The benefit for this place personally is that it's literally three minutes from my house. Our favorite go to are the atomic sliders which are essentially buffalo wings style sliders. Which we also get fries piled inside of the large ring. This time we chose garlic Parmesan. As another snack item, we picked up the mozzarella sticks, which were very gooey and stretchy. The decor is very much of the Waldorf saloon by the university. The vibe is very laid-back and most of the clientele our families that are therefore baseball or softball games. This is a pretty nishe place if you're playing softball and need food and drink. One thing I don't like is the plastic cups. It's hard to fight the urge to bite through them. The food is just fine. The chicken wings are jacrispy and spicy. The French Dip needs more flavor. I prefer the meat in my mouth to have some zest, otherwise it's like I'm just going through the motions. Also, I recently tried the honey pastry desert. That was tasty. The honey just bursts on your tongue and leaves you wanting more. Overall, this place is a good choice. This bar is so cool! There's so much to look at. I enjoy getting drinks and food here. Ordering is easy if you want food you just go to the counter and it's usually really good turnaround time. If you want to drink you go to the bar and the bartenders are very kind and will make sure that you get exactly what you want. Everything was delicious that I've had here. I tried drinks like beer and food such as a wrap and fries. I highly recommend you check this out, especially if you are playing in a tournament on these fields. read more

It's a great place to dine if you're in the park. They're open late for anyone else that lives in Wingfield. We decided to stop here for dinner out on the patio and enjoy a calm Summer's night. We originally had dinner reservations at the golf course, but neither of us felt like getting ready. Casual date night was perfect! You have your traditional sports bar setting indoors and grill items on their menu. Games going on everywhere else! Located towards the end of the park, it's been interesting to watch the area grow. Football practices, games and late nights spent here. It's been years since I paid for a league sport that practiced here, but enjoyed running the back trails that led here living close by. My youngest will be here soon enough and I look forward to it. Oh and they serve beer and will deliver to you or call your name for pick up if you're watching your kid. I ordered a Jiffy burger, nachos and pizza. We kind of nibbled on everything and took home a ton of leftovers. Sucessful cheat meal and great service! We will be back! read more

We drove over 30 minutes to get to this "restaurant" and it was not open. In fact, there is no sign that tells you when they are open! We received gift cards for this place and could not use them since they weren't open. We won't attempt to go back, it's just a waste of gasoline and wear and tear on our vehicle. I have been here a few times on nights my husband played softball but this was the first time just "planning a dinner" there. It was actually for my birthday and I was trying to think of places that could accommodate a larger group. I knew they had big tables. It's nice because you order at the register and then they call your name. We did pizza and appetizers and of course drinks. I highly recommend them for just a fun evening out! I headed here with a friend when we were just looking for a place to cool off and have a drink in the upper Spanish Springs area. It took us a second to find it, note: just keep driving as far back into the complex as you can! But once we did, it was easy to walk to from the parking lot and up the stairs. We learned that they keep some different hours mostly based on when games are going into the evenings but have a full kitchen and bar and the prices are on par with what I would expect from a ball park bar. We have a great bartender who filled us in on some of the things happening in the area and they stayed pretty consistently busy throughout our one hour stay. You can head up to order food at a counter to the back and right of the bar and you can order drinks directly at the bar with two lines for cash registers. Just make sure you can hear when they call out for your order to be picked up or ask the bartender to help if you happen to be sitting right in front of them. Golden eagle grill is a great alternative to the Little Waldorf for folks who live out in Spanish Springs and like to watch UFC PPV's. Same ownership, very similar menus and decor. Reds has much better outdoor scenery with nice Mountain views that overlook all the ball fields out there that are pretty cool. UFC fights are free , food is comparable, I stick to burgers and fries just like the Wal, chicken wings and salads are meh, pizza is decent, love the atmosphere inside and out. Fun place for a burger and a beer and a free fight and waaay closer than the little Waldorf for me! Probably only half the size of the Wal so get there early to get a table. I usually show up at 8:00pm to catch the last 3 fights and last couple times we got a table easily but if it's a really big fight you might have to stand , which is no biggie. I typically go outside and walk around the deck in between fights , if people are cool and they are sitting at a big table with empty seats maybe you'll get lucky and get offered a seat or two - " I'll buy you a beer for a seat at your table"would work for me !! read more

