Redshift is currently my go-to spot for studying and good coffee drinks! I really like how they have a "for-here" option with glass cups and mugs. They have glass cups even for water cups with a water dispenser in the corner, which is such an amazing way to reduce waste and to elevate the experience for those who want to stay longer inside. Food: My first drink I came during Valentine's day, where I had the sweetheart latte. It was so delicious, but I came again recently only to find out it was a special drink for the season. I asked the worker to try and find me a similar drink given I got an iced vanilla latte, and she did an amazing job by suggesting that I add a cream top and she would add a little cocoa powder on top! Even though it was a bit pricier, I had no objections because it was so delicious. The espresso was not too strong. Drinks were on the sweeter side due to the cream top, but it was perfect for me. My sister got the matcha flight (not pictured here), but she said that it was super unique, the presentation was stunning, and the taste was delicious. Service/Ambiance: The workers have been extremely informative and helpful every time I have come here. The first time I came someone walked me through the menu very nicely, and every time I have ordered they have greeted me or given me suggestions based on what I asked. They have multiple tables inside with many outlets, and they even have cushion pillows on seating that is against the wall. I've never had an issue finding seating or with long wait times as well. Parking is easy and free in a parking lot with no time limit. Overall: I will be coming back to Redshift for sure! Their drinks are wonderful and the seating is so comfy. I'm sorry but... no. Orange juice with espresso do not go together unless it's made creamy like an orange creamsicle which is what I thought I was getting. This was their most highly recommended drink and maybe I'm just not their ideal demographic. It's too trendy for me. I tried giving it to my friend to taste and he said it was gross also and he drinks 3 iced coffees a day. However, my friend got the oat iced latte which was good just an average iced latte. read more

Saw this on Yelp OC's IG page as the #2 new Coffee Shop in OC. Since it is right near home, I decided to give it a try. I always get my work done whenever I try a new coffee shop, so I am always looking for a spot with comfy chairs, and outlet, and some good drinks. This is what we ordered: Matcha Flight: This matcha flight did only come with one matcha. The others were ube, butterfly pea, and dragon fruit. I do not know why I was expecting this to be cold, but I do wish there was a cold version. This was something new and I have never tried this before. Matcha and dragon fruit were probably my favorites. This was also a bit under sweetened for me. Wish they had sugar options availble to add! Coffee Flight: You must be a total coffee lover if you are going to get this. They do not leave any sugar, milk, etc out for you to use, so we just drank this as it came. I think it was a cold crew, flat white, espresso, and drip. Great to try out, but since I am not a huge unsweetened coffee person, this was a pass for me. Apple Turnover: The cashier told us that they bake everything fresh in house, so we decided to give this a try. It was most like any other apple turnover. I just like mine with the sugared shell! I did like how they provided a space with a bunch of tables and outlets. The tables are a bit small but definitely usable. I saw a lot of people coming in and out of this place, so I do hope they do well. The staff was very kind and patient with us while we were deciding what we wanted to drink. Drip coffee is tasty, the largest size is medium -- not enough to finish a bagel. Salmon bagel is tasty, feels overpriced at $14. Customer service -- i.e., the body language and the language language of one of the baristas (co-owners? hard to tell in a setup like this) -- could be friendlier. Ample seating for work/study, which is how many of us view coffee shops as being ideally suited for. Piped music is less annoying than most places, which is as good as it gets, since it's impossible to find a coffee shop that trusts its patrons to provide their own entertainment options. The interior is very modern and minimalistic with a couple of seats/tables available to enjoy your coffee. I purchased a bag of beans for my friend which came with a complementary drink. Long overdue review. First time I came last year, the coffee definitely was the highlight. They make their own syrups and have several seasonal offerings throughout the year that are both delicious and memorable. You can taste the quality and passion in each drink. One major thing that differentiates them is that they are the only coffee shop that offers lactose free milk! As a Mexican, this is common and normal in Mexico. Yet here, they were the first to have this offering. Maybe some other places offer it too, great. For me, they were the first. The owners are kind, modern, friendly, and knowledgeable. Today was my first visit to Redshift and it: 1. Won't be my last. 2. Was delicious. 3. Was cute inside. 4. Had friendly and helpful staff. I wasn't sure what to order, because I didn't want to be my usual boring iced coffee person, so the barista (may have been the owner?) offered a suggestion to get the RAF Coffee with vanilla and I'm glad I took it! I usually go for unsweetened and iced coffee drinks, so this hot and sweetened drink wasn't my norm, but whatever, because it was so good!! It wasn't too sweet, it was super creamy on top, and it tasted like there's some real vanilla beans in there! No weird powders, no artificial after taste, just real ingredients. I know there is a big-box coffee business nearby and their drive-thru is convenient, for sure, BUT that place and its CEOs have enough money already and their coffee drinks are wack as h3II. Do yourself a favor and take an extra 5 mins this morning to go get your coffee at Redshift instead. Non-dairy milks available. Parking was easy and fast at 7:30AM on a Tuesday. If you live in the Lake Forest area, consider yourself lucky to have one of the best coffee shops in OC in your backyard. This cute, relaxing place is located in a tiny plaza. The interior is bright and happy with white walls and chairs and white wood for tables and benches. The owners (?), who were acting as baristas and also taking orders, were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, the type of people who instantly give off that warm & fuzzy vibe. They have a variety of coffee drinks, some I've never heard of but want to try (ie - RAF Coffee). They also offer a couple of food items and a small pastry case. I decided to get my ol' standby, a hot vanilla latte, and chose a croissant from the case. I sat at a table and both were brought to me in a minute or two. The latte was simply outstanding. It was served at an immediately drinkable temperature. It was so smooth and full bodied. It wasn't too bold nor too light; just right. The vanilla flavor was present and gave it a slight sweetening. The lingering aftertaste was pleasant and begged for another sip. I am not a coffee sommelier so don't have the proper vocabulary to describe how amazing this latte was. They roast their own beans so whatever they're doing I hope they keep doing it. They don't make their own pastries but do bake them in-house so they're fresh. My croissant was crisp outside and soft and buttery inside, a superb croissant to go with my latte. Redshift has quickly become one of my most favorite coffee cafes and I can be counted on to be a regular customer. read more

