Can't really say much about it. Sign on the door said closed for a private party. No notice on social media until it was too late.

5 Stars -- Incredible food, generous portions, and the BEST desserts!…read more We came in with a big group -- kids, grandkids, the whole family -- and we were blown away by how good the food was across the board. We started with the fried boudin balls and crispy house-smoked bacon. Both were delicious and packed with flavor. We also shared a bowl of red beans & rice, and even my one-year-old grandson devoured it (and wore a good portion of it on his face!). The brunch board was a huge hit -- such a fun assortment of waffles, pancakes, pastries, fruit, sausage, bacon, and more. Truly something for everyone, and perfect for sharing. For mains: * I had the Trout Almondine with cheese grits -- and those grits were honestly the BEST I've ever had. Creamy, cheesy, and perfect. * My daughter ordered the ribeye and loved it. * My husband had a burger and cleaned his plate. Everything came out hot, fresh, and full of flavor. We weren't disappointed in a single item. And then... the desserts. Oh my goodness. We tried the cheesecake, pecan pie, and bread pudding. The cheesecake was the best I've ever had, and my daughter agreed. The pecan pie tasted like something straight out of a grandmother's kitchen -- my husband said it was the best he's ever had. The bread pudding was rich, warm, and equally delicious. The staff was friendly and patient with the kids, which made the evening stress-free and fun. Bottom line: we loved everything -- from appetizers to dessert -- and we will absolutely be back!

We got here around 8ish in the evening and it was raining so not many people here. So we propped up at the bar and ordered. I was in a martini mood so Gin martinis were my calling; they made them the way I like: slightly dirty w/ extra olives. I can't remember how many of those I ordered but they went down smooth. I didn't want to order anything heavy so I decided on the Brussels Sprouts and a cup of the Chicken/Andouille Gumbo. The Brussels were crispy and had a nice soy glaze to cap it off. They garnished it with some peeled scallions which gives a nice finish. I'm a sucker for Brussels Sprouts; if they're on the menu, I'm very likely gonna order them. The gumbo was pretty good, had a tomato richness to it. I forgot what my friend ordered; probably cause I had too many martinis. It's about a 10-15 minute drive from Hammond but it's worth it. Check it out when you're in the area!

Doris Metropolitan - Amazing ribeye

Visited Doris Metropolitan in New Orleans for a celebratory dinner, and the experience delivered…read more We started with the octopus appetizer, which was one of the better starters of the night. Rich, layered, and well-balanced with fresh elements that worked together on the plate. For entrées, we had a variety of cuts, including the Australian Wagyu, ribeye, butcher's cut, and lamb chops. The Wagyu stood out immediately. High quality, great sear, and finished tableside, which added to the overall experience without taking away from the food itself. Each steak was cooked precisely to temperature and full of flavor. The lamb chops paired with carrots and brussels were well executed and balanced. The sides complemented the meal well and did not feel like afterthoughts. You can also see their in-house dry aging setup, which speaks to the level of detail they put into their steak program. It shows in the final product. The drinks were solid across the board. The Old Fashioned and bourbon selections paired well with the meal and matched the food's quality. Service by Noelle was attentive and responsive throughout the night. Everything flowed well, and we were taken care of without feeling rushed or hovered over. This is not a casual dinner spot, but for a celebration or a night where you want a full experience, Doris Metropolitan absolutely delivers.

Not actually sure about the food or ambiance about this place because in retrospect, the attitude…read moreof the bartender who "served" us is all we can remember. It started the moment we walked in. Glancing at the hostess, asking "OK to sit at the bar?", getting a nod, sitting down. An experience we've done in hundreds of restaurants. (We had reservations for a table but often prefer the bar.) The bartender -- whom we believe was named Mike -- started off his interaction with new customers as follows. "Did you check with the hostess?" I nodded in the affirmative, apparently that wasn't enough. "Check with the hostess", he ordered. I got up, went over the hostess stand, and confirmed, this time so "Mike" could see, that it was OK for us to sit at a half-empty bar. (In retrospect, we should have gotten up and walked out immediately, but it was late and even in the Quarter most places were closing for dinner.) You see, Mike clearly didn't want to be working that night. He was rude, inattentive, and condescending. And not just to us, to everyone seated at the bar. Slow making drinks, slow asking for orders, seething contempt for his customers. One time we asked to see a drink menu to decide on a new drink, he said, and this is a direct quote, "Do you want to see it or do you want to review it?" Mike's behavior was clearly well-known to the staff, because another staff member, who was off-shift and next to us at the bar, witnessed this behavior and arranged for a free dessert on the house (classy move on her part). She confided in us that Mike's pretty much always like that, but that he's a buddy of the general manager so seemingly un-fireable. Well, here's hoping someone reads this and thinks the better of Doris Metropolitan, or at least sitting at the bar. Unless you think service you'd get in a Paris tourist trap cafe is appropriate for a high-end steakhouse, you're better off spending your hard-earned money elsewhere.

So close to home, so delicious, and perfect treat after long work week!…read more Bala oyster special appetizer was a spot on to curb hunger as we began meal. Highly recommend appie special. We both decided to have steaks and WOW! Filet with cream spinach and Cajun ribeye special were the entrees. Beverages paired nicely! I've found the blueberry lemon drop to be my ABSOLUTE favorite cocktail they serve. Destiny was our waiter and she was attentive and on point with beverage refills. The bar just seems to run a bit slowly... wait time for starting round on average seems a bit slow. Appreciate how restaurant has many smaller rooms to keep noise levels down.

As soon as the hostess sat us down I noticed that the table were very close by each other which I don't like simply bc I could hear the next tables conversation and it was hard to have a conversation of my own. Other than that, the service was good. Our waiter was very nice and efficient and knew the menu like the back of his hand! I ordered the Dru Platter which was the choice of two items off the seafood platter and I got the friend shrimp and fish and it was pretty good. The shrimp were my favorite and it was fried and seasoned very well. For dessert I had the white chocolate bread pudding and it was very good! Very moist and not to sweet but just right! If I go again this would be something that I would definitely get! No if, ands, or buts about it! That bread pudding was a 10/10! Overall, I would rate this place. 6/10!

Sitting right on the river, the views alone are worth the stop--especially around sunset when the water and boats set the perfect Louisiana backdrop. The food is where Reno's really shines, especially the buffet. It's well worth it--hot, fresh, and packed with Southern and seafood favorites that are full of flavor. Everything tastes homemade, not rushed, and the selection makes it easy to find something for everyone. You can tell they keep it stocked and take pride in what they serve. The drinks are cold, the atmosphere is relaxed, and it's the kind of place where you can pull up by boat or car and feel right at home. But no dance floor and no outdoor seating. Well, anyway, we looked over the menu and decided to try the buffet. There was some good stuff there, and some mediocre. Apparently, the locals love it. They were coming in pretty thick by the time we left. Lots of fried seafood options (including alligator, soft shell crab, and frog legs), boiled shrimp, baked catfish, flounder, and a lot of other meat options. You don't see sauce piquant very often, so I had to try the deer sauce piquant from the buffet. It had good flavor, but not much "piquant." Had to add a little Crystal hot sauce. And the meat was tough and chewy. Needed a few more hours in the pot. The flounder was very good. Best thing I tried. The "Cajun style pork" was good, too - chunks of pork and smoky andouille with pineapple and oranges. Very good. The frog legs, fried shrimp, boiled shrimp, and alligator were all good, too. The fried catfish was muddy and dirty tasting (hate when that happens). If you're hungry, this is a nice place to get your fill of south Louisiana specialties - I could make an entire meal of the frog legs and Cajun style pork.
