I've had the coffee here before and it's usually pretty good (which is why I came back), but I decided to try their seasonal Mango Pink Matcha today. There's nothing "matcha" about it so the name is very misleading. When I asked the cashier what was inside the drink, she told me it was dragonfruit powder with house-made mango syrup but I perceived that there was matcha, BUT the dragonfruit powder is what made it pink. I never heard her say "there's no green tea or caffeine", and neither did my friend that was with me. I decided to give it a try because it sounded intriguing, but upon receiving it, I realized there was no matcha whatsoever so I really don't think it should be classified as a matcha. It's really just flavored milk. :/ When I asked if I could add a shot of espresso to my drink, she told me they can't modify seasonal drinks (I was willing to just order a shot and pour it in myself), so I just decided to leave since she didn't really offer any other options. $7 for dragonfruit powder, milk and mango syrup is quite expensive for what it is. I should've just ordered coffee lol. I didn't have the heart to throw away my drink in front of her, but I was very dissatisfied and disappointed. :( My friend enjoyed her Raspberry Butterfly Iced Tea though, and said it was very refreshing. -------- In response to the co-owner's reply to my original review, I actually LOVE supporting small businesses and will always choose to spend my money at them versus chains, but I do believe in providing honest and constructive criticism when appropriate. As I mentioned in my review, I have been here before and I enjoy the coffee, but today's encounter was not that pleasant, hence the 3 star review, which by Yelp's standards is "OK" - an honest rating for my experience. In all honesty, today's experience was more of a 2 star rating, but I was factoring in the other times I've been here, which is why I gave an extra star. I don't feel like the guilt tripping, defensive and passive aggressive response was necessary, especially when I mentioned positive things in my review as well. A nice spankin new coffee shop with some really nice and unique drinks. It's clean, trendy, and has a nice little seating area inside. They do have some must try specialty drinks like the raspberry cold brew and the bumble bee. Both of which I got to try out. The raspberry has a nice thick foam with dehydrated raspberries garnished. The cold brew below it adds a light flavor and texture to it when stirred together. I really enjoyed the bumble bee as it was a mixture of caramel, orange juice and coffee. It's almost the perfect breakfast drink with all three items. It was refreshing and I personally enjoyed this better than the raspberry cold brew. For my personal preference I'd rather have cold espresso with the raspberry float but that may not be everyone's cup of coffee. The service was good too and definitely a place worth trying here in the City of Lake Forest. read more

Tried two different times during soft opening period. All the employees are so sweet and you can tell they enjoy what they're doing. The first time I went, I asked for a suggestion if I typically do mochas or vanilla lattes + generally like things on the sweeter side, and they suggested the RAF coffee. It was very creamy, balanced, could still taste the coffee (was flavorful and smooth). I came back again a few weeks later and it was just as good as I remembered. For some of the reviewers saying it took a while--I honestly don't recall. I came with my husband on a weekend (both times) and don't remember it taking any longer than a normal boutique coffee place would be. Would def recommend! I'll be back. read more

New coffee spot in strip mall just off lake forest. Decided to check it out today and glad I did. Coffee is very good. I wish they had a better baked good selection but sadly none of the very few items looked that great. I had a vanilla oat latte which was very smooth and not overly sweet. They make their own syrups. There are plenty of parking spaces. The shop is very minimalistic and beautiful. They do have some indoor seating available. I got the Raf Coffee and Bumble Coffee. The Raf Coffee is very creamy and not too sweet at all. The Bumble Coffee was surprisingly really good, it's mixed with orange juice and espresso, so there's no milk in it at all. If you're in the mood for mediocre coffee served with a side of hostility, this is your spot. I made the mistake of asking -- just asking -- if it was possible to adjust the coffee temperature. You'd think I asked for a unicorn latte with moon dust. A simple "no" would've done the job, but instead, the barista (who I later learned is also the co-owner) acted like I personally ruined his afternoon nap. He seemed genuinely offended that I interrupted him... doing absolutely nothing. The level of unprofessionalism was honestly impressive. I'd recommend an anger management course, or at the very least, some basic manners training. Being rude to paying customers isn't a substitute for a good work ethic. Coffee was alright, but definitely not worth putting up with the attitude. Also, take a scroll through their responses to other negative Yelp reviews -- always defensive, always someone else's fault. It was my first time here and already walking through the doors, lots of smiles. I didn't know what to choose for my drink and the kind baristas shared their favorite recommendations. They shared that any of the raf coffees were amazing so I decided with vanilla. They also recommended the puff pastries as they just came out of the oven so they're nice and warm. It is absolutely unAmerican to force credit card only as payment. We citizens should not be accepting this forced tracking and (essentially) forced tipping with the giant screen turned around by the server/owner to display 22% tip option to each customer. The drink itself tasted good although for the size the price was a bit steep. Is it me or are coffee cups shrinking while prices are growing!? The place could be a bit friendlier and warmer in ambiance. The drinks here are well-crafted and tasty, no doubt about it. The only downside (for me) is that they only come in one size. I love this coffee shop! The ambience is perfect, it's honestly the only modern cute coffee shop I've found in the area. I come here daily to work on my laptop. Great music, super sweet and helpful staff, and they don't start cleaning early or rush you out when they close at 5pm lol so many cafes do that! Getting my car serviced and was super excited to see that an independent coffee shop in walking distance. Super cute inside and staff was very nice I ordered the "Bumble" (espresso and orange juice). Never had anything like it before it was the signature drink so I had to try it. It was delicious, mostly tasted of orange juice with a nice coffee under note. Presentation was also beautiful, had this orange slice garnish. I ordered the peach blossom matcha and honestly it was probably one of the best matchas I had. My friend ordered the coconut cloud matcha, it's less sweet which she liked.
