Jonathan, the owner of Redmond Vacuum, was very helpful in addressing why our Riccar vacuum stopped working. I brought it in because the vacuum was shutting itself off and not working. He quickly found that the belt had slipped off causing the vacuum to shut it off automatically prevent further damage. The vacuums that are sold here are more expensive than what you might find in a Costco or on Amazon, but they are fundamentally much better built and repairable machines than the essentially disposable vacuums that you'll find nowadays in big box stores. We'll be back when we next need to buy another vacuum cleaner! read more

Took me vacuum in hoping to get it repaired, unfortunately the circuit board was done and Shark vacuum doesn't manufacture that replacement part. Jonathan was great explaining how the current state of vacuums and manufacturing works. I was actually blessed to get over 10 years, especially adding in a cat for 9 of those years. Jonathan was able to set up some options for a new vacuum plus trading in my old vacuum for parts. I ended up getting the Simplicity vacuum from them, and have been amazed at how well it sucks. THIS IS AN OLD FASHIONED VAC SHACK JACK! I stopped in at Redmond Vacuum on February 24, 2023. This is one of those old fashioned vacuum sales and repair shops that you just don't see any more! Cliff and Victor have been doing this for a combined 50 or so years. So they know what they're doing. In addition to all sorts of vacuum supplies (bags, belts, etc.), they sell new Mieles, Sebos, and Riccars, as well as refurbished used vacuums of other makes. They also service all makes, not just those that they sell. SHARKS WORK GREAT... UNTIL THEY QUIT WORKING I brought in my Shark Rotator floorhead nozzle that keeps having a problem with the brushroll scraping against the wind tunnel shroud. Victor took the time to briefly examine it. He even took the canister off the nearly identical Shark Rotator they have in their showroom to help make that determination, without charge! I was hoping that all it needed was new rubber spacers that mount in the wind tunnel shroud. However, Victor explained that the spacers were not the problem, but the brushroll itself. So I asked what would a new brushroll cost. But Both Cliff and Victor explained that Shark does not make new parts so that they can sell you a new one when it breaks down. We all agreed in the end that it would not be worth fixing. NO "DIAGNOSTIC FEE" FOR BRIEF LOOKSEE! Because they, especially Victor, took the time to examine my old Shark, and tell me what the problem is without requiring a "diagnostic fee" after a brief examination, I will strongly consider them if I buy a new or refurbished vacuum in the future, as well as vacuum supplies. My knowingly cheap Dirt Devil upright started spitting out debris from the back. I have a two year warranty on it and so I started calling around to see if any vacuum stores honor the warranty(surprise surprise they don't) if a part were needing to be replaced. But after explaining what was going on with my dirt devil the gentleman on the phone explained I needed a new filter because I used the vacuum to clean up fine powder(Carpet/pet powder). What do you know now it works. Although I didn't physically go in or have any services done for my vacuum, the gentleman on the phone was very helpful and patient with my vacuum inquiries. Outstanding experience! I went for it about 14 years ago and purchased a Sebo x4 due to the hospital grade allergen filtration and superior suction (for persian cat hair). So after so many years of a using this amazing vacumn cleaner, it wouldn't turn on. I did my search online and found Redmond Vacumn. After reading the great reviews, I left my Sebo for service. I was referred to Redmond Vacuum by a professional cleaner who has been a customer for many decades. She says that they are the best place to purchase or repair vacuums in the Seattle area. I was super impressed with my experience purchasing a vacuum from Redmond Vacuum. Victor, who helped me, was exceptional. I knew which make of vacuum I wanted but I did not know which model I wanted. He was able to walk me through the different models and clearly explained their pros and cons. Once I chose the vacuum I wanted he took it out of the box for me and checked that it was working correctly. He also explained very clearly all the controls as well as how to take care of it. He then packed up the vacuum back in the box and carried it to the car for me. I was impressed by how intelligent, thoughtful and thorough he was. I went in recently to see if my Dyson could be professionally cleaned because I had let someone borrow it and it smelled like dog hair... yuck-and I'm an animal person. What an awesome experience! Previously I had gone into a local Dyson repair shop (for the Same reason) and it was suggested that maybe I just needed a New vacuum-huh! Lol Redmond Vacuum made my 13 year old Dyson like new again. They