Stopped by for a coffee and breakfast after dropping my car off for tire service. Upon entering Redshift, the inside was very bright and clean. There was a good amount of seating and there was also WiFi. I ordered a latte with oat milk and a smoked salmon bagel. The latte was rich and delicious. The smoked salmon bagel had a generous amount of ingredients and the addition of a bit of balsamic vinegar reduction gave it the right amount of acid to balance the richness of the salmon and cream cheese. I also had the pleasure of meeting the owners, Eza and Denis. They told me that they used to own a coffee shop back in their home area and decided to open a coffee shop here. Denis shared with me that he roasts his own beans and I could see the passion he had for his craft. Overall, a great coffee shop find and I will be back next time I am in the area. read more

Such a cute little coffee shop! When you walk in you notice how clean and relaxing it is. The employees were so nice, friendly and helpful. I ordered a hot campfire latte at the baristas recommendation, presentation was beautiful, it came with a marshmallow on a skewer just like you would have at a campfire. What I loved most though is that the drink was not overly sweet or heavy with syrups. It's the perfect sweetness while still being able to enjoy the notes of the espresso. Consistent, clean and convenient specialty coffee shop newly open in Lake Forest. I started going to this coffee shop every weekend due to its convenient location and now it has become the favorite part of my weekend. Here are what I observed over the last six months of coming here both days of the weekend. - Excellent coffee with consistency. This means two things to me: first, they are on top of their roasting game (they roast their own) thus the consistent taste. Second, the baristas are equally skilled to keep the coffee taste consistent. Btw some of them have incredible latte art skills as shown in the pics. I think I've had four different baristas make my drink and they always taste consistent. For me this is the biggest win because I don't like to step into a coffee shop hoping for the "good" barista to be there. Also, this is a specialty coffee shop and follows the classic standards of it. I.e. if you were to grab a flat white or a cappuccino it would be the proper 8oz, not starbucks style. - Spot clean. The barista bar is always kept spot clean and so are the seating areas & the bathroom. In fact, the few times I stayed for my drink, I always saw the baristas cleaning. - Quick service. They are prompt and quick at making my drinks so it is always easy to grab and go for me. They actually launched a mobile app and I believe it would save your time even more. + Quiet. This one is a bit of a double edged sword. I would obviously appreciate the quiet ambience if I am working there,which I have a couple times and was great. However, if you are catching up with a couple friends here you might wish the background music was a bit louder. Or just be prepared to feel like you're talking real loud. So that one it would be up to what you are visiting for. I've seen some people complain about the prices on this page but I don't know what to say in today's world. I agree that the prices are not cheap but also feel like that is the case everywhere now. So I don't have an issue spending the same money on really good coffee. I also think that when these guys step up with the pastries game this place is gonna blow up so much more. They already have pastries and the food menu is decent too but the pastries do not serve the level of their coffee which is top notch. But all these things are secondary to what makes me love a coffee shop and this place is still very new and has so much room for growth. Summary: it seems like these guys know how to run the business smart and are on top of their coffee knowledge for sure. I recommend this place 10/10. read more
