I should've exited the building after the first red flag, but we needed flooring installed in our rental unit and I didn't have time to shop around at other businesses (this one is very close to my home). When it was clear that I was in need of fairly cheap flooring for a rental, I was immediately rushed through to select my flooring choice and was even left (by the woman that appears to run the place)mid sentence for a customer that had just walked in and likely wanted more expensive flooring than myself. My husband and I were talked to condescendingly, interrupted and argued with during almost the entire experience with the woman that appears to run this business. There was absolute terrible communication and scheduling. They even subcontracted the carpet installation! They left holes in the linoleum they installed and then blamed us for them...and each time I called to communicate, to ask when they're coming, why are there holes, etc...a finger was redirected at me...the paying customer. The holes still remain in my linoleum...that is BRAND NEW. I suggest you don't even enter this business's doors.

I worked with the owner. He was very knowledgeable and bent over backwards to help me. Also super easy-going. I was on a tight deadline and pretty worried about the cost, too. Recently I purchased some very inexpensive laminate flooring from Alves. It was .99 per SF, and…read morethey warned me that this product was not very sturdy and not suitable for many applications. Sure enough it was chipping quite easily during installation, and my contractor (not Alves) said it would not hold up over time. I returned the product to Alves and they gave me a full refund even though I'm the one who made a bad choice in purchasing the laminate. They were extremely helpful throughout the process, going as far as to listen to my contractor explain the problem with the product (of which they were already aware). Super pleased with the customer service at Alves!

I really wish I could recommend this company, they're very personable and I enjoyed talking with…read morethem. Unfortunately, their work is very amateur and they don't have the ability to do any better. They refinished a very large hardwood floor in my house and did a very poor job. My floor now has thousands of little marks from the drum sander all over the entire floor. In addition, the finish never leveled before setting up and there are finish streaks across the entire floor. The company owner was very nice and agreed with me when we both reviewed the work, but said if he were to re-do the work, it would still look the same. He said he would make a reasonable adjustment, but never did. He won't answer his phone and it's been months since we talked. My only recourse now is small claims court. Save yourself the headache and disappointment, find someone else, or just do the work yourself. It will turn out much better and you'll save a lot of money and time.
