My family and I go to this restaurant often, the steaks always come out prepared perfectly! Steaks are prepared to perfection on an open stop grill. The owner is the cook. I think he use to be the cook at the Caboose in Independence La. Brett is one of the servers and he's great as most of them are. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend! read more

Start off by saying it took 45 MINUTES to get just our first drink. So needless to say we were ready to order. Ordered two appetizers and then a filet and a New York strip. Sat for another hour waiting. Filet was cooked to the correct temperature but very very bland. The New York strip, on the other hand, was anything but. We are 99% sure I was served a pork chop. My meal here was wonderful. Biggest hit: The Appetizers!! OMGoodness!! An off menu special: fried Oysters in a bed of spinach, topped with a lite sauce, bacon, and served on half shell was the first on a list of deliciousness!! (CHEF!! PLEASE keep it!! Put it in the menu!!!) They were perfection!! Then there were the Spicy Sweet Shrimp!! One word: YUM!! The fried shrimp were also good, but the hubby wasn't a big fan of the crab cake. Next: The Double Cut Chop! Cooked to perfection!! Which isn't easy to do for me, I eat it well done (I know, I know!! It's not how I should eat things!! lol, I've been told! ) which usually equates to burned and/or dry. But not here!! My chop was well and still moist and delicious!! MY COMPLEMENTS TO THE CHEF!! With a nice baked potato and side salad, I was by this time in Food Heaven! The only reason this Review is not 5 Stars is because of the steak. We had reservations at 6:30pm on 10/7/23 for 6 people to celebrate a birthday. We waited 45 minutes for drinks from the bar and OVER 2 HOURS for our food, and didn't leave until 9:30pm. Our waitress was fairly new, but we gave her a lot of grace and settled for extremely slow service. We also settled for undercooked steaks because it took so long to get our food that we refused to wait any longer... but at no point did we ever complain about our food or service. We didn't feel like it was her fault, as she was still learning and new to waitressing. A fine dining steak restaurant shouldn't have a new waitress on her own at a large table. At the end of our meal, the "manager" came to our table and loudly blamed us for a mistake that the kitchen made. She was the rudest "manager" that I've ever come across and was very demeaning to our entire table along with the waitress. She made a scene and ruined the end of our meal that we had already waited forever to receive. Instead of trying to please the customer, she successfully got 6 first time customers vow to NEVER return. Lindsey handled this terribly and should be ashamed of herself. A very nice place to eat reasonably priced. My ribeye was amazing. I also had the crabcakes but didn't get photos of them and the bang shrimp. We also had the best waiter I cannot remember his name but he was a very handsome guy who was so sweet to us and they were very accommodating very welcoming. Started the meal with a great waitress Mrs.rebecka,she was funny and was more than willing to do whatever we needed/asked of her very good service. As for the food got the scallop appatizer (which the 4 scallops were a little smaller than the pictures showed) but they were very good. I got 8oz of new York strip and a sharing size of Mac and cheese. The new York steak started at 6 oz but I wanted a little bit more. The steak was just a hair over medium but it was juicy and delicious. The Mac and cheese was very cheesey which was awesome. The top was like shreds of cheddar and bacon where as underneath that was just right pasta,and creamy cheese sauce. The only recommendation is the filet. The steak tips used to be a great meal. Last night it was four small chunks of steak in a bowlful of sautéed onions with some peppers and onions. My husband and I ate here for the second time over the course of several years for Valentine's Day. The service and atmosphere were great but both of our steaks could have been seasoned more. Every time we visit my in-laws we try to get dinner here, the steaks are sized per oz. and per cut so it's perfect for every appetite. The plates come out warm and the filet will melt in your mouth. I consider the atmosphere to be cozy and intimate, but it can get a bit loud when there are large, noisy groups present.
