Great place for coffee. A few healthy selections of food, very limited menu. Atmosphere is very relaxing.

Glad I finally stopped and tried Refuel Cafe after driving past it every day. Without a doubt, both the coffee and the food are great. For me, the food might even better than the coffee - which is saying alot! I've had the brown sugar latte and the mocha, both were good. I did prefer the mocha a bit more - it's something special. You'd be doing yourself a disservice if you didn't grab breakfast while you were there. It's a bit spendy at around $10 or so, but it's one of the best croissant sandwiches I've ever had. Their breakfast burrito is also a shining star with large chunks of fresh, local sausage. The avocado toast is definitely "artisan" but it's not very substantial for the price. There's a good size area for seating but it does fill up quickly as this is becoming a popular spot. Enjoy! read more

I think I found another Renton favorite! I went to Refuel to work a little bit. I wasn't there for long, but it was a nice experience! It's a good sized space for small groups! I had a blueberry pie latte and it was decadent and paired well with the cornetto I bought too. Service was good! There was only one server at the time so I had to wait a little longer than I'd hoped, but it was fine. The coffee was worth it! I'll go back for sure! read more

Dashed over here on Mother's Day during our run to the urgent care vet with our pup, who'd gotten injured late the previous night. We were super hungry while waiting the hours until it was his turn at urgent care, and Yelp to the rescue - we found Refuel Cafe. So happy to find a place that was close and had high quality food. Our to-go order was completed quickly but I kind of wish we could have eaten there - it's charming on the inside - instead of in the vet's parking lot. (It's close enough that we would have made it back on time.) We had a lovely breakfast burrito, the terrific crustless (and gluten free) quiche, a gluten free pastry, and a salad - plus a wonderful decaf honey jasmine coconut milk latte. They have tons of tempting healthy snack and beverage options too. And ... they gave me a rose because it was Mother's Day. We'd had Big Plans for the day that we had to completely scrub due to doggy mishap, and I have to say, the latte, the lunch (especially my quiche - I didn't get to taste the burrito as sweetie demolished it), and the rose made the rough day just a little bit better and sweeter. A great cafe in the Renton Highlands. The coffee was good and the breakfast sandwiches were amazing. Plenty of seating and had a family friendly chill vibe. They also serve some wine and have a Togo food section too. Back to the breakfast sandwich though, I can't recall what it was called but the croissant was flaky with egg and gooey cheese and bacon. The other was an English muffin with some red peppers and egg and melted cheese. Both were delicious. YUM! read more

refuel actually used to be one of my favorite cafes to visit for the drinks and beautiful environment/ambience. tho i think new owners took over and removed all of the plants and the whole place looks soulless now. i don't trust people who would intentionally remove (possibly throw away) beautiful plants that are clearly well taken care of. probably means the quality is going to start going down and i'm very sad about it. read more

Love this place! The coffee is amazing, and the staff is so kind--even when they have to break the bad news that their incredible stuffed croissants are sold out. Those croissants are absolutely to die for! What sets them apart is that they make their croissants from scratch, unlike many places that just reheat frozen ones. Don't know why I haven't tried this place before. Probably because it feels weirdly tucked away on some more 'industrial' feeling complex. But don't let that stop you like it has me. Great friendly people and not just a coffee shop! Good breakfast treats and also looks like some light lunch options (haven't tried it yet). Such a great addition to the Renton Highlands. I really want to give five stars but there's a few things that just need a little improvement. I know you guys are crazy busy on the weekends, but our table was dirty. Also, there were only one glass left for the water station. And lastly, it's just a wee bit pricey but dang it's delicious. It's kind of like eating at some delicious but overpriced (ahem Portage Bay) chain in Seattle but you're in Renton so you pay the fancy prices. That being said, they make a damn good drink, even if it arrives halfway through your meal. They also have many delicious things to eat and pastries from Macrina. Can't go wrong there. The employees rock. I just think they are a little understaffed, and could use one more person to help them out with the cleaning . Also, was a big fan of the art on the walls. Love seeing local art rotate through the café. Give them a try! Especially if you are not as picky as me. read more

Love this cute little spot! The staff is always friendly, breakfast burritos hit the spot, and the coffee is superb! I love trying their fun seasonal drinks! Best avocado toast ever! The combination of flavors and textures with the feta cheese, peppers, tomatoes, pumpkin seeds and oil/vinegar is incredible! Came with a friend and had to come back the next week to get it again. Coffee is good too. Friendly staff, plenty of seating, and nice ambiance. Parking spaces are limited. It appeared as if some people were using it as a workspace, so maybe that's why. Definitely will be back! read more

