morewhenever able to, due to close convenience. It's a decent spot compared to other AMC's and not as big as others but has a good amount of parking at the structure across from it or in the back lot that makes it good for trying to catch a movie on time and not having to worry about for parking. BUT things that this AMC can improve on, would be their service. For people that are AMC stubs premiere or A-List members, they have a separate line outside that would get line priority. I was with my cousin in line and waited in the special premiere/A-list line priority line and literally was trying to just print out our tickets for the movie that we were going to watch. I kid you not where the worker lady in the booth in front did not pay attention or give any notice to this line and took like 6 pairs/families of people from the general line and never acknowledged us which was truly a disappointment because why promote AMC stubs, premiere and A-list if you can't even accommodate to people paying extra for that extra service? So we ended up going inside and spoke with a manager about it and mentioned our concern about it and they said they would talk to that worker but tbh, it's not the first time I've seen this and I don't think their service is near similar to the other AMC's at other locations. It's really sad because I really like this AMC for convenience in location but the service is pretty bad not just with the front booth window but even with the one line for all for concessions which can be a hit or miss sometimes. It would be nice if they had two separate lines for general and stubs members inside the theater like how other AMC's do it.

I haven't been here in years. So I decided to go with gf in tow, on a Saturday night, for 8:10pm…read moreshowing I did remember to come early to get a good spot to park. 39 minutes early is the latest to come. Otherwise you will be waiting in a huge line and may be fighting for a good spot, so you can be far away from the we*d smokers or smokers of any kind, if you are a nonsmoker like we are . Prices are still cheap. Only $14 for general admission (12 and older). Way better than walk in theater general admission prices. Pretty sure ticket prices are cash. So make sure you have cash for tickets. We came to see Mortal Kombat II. Which was amazing. I never saw the first movie. But you don't have to have seen the first to follow this movie. One reason I wanted to see this movie is Mortal Kombat II is my favorite video game (SNES) version of the MK video games. The best place to see an action movie is on the massive drive-in theater movie screen. Not Imax, etc. So we went here. Another great thing about drive in theaters is you can bring your own food and you can have privacy with your date inside your vehicle, if you know what I mean . Just have privacy glass. Because a family of kids can be parked next to your vehicle. If you want, you can bring chairs and sit outside your vehicle and watch. Which is also a great choice. Especially if you have kids. They will love sitting outside. If you do sit outside, bring a coat, blanket, etc. It gets cold at night. The concession is cheap af and not like walk in movie theater prices. For example, their large popcorn is huge. Yet its only $10 with taxes. We got ours with extra butter. They offer a lot of other good stuff too at great prices. But we only wanted warm popcorn with extra butter. I saw some raggedy ATM machines in there. Not sure if concession got them there so you can use cash to buy food. But I didn't ask as I already had some cash on me to buy popcorn. So make sure you bring cash for concession as well. Make sure you vehicle radio can tune to 90.1 FM and you can leave it on without it draining your battery and without parking/headlights being activated. It drives us movie goers crazy when some foolish person will turn on their headlights while everyone else is trying to enjoy the film. Also, if you need a radio for showing, you can buy one from them for $20 at concession. Great experience here. I love this place. Like I said, I havent been here in like 6 years. Last time I was here, one ticket paid for double feature. Which was a steal. Because after Mortal Kombat II, I was looking forward to seeing Michael again. Which we already saw at a walk in theater. But we were ready to see it again on the biggest screen ever. They dont do double features anymore. So if the website shows two movies, dont misread like I did. It clearly says: "TICKETS ARE FOR A SINGLE SHOW TIME ONLY." I was wondering why everyone was leaving after Mortal Kombat II was over . We stayed in vehicle until security drove by and told us they only do single features. We weren't the only ones he had to tell. Great experience here. Cant wait to see another larger than life movie here.

There's something special about watching movies at a drive in that regular theaters just can't match. The area itself is nice and spacious, and one of my favorite things is opening up the back of a large suburban car, setting up blankets, and getting super cozy while watching the screen. It feels relaxed, fun, and perfect for spending time with friends or family. The cafeteria is another big plus. The food is surprisingly good and very affordable, which makes it easy to grab snacks or meals without overspending. It definitely satisfies cravings and adds to the overall experience. If you're looking for a fun, nostalgic, and comfortable way to watch movies, Paramount Drive In Theaters is a must visit. Highly recommend.

They know what they are, a value driven theatre that's run by real people with outdated but not dirty bathrooms. The most expensive tickets are $13 w/out service fee and value days are $5 for ALL movies without having to pay a membership fee (cough AMC). The concessions aren't ridiculously overpriced, theatres are clean but not spotless, they have some stadium seating theatres, they have FREE flavored popcorn seasoning, and they invest in Americas future by hiring high schoolers during a time when those types of jobs are being replaced by tech. Also, the "previews" aren't 20 minutes long like the other theaters. If you're looking for a place to impress your first date, don't take them here.
