Obnoxious staff laughing while greeting people. No one was at the front and we had no idea which way to go. We walked past the empty stand and approached the woman at the poster stand. Then security not the usher told us to move back all rude. Then the usher came and checked our tickets just to have security check my mom and my sister's bag. When asked why the first thing he said was "outside snacks". Then goes on to say "oh yea and pepper spray and stuff like that". They are just patrolling people bringing in snacks masked as a security guard. Extreme red flags. My sister had a small bag of chips and had to turn around and walk back to the car for such a small and silly thing. All while the 2 employees who appeared out of which seems nowhere were laughing and being extremely unprofessional. Mind you this is the first thing you see when you walk in. There is no sense of being welcomed. This is the type of stuff you see at a rinky-dink movie theater. This is a below average, amateur ran movie theater and we were extremely excited after hearing the theater got revamped. Unfortunately the theater still needs work. If you are in this area already just go another 10 mins to Cinemark in Downey or AMC Norwalk cus it was actually very shocking. Couldn't take picture because I forgot the the bathrooms of both men and women were also down. With a sign and a bunch of boxes. This was one of the most disappointing theater experiences I've had. I attended the 9:00 PM showing of Scary Movie 6 on June 4 to celebrate my birthday. My friend drove long distance to join me, only to be denied entry because theater staff CLAIMED that children were not permitted for that showing EVEN THOUGH MY NIECE WAS ACCOMPANIED BY HER PARENTS. What made the situation frustrating was that, once inside the theater, I noticed another guest had been allowed to enter with a child. If the theater has a policy regarding children attending R-rated movies, that policy should be enforced consistently for everyone. Turning some guests away while allowing others to enter under the same circumstances feels unfair and unprofessional. Because of this inconsistency, my friend had to leave and missed the movie entirely after making the effort to come celebrate with me. The experience put a damper on what was supposed to be a special evening. Unfortunately, I did not get the name of the supervisor or manager who assisted us. However, management should be able to identify the employee who was overseeing guest admissions for the 9:00 PM showing of Scary Movie 6 on June 4. I understand that theaters have rules and policies, and I respect that. My issue is not with the policy itself, but with the apparent lack of consistency in how it was applied. I mention these things in my reviews for the sake of protecting immunocompromised people like the elderly and people sick with cancer and other illnesses. COVID-19 Vaccination Proof: This establishment currently does not require proof of vaccination. While I was here in this establishment, I asked if they had any special offers and they weren't offering any at the moment. They also do not allow pets in their establishment UNLESS it's a service animal. Parking: The parking lot for this establishment is pretty massive since they share the lot with several other establishments. Each parking spot is pretty wide. Establishment: The establishment itself is very big, clean, tidy, and organized. I got to watch Titanic in 4DX, and that was wild. It was my first time ever watching a film in 3D 4DX. Customer service is adequate. Concession bar tends to be understaffed. Bathrooms are not as clean or tidy as they could be. Auditoriums are never completely dark due to area-specific lighting. Candy variety could be better (why are there no dark chocolate Raisinets?). Hot dogs are not always ready. Lobby floors and napkin / condiments areas are frequently messy. Popcorn spills are not cleaned up in lobby. Reclining chairs squeak when they move. Be aware of ongoing lobby construction and where you step. The absolute worst regals. My boyfriend and i ordered our snacks online 15 minutes before movie and had to wait 40 minutes . Also a heads-up don't try sneaking in snacks or drinks here. Most movie theaters aren't this strict, but this theater's security checks bags very thoroughly. They'll stop you for pretty much anythingeven a bottle of water. They say third time is a charm. For me, the third time was a curse. I was originally planning to see Paddington in Peru at the Regal Edwards in Long Beach Towne Center, but had to change my plans last minute, leading me to the Regal Edwards in South Gate instead. I had already seen the Heart Eyes movie a week ago, and there was a Regal Crown Club promotion for this month where if you watch multiple love-themed movies, you can get extra credits. There was also another promotion where if you saw the Paddington in Peru movie during the opening weekend, you can get 500 extra credits. Bonus credits for watching one movie? Why not?! Well, there are a few reasons why I would NOT recommend coming to this Regal at El Paseo South Gate Shopping Center, which is located on the northeast corner of Garfield and Firestone. I entered the plaza through Firestone, and there were so many cars stopped in front of Sam's Club. However, a sign directed me to go around the warehouse to find the movie theater. There's a parking lot on either side, so if you're not planning to go to Curacao (the store next door, not the island lol), feel free to park closer to the parking garage. When I came in, I didn't see a sign that would direct customers to purchase tickets at concessions. Instead, there was a hostess at the front who simply directed me to the concessions stand. I wasn't in a good mood, but Diego at the concessions stand was great! Best Regal employee I've seen so far as he was pretty upbeat and welcoming. I handed him my Regal Premiere Ticket while letting him know I was here for the Paddington in Peru movie. The seating chart had some occupied seats in the middle, so I chose a seat at the very rear of the auditorium, thinking I'd get a better view while staying far from the kiddos who might misbehave; luckily, they did not. The seats in this theater were less comfortable than at La Habra and Cerritos. They also did not recline, and I also noticed the headrests were movable. I arrived about a couple minutes before showtime, and the previews had already started. They went on for another ~25 minutes before the movie finally started. Like I said, the seats weren't too comfortable, and since there were only a couple of families in front of me, I just sat at four adjacent seats, changing seats every 20-30 minutes. One thing I noticed was that the cupholder for one seat had some trash from a previous movie showing. Luckily, it was just paper, but ugh! Clean the theater better, please?! Sound quality was pretty good, but the video actually froze for about 5-10 seconds twice in a span of 1-2 minutes. I almost thought that the movie would had to prematurely end because they couldn't get the movie to continue playing, but luckily, the movie finished without a hitch after the second hiccup. After the movie, I took a walk around the theater to look at all the various movie decor of upcoming movies or movies they are now showing. At the other end of the theater, I started smelling weed! I looked to my left and saw a Regal employee on a smoke break by the doorway with the door partially open! With plenty of children inside the theater?! Good thing the Paddington in Peru movie was at the other end of the theater. I wouldn't want to be smelling that stuff while trying to enjoy a movie! There's a pretty big arcade section in the middle between the hostess and concessions stands. The kiddos can run around with reckless abandon, and one of them *almost* hit me with a toy airplane. He wasn't even paying attention to his surroundings, so he definitely got a good talking to by his mother. Case in point, keep a watchful eye on the kids in the arcade section. This was my third visit to a Regal, and it's the worst one so far. I even went out of my way to see how this theater was, and needless to say, I'm definitely not doing that again. 2 stars overall. I'm glad I stopped by this theater, but I won't be returning even though I still have a handful of Premiere Movie Tickets left to use. read more

