I had a contract with another company and they came out for my spring checkup May 2020. I didn't follow the tech aroundas I usually would, because of Covid-19. He found that we were extremely low on 410A. He said he could try injecting EZ Seal and replacing the 410A, but that was going to cost over $1,200 and there would be no guarantee that it would solve the problem, so I scheduled a sales agent to come out instead. Sales agent was very thorough and personable, but when we went outside to look at the A/C we found pliers on the ground that must have been left there by their tech. Sales agent emailed me 4 quotes for new A/C and evaporator coil ranging from Budget to Best. Due to high prices, I decided to get another estimate and called PSD Heating and Cooling based strictly on the Google reviews. Pat came out within 45 minutes. Looking at the A/C he immediately noticed that the 4 screws holding on a metal piece that covers the connections were missing and that both service caps were not connected. Found the 4 screws and 1 service cap in the mulch. Pat put nitrogen in the system to see if he could hear a leak anywhere in the system. He didn't hear anything. He used a vacuum pump and digital micron gauge to determine if there was a leak (my other company didn't do this or the nitrogen). Pat said that he was hoping for one of the gauges to be under 500. It eventually went down to 240. Pat recommending recharging with 410A because it didn't appear to have a leak. It is now 6/26/2020 and the unit seems to be cooling as it should. Very happy with Pat's thoroughness, quick response, and price. Pat doesn't have any other techs, so I am a little concerned about his availability for an emergency or during extremely hot periods, but will definitely be using him in the future. read more
