Our heater stopped working on the coldest day of the year. My husband is a consultant to large factories. The same automation that controls factory robots is inside the heater. So we can't be fooled. The tech tried to tell us that we needed to replace the control board. That's a $2,000 repair. We said no, but still had to pay $300 for his service call. Then we called a competitor who showed us that our problem was a hypo-allergenic heater filter with a weave so tight that the heater shut down rather than pump more air through that filter. It cost us $150 for the other guy's site visit and $35 at Lowe's for a new, less tightly woven filter. Problem solved. Don't go to Scatton's. read more

Scatton's is awesome! We recently had a problem with carbon monoxide which the fire department said was caused by a defective 14 year old furnace which was rusted inside. We are grateful the co detectors were working! This happened on a Monday. By Monday afternoon we had an estimator arrive to give an estimate. We decided to replace both furnaces and A/C units. Scatton's rearranged a few schedules to do our installations on that Friday with two crews. The crews were very professional and courteous and explained everything to us in detail. We shopped around for a replacement HVAC system with several local companies. Scatton's carries Carrier, which is the leading manufacturer of HVAC systems. I asked for quotes on both a mid and high efficiency systems. We went with the high efficiency system due to rebates and lower energy costs. Pricing was what I expected for a quality system. Installation was as planned. All of the installers communicated with me about what was happening and all totally respected my home. All debris was removed. We had four local contractors come out and give us proposals on a replacement furnace and AC unit which after 18 years finally needed to be replaced. Vince, or sales guy, stood out among all sales guys as being very honest and resourceful in providing a very cost-effective solution for our unique needs. He was also incredibly knowledgeable about their products and was able to answer the many technical questions I had. He was on time when he met me, was informative and Victoria promptly e-mailed his proposal to us. He consistently answered my followup e-mail questions quickly, and was easy to contact via phone. He also followed up with me after the install to make sure we were happy with everything. The installers Jay and Anthony also did a great job of installing the new system then showing me everything we needed to know about the new system. They were also on time, had a professional appearance, and were friendly. I wouldn't recommend them . My furnace was not working . I asked for a quote on how to fix it and they never got back to me . They said they had to mail the quote even though I am in the same town . I was cold without heat . I went to a competitor for more prompt service . Never again . And they cashed the check for the service call that they did nothing to deserve . Never again . read more

The scheduling folks are terrific - and got to us the day after our call. Vince (the technician) remediated a sub-standard air conditioning installation - originally done by another company sent by our rather useless home warranty. I am so grateful for Vince (not sure of his last name) who came and fixed our problem in a few hours (not an easy one either). A couple of days later, Joe (another amazing tech) came to see about a high-pitched sound (that I couldn't even hear - my fiancee did) - within a minute, Joe identified the cause (tiny bend in cover caused the tiny air-leak). Within a few minutes more - Joe fixed the problem. No charge. These are folks that stand behind their work. I would never consider using anyone else. Recently had some maintenance done to my old boiler and baseboard heating system. Vince came out on time and replaced multiple air leak valves and an air expansion tank, and checked the system throughout the house all in a reasonable amount of time. Today will be my second time using Scatton's. I called them this past winter to fix my heater after another company charged me & never came back to fix it. They had an answering service that took my info, & first thing in the morning someone got back to me. The Techs. were out in a few hours & had my system up & running in less then an hour. Our HVAC was on the fritz. We got quotes from 3 local Lansdale companies.Vince Corbett came out the Friday night before he left for vacation and went over our needs for our home. He made some different recommendations than the previous two companies based on the fact that we live in a townhome and are an interior unit. This made me nervous initially but then I realized he was simply being HONEST and not trying to "up-sell" us. He had Victoria Chubb, their super nice office manager, send over our quote on Monday morning. My Uncle was helping us with the decision, he had some questions and Vince was kind enough to take the time to have a discussion even though he was on vacation, ACCOMMODATING!
