READ THIS BEFORE BUYING SOLAR!…read more When putting all the money out for a solar system it's extremely important to hire a local company that has its own installers and that actually cares about solar. Four years ago I purchased a solar system not knowing what I was doing from a non-local company. Five months ago half the system quit working. I contacted the company and they kept ignoring my request for repair. Then I finally received an email that stated they were going bankrupt. I found out that a lot of companies sprang up to collect the government payout and after things dried up would take the money and run. Since I am paying a savings and loan I couldn't simply stop paying and I still owed over 17k. They referred me to the company they contracted with. That company blew me off, there's not much money in repair vs full installs. I tried a third company that I thought was local but turned out not to be and the contractor they hire could not repair my system. FYI, there are different manufacturers of systems and they are very different. Finally I found Truesouth solar, their customer service was friendly and helpful. They sent a knowledgeable tech out who was on staff and not an independent contractor. He fixed my system and it works perfectly now. Truesouth solar did not make much money off of me and yet treated me with concern and respect. If you are in southern Oregon and want to purchase a solar system I highly recommend them. Down the road if something goes wrong, you need to be able to count on support. I literally contacted every company in the Medford area and Truesouth solar was the only one that was willing and competent to help.

I recently purchased a solar system from True South Solar. I had received bids from two reputable…read morelocal companies. Their price was similar. I decided to go with True South Solar because they use Sunpower panels which are highly rated, and they are a local company in business about ten years. Two of my neighbors had used True South for their solar panel project, and both were happy with the company. I was impressed with the follow-up. Matt, my sales rep, was very good about answering questions, both in person and via email. Once I made the decision to go forward with the project, there was very good communication between Matt, Aaron, the project manager, and the crew foreman. The actual installers knew what they were doing, and no one damaged my flower garden. So far, I am very happy that I hired True South Solar to install my solar panels. I would highly recommend them.

Don't waste your time as they're not interested in your business! Our real estate agent in Coos…read moreCounty suggested we reach out to them to talk about green home building since their seemingly pretty website loves to talk about all of their sustainable projects, from building to solar and more, and yet there is NO CONTACT INFORMATION listed on the website. No phone number, with links that are broken to contact emails, and just a contact page for solar. The only working link was for their salesperson (a few clicks into the website to find that) and their solar inquiry sheet, so we reached out both ways. You'd think the SALES person would be responsive, but nope, nada, nothing for a week. When we finally heard from Ciera, she actually said they were "too busy" to even talk to us to right now (even though our project wouldn't be til 2018 and we just were asking for some basic information) and that they would not be available til the end of the month. I am a small business owner and I would never have the NERVE to tell someone looking to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars with me to "reach out later". I emailed back with some basic info on what we were doing (including the house plan link we already had selected), letting her know that it was important we know we have a builder before we buy a lot in the area - because down there there are so few options and they were one of the only ones who seemed to focus in sustainable building, so we didn't want to get stuck with a property and no one who had a clue how to build in an environmentally friendly way. Another week passes and she says she is going to refer us to their designer / co-owner. Another week passes and Shannon Souza finally emails asking us what we want to talk about - not mentioning the tons of information we'd already provided. I asked her if she had read our emails with our details and she said yes, and asked if she could send us her questions via email or do this over the phone. I responded (within hours) over email. Again, another week passes. In the meantime, we're getting closer and closer on a property we like and planning a trip to the area to do a final review before hopefully making an offer (literally 4 days from now). Emailed one last time a couple of days ago expressing both our interest and frustration, including our plans to be in the area, and..NOTHING. Clearly Shannon and Ciera and their team could care less about getting customers. Guess that's why their website has no contact information, because they don't plan on responding anyhow! Zero class, zero professionalism. STAY AWAY FROM SOLCOAST.

They weren't the cheapest of the seven installers that bid on our project, but they bent over backwards to design and tweak installations that exactly met our needs for size, power output, and battery storage. And we have never had a crew on site that was as cheerful, hard working, and efficient as these guys. On time, always ready to answer questions, the cleanest job site either of us has ever seen, and instantly responsive to questions after the system was up and running. Going from asking questions to planning, tweaking, scheduling, getting building permits and approvals, installing, and selling power back to the grid, Zyles Perryman always let us know what the next steps would be and when they would happen. I'm not sure what's better, seeing our Pacific Power bill plummet to the minimum $14 meter charge or knowing that we don't have to worry about power outages and service cuts, even during fire season.
