A friend and I went on a planned vacation to New England for four nights and did get some relief there. We returned home and our house in Abington was hotter than a sauna. I began calling A/C companies to see about it getting repaired. These were all good, honorable companies and to a man, they were recommending a complete replacement. Although I could have waited for a part for an old air conditioner to come and be installed, I eventually chose a new system. So, now, I got estimates for new systems. Danny D'Amore happened to be my last estimate. It was Friday and HOT. He would install it on Tuesday. Tuesday the 15th of July, just a few days after his estimate. So for almost a month of some of our HOTTEST weather, we, and our cat panted. Newly purchased box fans helped but 95 degrees is 95 degrees. Danny and his man installed the entire system and by 4 o'clock on that day we felt cool air. ABOUT DANNY D'AMORE: Fair priced for good equipment, an honest and complete line by line estimate, and non-stop work until they were finished. WOW! maybe it had been the heat we'd just been through but D'Amore HVAC just shined! We could not have asked for a better job by anyone. He also redid some flue piping that was oddly curved, no charge. This is a long review, but Danny D'Amore deserves it and more. I see he has a ton of 5 star reviews around the boards so he probably doesn't need this one. That said, contractors now a-days live and die by reviews we write. When she declined, they suddenly "found" the part and quoted $1,800, then took a deposit. A quick search showed the OEM part is widely available for around $150, and the job typically takes 1-2 hours. Charging $1,800 for that kind of work is hard to justify. To their credit, when I called and requested a refund of the deposit, they returned it without issue (hence the 2 stars). That said, the initial sales approach was misleading and predatory. For context, another company has since quoted $460 for the same repair.

Very responsive service and "diagnosed" a defective blower motor that was "one of the most…read moreexpensive motors I've seen" and "don't know if I can get one" immediately went into "upsell a new furnace mode" and was assured it was a "competitive price" Big mistake should have immediately called two other companies for quote. Installation was flawless, but the price was exorbitant at $8300. $6-6500 would have been a fair price for a $3400 heater marked up 1.5X and a 6-8 hours of labor at more than $200/hr labor. Met with owner and he justified the price mostly due to "knowing his costs", generous salaries for his employees, enormous overhead, advertising and a "small profit margin" Lesson learned. When the technician goes into upsell mode and tells you they are offering a competitive price, don't believe them. Get three quotes. Also, they remove any negative reviews and want you to not post anything detrimental on social media.

He recently installed a full overhaul for us, after help us make our very old system last way longer than it should have for the past 1.5 years. The new system (2 AC units + 2 heating units) were installed in under a week. We did the install during the hottest week of the summer and he made sure that we didn't have AC outage on either floor for more than a day and we were up and running before we left. We have lived in our house now for 4 years and our house has NEVER held the temp that we set it to (if we had it set to 70 we would be lucky if it would get to 72). It is holding now and nice and COLD. I found Pat via good reviews on google two winters ago when our heater broke in the middle of the winter and the company who I was contracted with told me they would be out in 2 weeks...meanwhile I had a baby at the time and could not be without heat for 2 weeks. He was there the same day and fixed the unit for me that the other company said I needed totally replaced. As mentioned above, he has been helping us tie the old machine over for a while and never pressured us to upgrade, just provided us with all of our options.
