Loved everything about the brunch here! The waffles were like a dessert and served with ice cream on the side! It was sweet but well balanced. The seafood pasta was very rich and can be shared as it's a large portion in my opinion. Also, don't leave without trying there homemade biscuits. You'll have no regrets!! Service was great to say we made same day reservations on a Sunday! They have a bar with seating, regular dining and upstairs with additional seating and an outdoor patio! I recommend this restaurant for a pleasant brunch with family, friends, or even solo! read more

Okay, so big bummer...but dropping a star because our steak was underwhelming, bland, and under-salted. Unfortunately, we paid over $120 for our steaks--the main "star" of the show. BUT we had such a wonderful date night and everything else was perfect. The bacon-vinaigrette salad (huge portion) was delicious. The banana foster espresso martini...also huge and delicious. All of the drinks I've had from past visits were well-made. The staff and atmosphere are always excellent. The appetizers are delicious. We will be back, but not necessarily for steak. The lobster service, which we eyed at a neighboring table, looked well worth the money/experience. Maybe we'll try that! read more

Central location ONLY do I recommend. Let's make this very clear. The service is top tier

Attractive building we saw when passing through this part of town. Decided to check out the menu for lunch and the offerings looked like they would appeal to our diverse group. Made a quick reservation and staff was very accommodating. Everyone ordered something different. Lexie our server was terrific - fast and explained everything very well. Tasty food and good portions for the price. read more

Decided to treat myself to brunch after church today. I'm so glad, I landed here. This was my first visit to Stab's and I will return. My experience was so nice and warm. I did not make reservations today and luckily I was able to be greeted and seated within five minutes of walking in. As soon as I entered the hostesses greeted me and asked my preference for a party of one; bar, table or upstairs sitting. I asked for a table and was walked into the dining area within three minutes or less of the initial exchange. As this establishment fills up quickly, I'll probably make a reservation on my next visit. My server was Sabrina and she was such a bubbly server and offered great selections for me as it was my first visit. I ordered the Rosemary Martini, French Onion Soup and a half dozen charbroiled oysters with jalapeños and bacon. Although, the soup and oysters were considered appetizers it was more than enough for me and I had leftovers to bring home. Sabrina checked on me throughout my dining and I was also greeted by the GM and owner David. He was just as warm and welcoming as Sabrina and the hostesses. Coming here felt warm and welcoming and the food was warm and welcoming...simply delicious. When you enter the location, the scenery is so calming with a beautiful water fountain on site. You have the option to dine inside or outside. I will do outside on my next visit. The inside of the establishment is very nice. It gives you an old yet modern Victorian vibe with the high ceilings, staircase and chandelier lightings throughout. There's a nice bar area and beautiful black and white photos are beautifully displayed throughout. I have nothing but great things to say about my visit and I can't wait to return for myself and when my friends come to visit. read more

My wife and I went for our 32nd anniversary, and all I can say is... AMAZING! The wagyu ribeye was the absolute greatest steak I have ever had in my 56 years on this Earth! The Ceasar salad and roasted new potatoes were amazing, and the bananas Foster was spectacular! Our server, Colbi H., was beyond compare! Attentive, but not over-bearing! And the atmosphere was wonderful. Nice, but not stuffy. All-in-all, a perfect dining experience! read more

First let me say the food was outstanding and the service was very good. Now let me tell you that we had a party of ladies next to us that for some reason were playing some party game and were extremely loud. Couldn't talk or hear without yelling. Ambiance was ruined. Is it my responsibility to ask the waitress to quiet them? Then while grabbing the bill the waitress pitched me buying some gift card and she'd get a matching card for herself for making the sale. There's nothing I like more than after dropping a couple hundred bucks then being solicited to spend more. The value for the price isn't there, could have gone to Ruth's or Texas De Brazil and had a way better experience for the same price. read more

In my opinion, Stab's restaurant in Central is by far the best restaurant around. The staff is so friendly and professional. The food is over the top, and the cocktails are above and beyond any other restaurant. David is the best fine dining manager that I have had the pleasure of meeting. I have recommended Stab's to many of my friends and family, and I will continue to recommend. It reminds me of "Cheers". Because they will remember your name, and it is a fun place to hang out. read more

So I asked my wife where she'd like to go for her birthday dinner. She requested Stab's. I called and made reservations. The lady who made my reservation was very kind and asked if we would be celebrating any special occasion. I told her it was for my wife's birthday. When we arrived, we were greeted and quickly taken to our table. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. Our waitress did an amazing job! She was so attentive! Our food came out in a very timely fashion, and it was phenomenal! We had salads, asparagus, smoked prime rib and filet mignon. Wow...just amazing! Just when we thought the service and attentiveness couldn't get any better, our waitress brought my wife a complimentary birthday dessert of bread pudding! I also noticed that the manager, David Rine, checked in each customer. He was very friendly and talked to us as we weee leaving the restaurant...gave me his card to call him when we wanted to make another reservation. I just can't say enough about this place! Just go and enjoy one of best dining experiences ever! read more