Came out to watch a game, never eaten at this establishment... Boy will it be our last. The staff appearance alone should have been sign of the quality of the food and service- Waited 20 minutes to get service and our order in, they weren't even busy. The staff were constantly on their cell phones. Over hearing the bar tender who couldn't resist dropping F Bombs every other few sentences. Butt load of kids running around by the bar, loud, in & out of the restaurant, up and down the stairs, none of the staff or the parents put a stop to it, it was like being at a Chucky Cheese... Place doesn't have restrooms inside the restaurant it's self, like seriously! You have to go outside to the bottom level, and MAN are those restroom NASTY!!! . Took an hour to get our Pizza...it wasn't even fully cooked!!! With that the high prices they're asking? you are paying for a microwaved hot dogs, chicken fingers, etc... one of the staff informed us that most of food is pre-made from Costco, they just basically heat it up and serve it. I really hate being a negative Nancy/Karen... But, the 1 star goes towards the amazing all around view of the park and mountains... Only way I can suggest this place? If you don't want to lose your parking spot, or not up to driving 5-10 minutes down the road to somewhere else... I guess go for it. read more

I've long ben a fan of Red's 395 Grill in Carson City. A few years ago I had heard that they were opening a location up in Sparks and was looking forward to it. The other day, a friend of the wife's said "It's open and it's exactly the same as the one in Carson City!" We headed over last night, the directions sounded odd, as this place is literally in the middle of a Sports Park between two softball fields. Which means when you roll up, you have to hoof it a quarter of a mile. Sucks to be you if you're in a wheelchair or have a knee problem. When we got to Red's it looked like a typical slophouse at a ballfield churning out nachos, hot dogs, and burgers. Then they told us we wanted to go upstairs. Stairs...again if you're dining out with someone with a disability and still want to go here, you're going to have to lug them up the stairs. Upstairs and inside, there's no hostess and you enter from the rear of the dining room. Basically there's no wait staff, either, you order at the bar and go get your own food, etc. The menu is nothing like the Red's in Carson City. A few burgers, hotdogs, pizza, and salad. It's ok for women softball players after a game. Not worth the drive for anything else, I wouldn't even call it a poor imitation of the original. I don't know how the food was because the moron behind the bar told us to "order over here". We went "over here" and waited and waited and waited. I turned to my party and said, "Eff this place, let's go". Luckily, Golden Eagle's Park knows how awful the service is and like me doesn't expect them to last beyond the Summer. There are numerous signs right outside pointing people to real restaraunts that actually want to serve you less than a mile away! If you are coming down to watch / play softball...this spot is decent for pub-style grub and drinks. Our table shared a bunch of appetizers - wings, nachos and a quesadilla. The best of the bunch were the wings which were fairly plump and nicely sauced with a medium buffalo topping. We ordered the nachos topped with chicken and unfortunately they were rather tasteless (not too much in the way of seasoning). They really needed the salsa and guacamole to give it any punch. The steak quesadilla was reasonably good and was also improved by the addition of salsa and guac. So let me set a few things straight from the start. I have never been to the Red's in Carson City and since this place is located in the middle of a regional athletic complex, I was not expecting a Michelin star restaurant. I was just looking for a nice place to watch the UFC fight, grab some food, and knock back a beer or two. I found all of that right here at Red's Golden Eagle Grill. The food is standard pub grub -- burgers, fries, nachos, pizza, and salads. It's served reasonably fast and is pretty good. The burgers are cooked to order on a real grill so they come out with a little chat on them. The fries are crisp and tender on the inside. The beer is good and cold. That checked all the boxes for me. There were lots of screens around the place so I could see the fight anywhere I looked. You will need to order your food at the bar, pick it up at a window a few feet away, and refill your own drinks. The bathrooms are located downstairs and outside. Just remember this place also serves as the food stand for the sports complex. Don't go in expecting more than this. This place is solid if you judge it on its own merits. There was no cover or minimum to watch the fight and you might want to get there early to grab a seat. My wife and I will definitely be back for the next fight or if we're just looking for a good burger. read more