replaced a part (a gear and belt .. IDK something that helps it work and pick up) that typically goes after 5 or 6 years with the Dyson, they blew all the dust out of the chambers that I couldn't get to and it smells beautiful with I use it! I also picked up a new filter all for $150! Way better than the cost of a new Dyson vacuum! I'm so happy, I could vacuum! Friendly service, quick turnaround time and I'd highly recommend for service or a new/used quality vacuum! Wow, just wow! I brought my Kenmore canister vacuum in here today thinking it was completely dead! At least that's what my husband claimed when it wouldn't work for him. Go figure! Turns out it worked just fine (we had a good laugh about that one) but as it turns out, it was in desperate need of a new filter and most likely overheated and therefore didn't work. We've had a housekeeper for the past five years so it's rarely used these days, but I have to wonder...when had the last one been replaced??? Cliff took the time to make sure all the electrical components worked, replaced the bag (for free) and only charged me $4 for a new filter. Tired of seemingly disposable vacuums from big box stores, I finally tried this place a little over a year ago. Victor helped me select a vacuum that fits my family's needs and it is holding up beautifully. It's great having a local shop where I can purchase replacement bags and filters. I went in today to purchase a replacement filter, mentioned that I was troubleshooting a lack of suction, and the salesperson was extremely helpful in showing me where and how to locate a clog. I was pretty nervous aftrr a small but essential piece of plastic broke of the handle of my Miele rug brush a month before I'm due to move to Europe. After my move I'll need a new vacuum cleaner anyway due to voltage conversion issues. A replacement handle would have set me back $80 or $20 per week of use. This place truly deserves 5 stars. I can't remember the last time I've been to any business that has been this honest and helpful. I went once before about a year ago to get a belt for my old vacuum. It cost less than $5 and the vacuum was working again when I put it on myself. I appreciated the lack of upsell of services. I called yesterday and got 15 minutes advice about my weakly functioning Dyson. On his advice I blasted it out with a leaf blower, which greatly restored suction, but it still seemed off so I brought it over. He spent a good twenty minutes with the vacuum, reported no blockages, clean filters, a well enough functioning motor/belt. It turned out I just didn't flip the switch to carpet, then it worked great. He put it in my car for me and didn't charge me anything. I feel bad. I should've offered him some payment for spending 35 minutes helping me do a DIY job, like a consult or something, and not charging me for services I didn't need! I'll be sure to take any vacuums I can't fix myself back here for sure. read more

We brought a 5-year old Dyson Ball Animal in for repair. It still worked fine except that the brush head wouldn't turn, in spite of having taking the ENTIRE thing apart twice to remove any debris, hair, etc...meaning we couldn't vacuum carpets properly at all. I was waiting for the bad news: get a new one for $499. But no! Redmond Vacuum discovered a tiny, tiny belt had broken, which normally never breaks in these things. $60 repair saved us so much money! Had a Dyson with no suction and took it to a different vacuum repair place. They told us the clutch was bad, needed to be replaced. Cost was too high - better to just buy a new one. Then we thought "Let's get a second opinion" and took it to Redmond Vacuum. The owner, Cliff, quickly diagnosed the problem - just needs to be serviced. $60 and we're back in business.. Our Dyson stopped working and we just could not see replacing it before seeing if it could be fixed. We dropped it off at a place in Redmond. They had it for a week and didn't even look at it! We picked it up and took it to Redmond Vacuum. The owner was so nice, he said he would do a tune up on it for$69 and would call when it was done. Another one of those 3.5 reviews. I have this vacuum cleaner I've had for 10 years now. I can't bear to let it go. And I'm Asian - where we use things forever - and it just seems wasteful to dump a vacuum cleaner (although I could have bought two from the money I have spent keeping it running). Every so often, the roller burns out (because gunk gets stuck in it). And I trudge to Redmond Vacuum to get a new one. I must have bought about 5 rollers from this guy - he doesn't negotiate prices down, not even when I want to buy multiple rollers - say I want to buy two rollers. Prices are slightly higher than the one in Bellevue near DMV (I've gotten cheaper bargains there). When he doesn't have the stuff I want, he's good in recommending alternatives. One time, he put some oil to lube the broken roller so I could continue using it till I got one. read more
