We love to go to the movies! This Regal Cinema is located in the Avalon (in the very back of the shopping plaza). What I like about this theater: Nice comfortable reclining seats! Seat tray to hold your drink/popcorn. Clean bathroom that are close to the theaters. Sound and picture quality were great! What I don't like about this theater: There never seems to be enough employees (long lines at concessions). When you need customer service/Manager, nobody is ever at that station (photo attached as proof). I had questions about my gift card, nobody was around to answer. You can't add a Regal Gift card to your Regal Ap account (I tried couldn't get it to work??). Ticket and concession prices are too high. When choosing seats online the Ap told me I was picking a "couch". I still don't understand what that is?? I didn't see any couches? Soft pretzels were greasy! My son loves to get these at the movies. He took 1 bite and said it was gross! Parking (Urgh!), trying to find parking is tough at the Avalon in general. This is why I usually avoid the entire area. It's much easier to get in and out of an AMC Theater vs. this Regal. This is not my first choice of movie theaters. However, if friends want to go here or I have a gift card, I'll go. read more

This was my first time back to a theater since Covid. The theater was nice, my bf liked the mobile check-in as well. However, my boyfriend and I picked a late movie so we could enjoy Spider-man in peace. I'm old so when I ordered my ticket I said one senior. seller said she needed my Regal membership to unlock that rate. I don't have a membership so just one ticket. she refused to sell me a ticket. refused! Cushy reclining seats make for fewer people per theater. The good thing is that you're reserving your tickets and seats in advance. The bad side of that is (if you're like me) if you want to go on a whim, you may be stuck with whatever is left available. It's not like the now old-school theaters where you can just show up 15 minutes early and get a prime seat. The other advantage to pre-seating, however, is you don't have to show up 15 minutes early. That seat is yours even if you get there right at the beginning of the movie because you were too busy eating dinner down the street to get there on time. The experience is good, the parking can be mediocre, there's valet nearby that makes your life easier. It's really just about how much you want to dole out to go out for a movie. read more

Can someone say, reclining seats? The age old problem of having to put feet up on the back of the seat in front of you is solved. This very new movie theater had all the major movies playing, although that is no surprise from a Regal. We came to watch Mission Impossible - Rogue Nation (which was fantastic, by the way). Seating is assigned, so we selected our seats when purchasing the tickets at the ticket counter. As it was only 10 minutes until the show on a Friday night, there were limited seats, but somehow we ended up with 5 seats together in a middle row, albeit toward the end of the row. I had a little difficulty figuring out how to push the seat back (it is easier when you have a little light, which I didn't have the luxury of, being Asian time LATE and all), so I left the movie with a little crick in my neck. Overall though, I had a great experience. My friend noted he would definitely make the drive for reclining seats. Although, $13.50 for a movie ticket really hurts my heart and reminds me of what could have been. Thanks, Obama. read more

Used to love this theater... stopped coming when they stopped serving coke, but because we live Avalon, we ended up here tonight. NEVER AGAIN! Not only did I have to bring my own drink (Pepsi is awful) but there was a wretched smell as soon as we walked in lobby - how's that even possible with popcorn everywhere??? Then we got to our theater - the seats and cup holders are disgusting - not only extremely worn, but not cleaned in ages. Crusty stuff on seat arm, moldy looking cup holders.... I try not to leave impulsive reviews; but I've been here three times. Having waited tables for years, I know you can have bad days and nights. But it's always really, really slow. I paid $18 to go to a movie, then got $15 in concessions, and it's the last money Regal will see of mine. The truth is that this place is pretty much like all other movie theaters, just without the customer service. And that is a really big difference when you're rushing to get to your movie and it takes 10 minutes to serve each person in line. If you want the wait to be worth it, go to The Spotted Pig in Manhattan. That's well worth the wait. But if you want a wait that just infuriates the hell out of you, go to Regal Avalon. Funny thing is, the bartenders aren't unfriendly. They're working for tips. And they're fine. But you may have to see it for yourself. Just make sure to plan ahead! Plan to have someone in his/her seat to catch you up on what happened for the 20 minutes of the movie you missed because the bartender is by himself, trying to wait on 10 people, and having to fetch popcorn for the people trying to skip the popcorn line. The place is a shambles. It's a systems design nightmare - the kind they teach in business school. They should either add a bartender or figure out how to enable the bartenders to serve people without fetching popcorn (or go to the back of the house), or learn from their competitors how not to take 20 minutes for customers to get to their seats, because it's an awful customer experience for people who just want to see a show. I popped out at a slow moment thinking I'd get another drink. The woman in front of me was so upset from having to wait so long, I offered my condolences and went back to my seat. No more money from me that night or in the future Regal Avalon. Tonight was my last time there. read more

I asked him to refill my popcorn because concession was crazy, he was sitting at the end of the bar on his phone with no customers, and he huffed and rolled his eyes. Aside from the AMC in Phipps plaza, I don't remember reclining chairs at a movie theatre but this place has it. Sitting in these chairs made it enjoyable to watch a movie. Also, like SMGs, you get to reserve your seats so you do not have to rush in early to find the best seats available. Very convienent overall. read more