First off the food is great! But the design and service is horrible! You enter through the back of the restaurant and nobody greets you. So after navigating through the restaurant to the bar the bartender tells us to sit anywhere. He also told us there is no wait staff so our party of 6 had to walk up to bar to order drinks and food. Even when the food was ready we had to go inside to the bar and pick it up. Nobody else was even in there, I was surprised the bartender didn't bring it outside, he wasn't doing anything! Then when we finished we had to sit there with dirty plates all over the table because again they don't bus your table either. Each time we spoke to the bartender he was rude and acted like he couldn't be bothered. Maybe his poor attitude is why nobody was in there even though most fields were full with players and spectators. The fact that he couldn't be bothered to take our orders or bring us drinks/food really turned me off. If it is a concession stand the prices should not be restaurant prices. Also, the hours are sporadic. We visited the other day and we were told they sometimes open around 6:00pm. We waited until 6:30pm and they never opened. This review is of our second visit. read more

My wife and I found this place by accident, it looks like a great place to relax and forget about the day. While entering I noticed a young girl sitting with her feet and ass on the outside food service counter. - Gross! We went upstairs to the bar and grill where We stood at the "order here" counter for more than ten minutes. Some chick finally came in from outside and started serving beer to people at the bar who came in after we did-obviously her friends. After standing there several more minutes someone looked out from the kitchen - right at us , then another guy came in and went behind the counter. Nobody has even acknowledged we were there. Showed up at Reds Golden Eagle Grill on Mother's Day probably one of the busiest first celebration days of spring but the restaurant was closed! After calling to verify that Reds is open on weekends as well as their website and Facebook page indicates the restaurant opens at noon both Saturday and Sunday we showed up today May 20th as did the kitchen staff but the owner or manager was a no show. A group of 4 and myself and my husband all walked away hungry and bewildered. Don't know if I'd give it another try. read more

The only reason this place is open is because of the lack of options. Waited an HOUR for chicken fingers and a burger! I asked once if my order was almost ready because my daughter was hungry and getting restless. They said a couple minutes. After taking it to another table that had also waited a very long time, i got my food twenty minutes later, with no apology or reason why it took an hour to throw chicken fingers in the fryer. There is absolutely no excuse for this. They had more than enough employees standing around not helping out in the kitchen. Clueless! read more

If you are not about to play, or just played beer league softball I would stay away from reds. You have to order at the bar there is only one person taking orders. It's just not family friendly. Great atmosphere. Menu is pretty much standard bar food but is decent. Warning - if you order the wings, you get the ENTIRE wing. Went in to Reds to have lunch only because of the Reds in Carson City. It was packed with people, lots of kids as it was Saturday. We were told the kitchen was a bit behind as they just had a huge rush of teams come in. Understandable. We sat at the bar and ordered two beers, a Newcastle on draft 8 dollars and a Shock top 5.50. Both in plastic cups. After tip 16.00. !! Watched lots of greasy food coming from the kitchen and somebody returning a chicken burger back to the grill. Bartender was pleasant but we left and went to David's grill at the golf corse as the prices are actually lower and the atmosphere calmer. I didn't eat but feel the beer is way overpriced . BTW there is an elevator in the building and the bathrooms were disgusting as we were told to use the playing field restrooms . read more

This place is open most nights when there are games going on at the complex. They are usually not too busy and that may be due to the extremely high prices for their food and drinks. The service is always great, you order at the bar and pick it up yourself but everyone is always very friendly. Good variety of draft beers. Nice atmosphere with indoor/ outdoor dining. Food is above standard bar fare. Customer service is friendly and attentive. Main suggestion would be to add a happy hour or other promo's to pull in the locals. Once they come they will like the elevated 360 view of the mtns and all the HG tv's. Tonight was not a good night. Food was not as good as in the past. Wonder if the kitchen staff has been changed. I had always considered the hamburger to be one of the best....now I would have to say it dropped way down the list. Too much stuff on the bun, which fell apart. Hamburger had no tasted...Fries were not fresh. Beer (PBR on tap) was flat. Will not be going back. Normally the manager always stopped by the table....not tonight. Bar was really loud and busy. I think that children under the age of 13 should not be allowed due to the foul language. If the manager or bar tender cannot control the crowd....maybe the police should be called to have a chat with the person that could not control his mouth....way to many F bombs for my ears and I have been to many Raider games.... read more

Two words explain this spot.... Maximum Suck. Their POS system was down and they couldn't accept cash because they couldn't open the drawer. Our order was interrupted by this and all we got was a tiny over priced pizza to feed a hungry bunch and told to come back in an hour or when ever the system came back up and get our credit card back. No way. The people at the counter were very lazy about the whole thing. They couldn't even sell beer but the barkeep could pour shots for his friends. What a joke. read more
