I was looking for a mostly green moving option. I used them, in combination with regular boxes for items that were still at my ex boyfriend's in the hinterlands (no comment...it was a very mother earth time of my life), to move, hopefully for the last time. My mom even came and helped me pack (I know...I tried to talk her out of it, but secretly I think she just wanted to go through my stuff). They were delivered right on time, wheeled to my door. A studio stack was about 7 feet tall, by the way. No tape. Labels supplied. It's pretty easy to pack a whole kitchen and bedroom in less than a day, which is exactly what Nancy did. Whoo hoo. Gave her more time to flirt with my doorman. Sigh. They picked them up a few days after, right on time, with a text the day before asking me to confirm pickup, and a 15 minute call beforehand to warn me they were in the neighborhood. Having them picked up is exactly the motivation I needed to get everything unpacked and put away, kind of. (Don't look in my drawers...things may come flying out). I was extremely happy with my decision to use Redi-Box. They deliver and pick up on time. The boxes are extremely sturdy, the uniformity makes everything easier and the amount of boxes was more than perfect. Plus, they are environmentally friendly, which is important to me. I would recommend this to everyone, instead of having to search for boxes and deal with people on CL trying to sell their cardboard junk for 50 bucks. Suggestion: possibly offering TV or Wardrobe boxes (maybe longer sizes) so that you can get the complete package. Also, offering boxes that can be used for packing dishes or other fragile items. Used them twice this year, fantastic both times. Beyond the simple convenience and lack of garbage, the best argument I can make is that with all our items in rigid modular boxes our movers breezed through he whole move, and finished two hours ahead of schedule, which saved us $400. Also, on the most recent move, we had to reschedule BOTH our box pickup and dropoff on short notice, and both adjustments were immediately accommodated. Redi-Box rocks! We used their awesome boxes while moving from our 3 bedroom townhouse and I couldn't imagine going back to cardboard boxes after our Redi-Box experience! We have a 2 1/2 year old and an infant, so needless to say any way we could make this move easier was appreciated. Redi-Box saved us tons of time when packing, since we didn't have to assemble any boxes. They were delivered right to our home clean and ready to use. You can easily open and close the boxes countless times, unlike with taped boxes. We used masking tape and a marker to indicate which room each box was for. The movers definitely appreciated sturdy and easy to stack boxes when loading and unloading their truck. No wasted space! Unpacking was a breeze and like the previous poster, it kept us committed to not having unpacked boxes lying around for weeks. Bobby is super friendly and professional and we greatly appreciated him coming to our house, even though we were a little outside of his service area. Seemless process and well worth the money! I had looked at renting these handy boxes from my moving company as well as Redi-Box. Overall, Red-Box was much more personal and did not charge a pick-up fee as my moving company would have. They also provide a discount for the online order. The delivery guy was very nice and respectful of my homes and worked carefully to get the boxes in and out quickly. Communication was really great both for the drop-off and pick-up. I had used plastic boxes like this for office moves in the past and decided to do it for my personal move and could not have been more pleased. I absolutely loved using Redi-boxes. They were large enough to fit basically everything. There were very few items that didn't fit the boxes. I felt safe putting my electronics and other breakables in the boxes. They were very sturdy and strong. They didn't collapse under all the weight. None of my items were broken and I didn't have to deal with tape and cardboard boxes. They provided labels too. It was money well spent. I will use the Redi-boxes for my next move. The movers loved moving these as they were easy to grasp and roll on the rolling carts. They stacked up nicely too. I recommend anyone moving to use these boxes. Used these guys for our move from a one bedroom condo to a house. We still had some boxes unpacked from last move a year ago- and various sizes of empty cardboard boxes -but still decided to order 30 redi boxes as they are shorter than a medium cardboard box - and we always seem to have more stuff than we think. The boxes came promptly with removable labels for the boxes and the package paper we ordered extra. 2 weeks later they picked up from our house. I don't know how on time they were as I was not home both times - but they always texted and called in advance to confirm the drop off/ pick up. Loved the idea and execution of redi box- no more throwing away cardboard boxes and tapes! 30 was barely enough- and some stuff didn't fit into them. Overall a great idea- though I wish there are 2 other sizes to choose from - a smaller size for heavy things Iike books and a larger for miscellaneous items like lumbar roll, cookie sheet. read more