The service was perfect. Very attentive. The environment was great (minus having to stare at the cluttered wine cellar that's more like a storage closet). Food wasn't bad, but I'm 99.8% certain that my filet mignon was just a sirloin. I know my cuts, and this ain't my first rodeo. You can do better than that Stab's. read more

Brunch for the Birthday Girl Don't skip out on Stab's for brunch! $15 bottomless mimosa with the purchase of an entree - amazing! Their brunch menu is just as appetizing and glamorous as their dinner entrees. The food was immaculate, delicious and left us wanting more! We ended up sitting upstairs which is a nice change but those are some steep stairs. Recommend sitting outside with the nice weather. The boudin egg rolls was ahhhmazing - seriously, I could have ordered two more orders and been happy! Don't skimp on the breakfast burger either - it's the same delicious burger on their happy hour/lunch menu plus an egg cooked to your liking - yum! The service was quick and prompt. Our server seemed unhappy when we asked about a cake to be served afterwards that was brought in - but it was most likely a miscommunication with management and not forewarning the server that they would honor a cake being brought in to be served. She was slightly rude to several of us at the table which made things uncomfortable for our experience but I'm sure most of us will be back! Recommendation - mgmt communicate with staff so there isn't a misunderstanding and a moody server providing a poor experience at a high end restaurant! read more

Whenever someone asks me where to go for brunch, Stab's is always my recommendation! I went Sunday to celebrate a family member's birthday. This establishment never disappoints, no matter the location. We started off with two appetizers for the table: The Charbroiled Oysters topped with bacon and jalapeños & The Boudin Spring Rolls. This was my first time having the oysters from Stabs. Dispute the oysters being really small (this could be a seasonal thing), the flavor was amazing! The cheese, bacon and jalapeños elevated the classic charbroiled oysters! I would definitely order these again, but hopefully the oysters will be bigger. The Boudin Spring Rolls are an old faithful! We order these every time and they are always crispy and delicious. For our entrees we tried the Smoked Fried Chicken, Fruit Waffle topped with Ice Cream, and the Filet Tips with Scrambled Eggs! I tried a little of everything. The Filet Tips and Scrambled Eggs with the mashed Gouda potatoes was absolutely worth trying! The filet tips are sizable chunks of steak and the potatoes are so creamy! I did my best to eat it all, but it was hard after I tasted everyone's food! The Fresh Fruit Waffle was perfection, especially with the vanilla bean ice cream! You don't even need syrup! The waffles here are sugary and lite, which makes you want to just inhale them! Finally, I did have a piece of the smoked fried chicken, but I honestly think it lacked some seasoning and was fried a little hard. The Smokey flavor was definitely there though! Of course, we washed everything down with the bottomless mimosas (great price point of $12)! We didn't expect them to be so large, which left no room for refills (that's a good thing though)! If you can manage to drink two, then you've got your money's worth! Highly recommend! Make a reservation if you are dining with more than 4 people. read more

Started with the Cajun boudin spring rolls and the jumbo lump crab cake. The spring rolls came with ponzu sauce and were delicious. Highly recommend! The crab cake was good but definitely not the best. There were just way too many crab shells inside of it and for $28 I just expected something way better. Our waiter also brought us some complimentary bread and butter right before our entrees came out. The bread was warm and fresh. For entrees, my husband and I both ordered the filet with a side of roasted garlic gouda mashed potatoes. Our waiter asked us when ordering our steaks if we wanted the crispy onions that usually come on top of them and if we wanted some herb butter to go on top as well. We both said yes to those two things however we never got our crispy onions. We also found out when receiving our bill that the herb butter was an additional $6 for each steak. $12 for some butter is just insane. Our waiter mentioned nothing about this when asking us if we wanted this. Steaks were good but definitely not the best I've ever had. The garlic gouda mashed potatoes had no taste at all. We had to add salt and pepper. No taste of garlic or gouda which we found strange. The ambiance inside of this restaurant is nice. read more

This drink omggg, Smashtini . So where do I begin, our server/my new bff Aven couldn't have done anything better. He was so polite, keep us laughing, and was spot on with every food choice recommendation. The crab cake, steak tips and mash were simply delightfully. We had to do our part by thanking the "chef" Kyle for preparing such an awesome feast . David even offered me a job after we were there for over 2 hrs and I requested a pillow and blanket Beautiful ambiance, so calm and relaxing, not overcrowded, we'll definitely revisit real soon. read more

i thought this was an up-scale restaurant, it was priced like one, but food was comparable to Chili's. They did not have ranch dressing for salads. Wedge salad was close to being frozen & Steak was mediocre, Brussels sprouts were tasty but not cooked enough. Not impressed. read more

I went to Stabs to celebrate another trip around the sun and my birthday! The menu was shorter than I expected but they had a nice variety. Also, the prices were higher than expected but the quality and service were great! We ordered the crab cake appetizer which was so fresh and delicious, I just wish it came with 2! I'm a seafood fanatic so I also ordered Ahi tuna for my entree. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of the tuna steak. My bf ordered the ribeye which he enjoyed. The only downside of ordering the steak is having the order your sizes separately ($10). The cocktail menu was great as well. I tried their watermelon mojito and absolutely loved it-perfect for the summer time. Overall, we liked Stabs and will probably return in the future. read more