Just FYI....they check bags upon entering. I've never had a regal do this before. Also the bathrooms are really dirty. A lot of stalls missing toilet paper. Toilet paper/trash strewn EVERYWHERE in the bathrooms. Out of paper towels. Also self serve counters have their jalapeños just raw dogging out in the open no lid. Really gross. Movie screens need to be up higher. When you have the seat reclined all the way back the ledge blocks the bottom part of the screen. Definitely won't be coming back to this location. read more

finally getting the Remodel it deserves. The place is starting to look great! The new recliners feel great and go all the way back. The little table they added to each seat have enough space so you don't feel trapped. The new carpet looks awesome. They are still remodeling the lobby and should be done by December of this year 2026. I was happy to see lots of families there. The customer service was beyond. I know these three little Church girls. Since they were babies. They've literally grown up right in front of Me. Who says adults don't hang out with kids. I do all the time. One of them has finally graduated from high school ! So, as a special gift she requested to go to the movies with her best friend and I ! Needless to say, I felt very special. Such a special girls day. We got to the movies and I think I just forget how movie theaters are so grand. They're always really big huge buildings. They really are special. Our seats were comfortable. There's a huge mural above the concession counter. I was standing there for a while. Trying to figure out who the famous people were. Everything needs to be improved at this location mainly them cleaning the theater rooms, I paid almost $40 to take my daughter to watch the Megan 2.0 +$30 on popcorn candy and a ICEE, but I know the employees didn't even bother cleaning it before we went in it looks to me as if they pushed the trash back, the Cerritos location is a 10/10 South Gate regal 0/10 , don't waste your time going here SG REGAL . I would like to give this ZERO STARS. Definitely needs new Management! Last week, I visited the Regal cinema in South Gate with my family to watch Zootopia in 4D. We spent $150 on snacks and merchandise. During the movie, a staff member approached us, saying my niece couldn't stay due to her height, even though she rides Disneyland attractions. Despite explaining and asking for a refund, the manager, Nicole, refused, offering only a partial refund contingent on us returning to the theater. Her handling of the situation was poor and escalated tensions. Ultimately, we left dissatisfied, feeling our experience was unfairly ruined. I plan to contact corporate for a resolution. read more

Horrible service people act like they cannot see you to not help you. They manhandle your bags trying to look for snacks. They will have you walking around looking for their "manager" instead of them phoning in or looking for you. They sent us to the completely wrong screening then said they could not refund us for their mistake. We watched the whole second half of the movie got it spoiled, and we could not even get our money back. This is beyond terrible. The worst theater I have ever been to hands down. read more

first and foremost, I've been coming to the matinee showing and this Sunday when I went with my son to see Captain America. There was not enough lighting for me to go to the top level and I fell down. I am so sore so sore from the the fall, you need to take more extra precaution when coming to this happened to I completely should've talked to the manager. I'm 65 years old. I'm pretty good shape and my whole body is sore. Trying to get a hold of you on the phone and I was impossible. Normally I would give 2-star for this type of theater because everything feels very outdated from the concession stand to restroom, but I drove all the way here because of the following three reasons: (1) Price for matinee showing is one of the cheapest tickets I could find in the SGV (San Gabriel Valley) area. (2) I can preview the seating chart easily using the Fandango app. (3) This is the one of the emptiest theaters I could find for shows before 12 PM. It is a great theater for viewers who want to avoid crowd and get to watch the blockbuster movies on the opening weekend. I came here for both Spider-Man: No Way Home and Dr. Strange 2 before 12 PM on Saturday (opening weekend) and there were more 75% empty seats. In addition no one really checked my digital ticket for Dr. Strange 2. Bumping up to 3-star for being one of the more empty and cheap theaters in the SGV area. P.S. - Please note that each auditorium doesn't have a digital display so you can't tell which movie is currently showing. You will need to know auditorium number listed on your digital ticket ahead of time. read more