Redi-Box is super easy. They deliver the boxes and pick them up at a time that's convenient to you (even weekends, and even holiday weekends), which is great. They are good-sized and easy to move around (you can stack them and then slide the whole stack across the floor, which makes it easy to move heavy stuff). I had movers and this also made it easier and quicker for the movers. On top of that, Bobby from Redi-Box is very nice and polite. We had 30 boxes for our 2 bed apartment and that was just about right (we did use suitcases for clothes etc.). Truly had the MOST incredible experience with Redi-Box, and I can't say enough good things. Bobby was a complete dreamboat to deal with: Professional, accommodating, understanding. I had ordered the boxes (15) for my move over the holidays. Boxes arrived right on time (delivered by John) and were a breeze to pack and move. Then, disaster struck. My new landlord turned out to be a creep with rage issues who (a) gave my key to people without my consent or knowing, (b) used my heat to thaw out the building when an upstairs neighbor never got gas (despite living there for 3 months) and the pipes froze, and (c ) called me nasty names when I confronted him politely about giving my key out. Moreover, I felt comforted that my items were in the apt still packed in the Redi-Boxes, especially given the threat of a pipe bursting. The boxes are strong, waterproof, and easy to move. Needless to say, I wasn't gonna live in that apt and had to pack up my stuff and get the heck out. When I told Bobby what had happened and that I'd need the boxes for longer, he was so accommodating and understanding, and even discounted the weekly rate for keeping the boxes longer. Amidst a truly frustrating and terrible situation, Redi-Box was a real superhero. When I finally got all of my things settled and in storage, John came to pick up the Redi-Boxes and completely rolled with the last-minute change in pick-up location. Bottom line: This company is fantastic. Not only because Redi-Box is an environmentally friendly, responsible choice, but because they really understand customer service and are human beings. I will use them for every move I ever do and will recommend them from the rooftops. There's absolutely everything to love about Redi-Box and nothing to dislike. It's environmentally friendly and cheaper than cardboard boxes. You don't have to trudge all over town collecting boxes, you don't have to break them down and dispose of them after your move, and you don't have to worry about the bugs that sometimes hitch a ride in cardboard boxes that have been sitting around in warehouses. The boxes are really strong and safely stack many tiers high. The sawtooth design of the lids means you don't need tape and you can pop them open to put in lone items you forgot. Having to return them forces you to unpack quickly (I really needed this incentive). And the service is really, really good -- responsive, friendly and on time. We ordered too many boxes (they're big) and Redi-Box even came back to pick up the unused ones so we wouldn't have to move them. In love with Redi-boxes! We had 10 days to move so I opted for Redi-boxes since I hadn't collected any cardboard boxes and wanted to stay environmentally friendly. I did not realize how much more practical these boxes are compared to cardboard. First, these boxes have handles. No more struggle trying to carry an awkward box up 3 flights of stairs. Second, you're saving time because you're not configuring and taping boxes. But more importantly, the boxes are sturdy. You can fill them up and stack them without crushing your items. Also, you have no fear that the box is going to rip halfway through the move and end up looking like Kevin McCallister coming home from the grocery store. I really think part of the reason I was able to have such a quick move with the movers is because of these boxes. They are 1 standard size so they stacked neatly in the truck without wasted space. Our movers finished over an hour early which saved a ton of money. We had the boxes dropped off 4 days before the move which gave us plenty of time to unpack at the new place. You virtually do no work since the boxes are dropped off at your location and picked up at your new location. Definitely worth renting these boxes. read more
