Their paperwork mistake is costing me THOUSANDS!…read more I am selling my house and I hired Avanti to do the township sewer lateral inspection. Their inspector, Bennett, filled out township paperwork incorrectly. He passed the inspection noting that there were only minor issues which he told me didn't need to be worried about. Bennett noted the small issues in the document stating "These defects are small" and "Defects were noted but I do not believe this constitutes a fail". Unfortunately, he wrote these notes in the "Required Repairs" section of the document. I spoke to the township and they said, even though the document is marked passed they can't approve a document with anything written in the required repairs section. After contacting Avanti and requesting Bennett give us a corrected document, both Bennett and Avanti's Operational Manager call the township and influenced them to not accept a corrected document and require me to replace the sewer line! They did this because they would be liable if anything happened to the sewer line and the incorrectly completed document came to light. Now, the township won't accept even another company's passing inspection document and is forcing me to replace a perfectly fine sewer line! NEVER USE THIS COMPANY!!

I also recommended them to a family member for an Air conditioning quote and they saved thousands! I hjad 2 other bids under $3,000 but they are really good salespeople telling them the Platinum PLumbing name was behind me and they do a great job??? Then after starting the job they told me the job was more work than they thought and have been holding me hostage by not finishing my job until I pay even more. They were there twice to look at my job to give me an estimate!! They left me with leaking and non working radiators and won't finish it, threatening to take me to court with the amount they now want to be even more, even though they still have not finished the work. Told me they didn't see the other cuts next to the very visible valves so they have to charge almost $2,000 more. If I don't pay they are suing me. I have pictures of them. My husband is an 83 year old Veteran who is ill and I am his soul caretaker so couldn't get over there for several days to check on them. I walked in to leaking and non working radiators with steam coming out. My floors are ruined under some of them and I have a hogh gas bill because steam had been coming out of them. They also did not get the required permit from the local borough to install a new hot water heater even though I brought it to their attention. the township inspector had to call them to make them get one. The hot water heater is working fine. I have written documentation on everything. I had sent them 2 emails about the situation months ago and never heard back until recently with the manger only wanting to talk to me on the phone?? They are rude and condescending, even in writing!! This has caused us so much stress! I so wished I would have used someone else.

    MONTCO Rooter - Outrageous pricing

    MONTCO Rooter

Very Expensive Sloppy Do not take Responsibility…read more On January 10, 2026, Montco Rooter came to unclog our sewer line. Their plumber used high pressure water to clear the line. When I noticed and told their man that some of the water was backflowing, he just shrugged his shoulders. Montco Rooter charged me $1549, which was three times what I was charged by another company a few months earlier (their plumber told me that they guarantee their work for 30 days). A few days later we went away; came back late on January 17, 2026. I noticed that there was backflow into a shower that would not drain). Yesterday (1/18/26) I called Montco Rooter asking to fix the problem: the answer was they are not responsible and will need to charge me again. Poor workmanship bad attitude!

I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1 only because the company came out quickly both times, and the…read moresecond field tech was professional and easy to work with. Unfortunately, the overall experience was frustrating. I had a blockage in my sewer line from the house to the street that caused my yard vent to overflow. On the first visit, they snaked the drain and restored flow. However, the tech told me in person that he did not clear the line all the way to the street -- only about 10 feet past the clog. He assumed the blockage was wipes based on what had overflowed, though he wasn't able to pull anything out of the line. We have not used wipes in the three years we've lived here. It's possible prior owners did, but that's speculation. He did not document that the line wasn't cleared to the street, but since they advertise a 30-day warranty, I didn't push the issue. For reference, I was charged about $800 for that initial visit, which feels high for a straightforward snaking with no camera inspection or confirmation that the line was fully cleared. They also would not provide even a ballpark price before coming out, which should have been a red flag. About 10 days later, the line backed up again -- still within the warranty window. When I called to schedule a follow-up, the person on the phone was extremely confrontational. He said that if they found wipes again, I would automatically be charged. He insisted the wipes previously found were "fresh," despite having no proof and despite me explaining we do not use wipes. It felt like I was being accused of lying. When I referenced that their own tech told me the line wasn't cleared to the street the first time -- and that the clog may have simply been pushed downstream -- I was told, "Why do customers tell us we don't do our job properly?" The tone was unprofessional and unnecessary. I remained calm and simply explained I didn't want to pay again for something that may not have been fully resolved the first time, especially SINCE IT WAS WITHIN WARRANTY. Ultimately, they did return and clear the line at no charge, though they voided the remainder of the warranty. Honestly, I'm not sure if he legally could void my warranty, but I was so happy to just be done with them that I didn't care. While I appreciated the second technician's work, the hostile communication, lack of transparency on pricing, and accusatory tone mean I won't be using them again. Quick response times don't make up for terrible customer service and unclear pricing. I hope this helps others.