We always have a great experience at Stabs in Central. We are typically seated right away in the area of our choice. If we ask for the channel to be changed we are given the remote. David the manager always comes around and speaks to us, he is super friendly. The facility itself is clean and beautiful with front row parking in front of a gorgeous neighborhood. The bathrooms are clean and tidy. The food is always hot and delicious. The brunch is our favorite so far. The bread pudding is a MUST try. For starters I was SUPER EXCITED to come here. I heard so many good things about stabs in general. I had a reservation for 7:30. When we got there they sat us the closest to the bathroom. Our server was SUPER great. We ordered wine and that came out fast. We got the crab cake appetizer. That had shells in it ** but it did have jumbo lump crab. Then we got the shrimp app and it was great. We ordered the sea bass and it smelled absolutely terrible. When the server came back I had told her the fish smelled awful and she was like yeah I can smell it. It's like ok... so they took it back and the manager came by and was like a co- server towards us? I ended up getting the filet with asparagus. The filet was ok. The asparagus was amazing though. We ended up getting creme brûlée as a dessert and the sugar wasn't even browned. They took the sea bass off of the ticket but nothing else. I just felt like they should've compted something just for putting bad fish on the table in the first place? I would try the Baton Rouge location but I will not be coming back to this one. read more

I had been hearing about the crab cakes for quite some time. Decided to visit one Saturday evening around 6:30. We had called the day before and made reservations. We were seated in the bar area that featured music played by a pianist. It was a nice atmosphere. We ordered Cajun Boudin Spring rolls and they were really good. Unfortunately that's the only good thing I had. We ordered the crab cake and it was just okay. Certainly not the best I've ever had. And nothing that I just have to go back and get. There is no kid's menu but the waitress suggested some items from the lunch menu for my little one. She ended up getting the steak tips with fries and seemed to enjoy it. I ordered the blackened Salmon with lump crab over the corn maque Choux. I didn't really like it. My spouse had the porterhouse and he didn't like all of the juice that was on the plate. He prefers his steak without all of the juice on the plate. Overall, nice atmosphere but definitely not anything I need to return to. read more

Wonderful place to have nice meal. Phenomenal service & spectacular food. I was highly impressed!!! Love this place!!!!!!!!

Very pricey, but worth the splurge. The staff is fantastic and makes every experience memorable. Can't pass up the crab cake or the boudin spring rolls. The steaks are always cooked to perfection, but so is the whole chicken. Brunch is fantastic as well. Cocktail and wine list are strong and offers something for every palate. The lunch specials are fantastic and David has rolled with the COVID punches to offer crawfish, takeout, family meals, to go cocktails, and safe in-restaurant dining when allowed. If there is any room for improvement, it is the dessert menu. Know that when you go, you are in for a long service. read more

So let me start by saying we cancelled our reservation for 12. Then we rebooked last minute. And they accommodated us! The table was ready early even. Great wine list. The food was phenomenal. The gumbo was rich, the trout was perfection. We also tried marrow for the first time and they brought extra bread for the table freshly toasty so everyone could try. They surprised us with complimentary white chocolate bread pudding for a birthday celebration. My favorite was seeing so many teens employed, all dressed up and learning the fine dining culture, etiquette, and manners. Manager David oversaw their every move abd made sure no detail was forgotten. I will be back. Tonight actually! read more

My wife and I stop in here every other month or so. The small, yet upscale atmosphere is extremely inviting. The service is absolutely fantastic. The owner can be seen constantly greeting patrons, checking on guests, working behind the bar and moving in and out of the kitchen area. He keeps a constant eye on everything in his restaurant. The cocktails are second to none in Baton Rouge. The specialty cocktail menu changes with the season and is always impressive. We usually grab a couple appetizers and a small filet; it's been consistent since the doors have opened a decade ago. read more

As someone who doesn't eat beef I'm glad Stab's has seafood, salads, and sides to fall back on. The staff is always friendly, personable, warm and inviting. If you have questions regarding the menu they are eager to assist you with making your decision. The staff knows the menu. (Which is important to me when I'm dining out.) The wedge salad I started my recent meal with was delicious. I appreciated the chilled fork for the salad, the attention to detail was thoughtful. For my entree I ordered the fried shrimp. They were perfectly cooked and huge! The grilled, fresh, veggies that came with the shrimp were delicious, they were a great compliment to the fried shrimp. The dessert special for Mother's Day was a Mississippi Mud cookie served in a skillet. This wasn't my favorite. The Mississippi Mud cookie was served in a cast iron skillet that had been chilled. Also, the pudding seemed to be Jello. When our waiter asked for our thoughts I expressed to him this wasn't my favorite. He quickly offered up another dessert. I politely declined. Another person at our table also expressed the same opinion. The waiter spoke with the manager and he took both desserts off our bill. Customer service here is important. It's nice to dine at a place that wants happy customers. If you've never been to Stab's give them a try. They'll make you feel welcome! read more