The regal website's online booking is terrible. I tried to book a ticket to watch a movie with friends and the website displayed the seat I wanted as unavailable. So I booked the next best seat, only to find out immediately afterward that the original seat was actually free. The online booking has no way to change the seats, so I had to request a refund and place another order, but they did not refund the booking fee charged for the online order. The theater itself is hard to reach by phone, as I tried calling and but only received a message saying that the recipient's mailbox was full and to try calling later. It doesn't look like I'll be getting my booking fee refunded. read more

I expected more from a theater at The Avalon. Bar service took much too long for the small amount of people there. You have to wear wrist bands if you purchase alcohol. What is this, a club? Studio Movie Grill and AMC don't require wrist bands for alcohol. Although they sell food, they do not deliver it to your seats here. Again, a surprise for a venue at the prestigious Avalon. You have to stand and wait at a small area until they call your order. Not even your name or number. They call what you ordered, which could be the same as someone else ordered, so good luck. The menu is not easily seen as it is blocked by people standing in line waiting on their food. Overall there are other dine-in theaters close to this Regal that are far superior with the same, if not better, amenities. read more

What has happened to this theaters seating? We took out of town guests to Avalon for movie and dinner. I was absolutely embarrassed when we walked into the actual theater and saw the condition of the theater chairs. Leather all worn off, sagging seats, some seats actually torn with foam popping out of the seats and the cup holders were absolutely filthy. I paid over eighty dollars just for tickets and this is what we had to sit in! No wonder theaters are having trouble getting paying customers!! Go somewhere else!! read more

While this is a premium Regal location, Regal fails to deliver the same quality theater experience that AMC does. If you are adding a movie to your Avalon experience (which is terrific), then this is convenient. Otherwise, head down 400 another exit and go to Northpoint AMC or AMC at the Collection. Each house offers reserved seating, reclining seats, and a school desk style try table. There is a lot of isle room for folks to get to their seats, even with everyone in full recline. Food options here are subpar to competitors. Popcorn doesn't match AMC. Staff quality lacks as well (I was accidentally overcharged on my last visit and didn't see it until I was home). read more

At first I'm thinking, how can all these people be on a 3 star with a brand new Regal Cinema? Once again yelp got it right, and once again, all of the reasons are pretty well listed in the reviews already. So I'll keep it short. The place is dirty, bathrooms smell awful, the theatre itself didn't appear to be cleaned well between showings. It's run by teens, and the service is almost on par with that, except we stopped at the bar and they informed us not only could we get better food there but they would bring it to our theatre. That was nice, along with the lounging seats, but doesn't save it from all its negatives - including the weird blue light along the side of the screen that is just annoying. Also, the food was not really that good. It's pretty much the same type of things you could buy and microwave at home. Why don't they take a tip from all the new 'Movie Grill' type places and make rational food menu choices along with rational pricing? Yeah I gave it three stars, but I probably wont go back, the new cinema at North Point is a much better option, IMO. And the lounging seats are even better. If I'm going to drop a small fortune on a 2 hour experience, it better have me on a 4 or 5 star. read more

Just watched the Imitation Game here and had a nice time. Here's the breakdown. Screen: Standard theater screen. Not sure what their tech is but it didn't blow me away and it didn't bother me, so it's ok. I would say though, if you wanna watch the new Hobbit (or other movie like that) in 3D this might not be for you. Theater: Very intimate with comfortable recliners placed 2 by 2 and generously spaced. It's a great date night experience because of this but I am not sure it's a great place to bring the kids or a large group of friends. Food: Horrible, avoid. Imagine if McDonalds tried to make TGI Fridays menu and you're coming close. There are better options at Avalon, go there. Drinks: Nice selection for booze, didn't have their mixed drinks but they looked decent. I was surprised at the high end champagne on the menu. Booking process: Super easy. I bought tickets on Fandango and just walked right into the theater with no hassle or problem. Selecting your seat online means you don't have to get there early to get the seats you want, that's awesome for me as I hate waiting in line for movies. Service: People were super friendly and it was easy to get what we wanted in a timely fashion, especially important when ordering drinks or anything before a movie. Price: For a high end theater the tickets were really reasonable. Good value for money. Overall I gotta say this is a great experience if you want to see a movie in comfort and with the least amount of hassle. I don't like it when they serve food in the theater and there's all the coming and going. AMC's version of this is horrible and you can't really enjoy your movie. Here, the food is horrible (FYI so is AMC's) but at least the servers don't bug you and you don't feel weird not eating in the theater. It seems their focus really was on creating a comfortable theater to enjoy your movies and they have succeeded at doing so. read more

Regal gets super fancy with this place, nestled in the center of one of Alpharetta's affluent shopping hubs, an "Atlantic Station" type setting for North Fulton, if you will. Apartments, supermarket (Whole Foods, of course) and middle to high-end shopping. We reserved our seats online, huge seats, by the way. Lots of room between you and your neighbor. Every seat is a great seat. And no musty smell like some theaters - very clean. I'd pay $12 for a show and this experience over half-price lower quality any day. read more

I've only been here once but was amazed by how comfy the seats were. They recline. Believe it or not I have rarely been to a movie theatre with reclining seats. It was wonderful to be able to kick back (literally) and watch the film. The movie we saw was not very commercial which was nice. I liked their movie selections and that they had a good variety of movies to see. I got a nice large tub of popcorn without butter and it tasted fresh and good.