Unfortunately there aren't many non dairy options as far as food goes. The sandwich board listed sandwiches that were all pre-made that had cheese on it. They also had croissants filled with various toppings, all including cheese. If you want sweet pastries or coffee (they do have non-dairy milk!), this seems like a great place but if you're dairy free then look elsewhere for food. read more

My favorite cafe in Renton. Maybe in the whole Seattle area.. The staff are amazing, fast and friendly. The food/snacks are local, organic, hand-picked (not the generic stock stuff). .. everything feels carefully curated. Gluten-free and vegan options!! I love to support businesses like this! Oh! The coffee! My new favorite drink is the Chagaccino. My friends all have their own faves (different from each other) but all say the same: love that roast is not super bitter/burnt tasting. I'd seen reviews for this place and wanting to support small local businesses figured I'd try it out. So I ordered a bacon, avocado, tomato and cheddar panini and a cinnamon roll. Looked really good in their photos online. When I got them they did not look as good. The sandwich was a thin little sandwich with maybe 1-2 bites that had any bacon at all on each half and very little avocado. It was nicely toasted and the cheese was good but they were very stingy with the ingredients. The cinnamon roll looked nothing like the photo. It looks like a hard, dry cinnamon roll with some cream cheese frosting blobbed on top. Maybe they were having an off day but I was disappointed and not sure if I'd try them again. read more

Made a pit stop at refuel cafe to fuel our bodies after our flight. The cafe was quaint, filled with natural light and green plants. We ordered 2 Big Breakfast Burrito and a coffee. The breakfast burrito was like nothing I've ever tasted before -herb roasted potatoes, eggs, pepper jack cheese, avocado, sausage, salsa and sour cream. The potatoes had a tangy taste. Refuel is the gem of the Renton highlands and has been my happy place every Saturday morning for months to finish my degree. The woman who appears to own/manage the cafe is fantastic. They have the tastiest breakfast and lunch menus--my favorites are the breakfast wraps and croissants. SO GOOD. Their coffee is one of the better ones in the area, too. The atmosphere is clean and elevated, definitely the nicest-looking place for coffee with a friend in the area. They have a little station up front with games and things for people to do while they stay, and have never gotten my order wrong. Really nice amenities as well. I came here to try some local breakfast as I am not from Renton Highlands but was curious in what's in the area. The food was delicious, the coffee was great quality, and even had art on it which blew me away! It's very nice and welcoming establishment, (which that already made me feel uneasy haha) and in a nice area. The ONLY "downside" is if you are like me and prefer sweeter coffee, their standard recipe won't hit that mark, so ask them to sweeten it a little more! read more

Excellent place for breakfast!! We were staying at the Hyatt and wanted to get a bite to eat at a local place when we found Refuel. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food delicious. We got the lil bite and the Big Breakfast Wrap with a couple excellent coffees. Spacious and clean, coffee refills and game table, beautiful plants and seating areas. They also have an electronic punch card for a free coffee every 11th drink. I love finding great places for breakfast! read more

People get it wrong all of the time... Small Town people don't actually want to live in Seattle. We want a coffee shop that reminds us of Seattle. This is that coffee shop. Refuel has the "vibe", but the bonus is, it comes with free parking and service is friendly. The coffee is smooth and not overbearingly sweet like you-know-where, and if I may add, the interior decorating is quite lovely. I dig the plants. There's plenty of seating We've been there when it was crowded and there was a wait time, and when it was pretty much empty, and the service is consistent. Was needed of some coffee so we stopped here and gave this cute little cafe a try, upon entering it was already really full no where to sit which was fine because I wasn't going to stay but its nice to know that at whatever time of the day it seems like they are always this busy. Any who the cafe was small but very well kept. The workers were really nice and helpful when asking certain questions. I ordered from their seasonal drinks which was a Frosted Pumpkin , and I I have to say I always try and give try to the pumpkin flavored coffees and its always a bust BUT I have to say this one was my favorite , it was not too sweet and the pumpkin flavor was not strong or over powering where it makes you do sort of a sour face lol so I will definitely come back for another. My fiancé ordered their iced caramel macchiato and she loved it as well it was nicely done not too much caramel or too much sweetness. We also decided to grab some bites from here so we ordered their Bacon and Cheddar croissant and their Mama Lil's Peppers and goat Cheese Croissant and my fiancé liked both of them we still got to enjoy it eating nice and warm. I decided I wanted something to go with my coffee so I ordered their Vegan Pumpkin Scone and I have to say IT WAS SOO GOOD !
