Then it was probably another 40 minutes before we actually got our food. I'm not sure if it was this lag time that affected the food quality, but several of my items were just lukewarm and some even cold? The star of the show was definitely, the molcajete. This came out sizzling and full to the brim with shrimp, nopales, chicken, asada, cheese, and lots of other goodies. In hindsight, I probably should've ordered one for myself. I went with the chicken mole enchiladas. Again, the sauce was okay but not super spicy, and it was a little cold, as was my side of rice and beans. We also ordered the mini birria chimis to share. and these were just OK, they tasted like frozen food. Overall, if you come here, I highly recommend getting the molcajete, but can't really vouch for any other items. Maybe we'll try it again on a less busy night.

The tortillas are locally sourced, and the fillings burst with flavor. If you're in Tucson, Arizona, you absolutely must check out Redbird Scratch Kitchen + Bar! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with warm smiles and a prompt welcome that set the tone for an incredible dining experience. We chose to sit on their beautiful patio, which perfectly complements the vibrant atmosphere of the restaurant. The combination of tasteful decor and a laid-back vibe makes it an ideal spot for relaxation and enjoyment. You can feel the history and passion behind Redbird--this place truly embodies the spirit of Tucson. Now, let's talk about the food and drinks! I kicked off my meal with the Redbird Old Fashioned, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Made with Four Roses Bourbon, Angostura Bitters, cane syrup, and Luxardo cherries, it was then smoked table-side with wood chips--a delightful touch that added a unique flavor profile to this classic cocktail. For my entree, I indulged in the Blue Mushroom Burger, and wow, it was an explosion of flavors! The combination of cremini red wine mushrooms, soft butter onions, and blue cheese crumbles was heavenly, and the blue cheese sauce took it to another level. Paired with their crispy waffle fries, this meal was nothing short of perfection. Overall, the service was impeccable, the food was outstanding, and the ambiance was inviting. Redbird Scratch Kitchen + Bar has definitely earned its five stars, and I can't wait to return for another unforgettable meal! PS The warm towels are nice touch! read more

Redbird is an absolute GEM in Tucson! We had such an incredible meal and honestly couldn't stop talking about the food afterward. The shrimp tacos were AMAZING -- packed with flavor, perfectly cooked shrimp, and the perfect combination of fresh toppings and sauces. Definitely something I could eat over and over again! The nachos were also next-level. Loaded with delicious toppings without being soggy or overwhelming, and every bite was full of flavor. And the shrimp ceviche was so fresh, bright, and flavorful -- the perfect balance of citrus, spice, and fresh ingredients. Everything tasted incredibly fresh and thoughtfully prepared. Add in the beautiful atmosphere and wonderful service, and Redbird is easily a place we'll be coming back to again and again. Redbird Scratch Kitchen absolutely delivers! The energy here is electric -- fun, upbeat, and always buzzing with good vibes. It's the kind of place that makes you want to settle in and enjoy the whole experience. The burgers are on another level -- juicy, flavorful, and made with top-quality ingredients. Each one feels like it was crafted with care, not just thrown together. Pair it with one of their craft cocktails, and you've got a winning combo. The drinks are creative, balanced, and as good as any high-end bar, but served in a laid-back, welcoming space. Service is quick and friendly, and everything from the food to the atmosphere hits just right. Whether you're out with friends or just craving a killer burger and a great drink, Redbird is the spot. We had a great experience at Redbird Scratch Kitchen & Bar! The food was fresh and full of flavor -- you can really tell they make everything from scratch. We tried the Sonoran burger with a side of street corn, and both were delicious. The burger had just the right amount of spice, and the street corn was perfectly seasoned. We also shared the queso fundido and mac & cheese, which were both rich, cheesy, and satisfying. From the moment we sat down, everything was phenomenal. The food? Incredible. The chips and salsa? Addictively good. The atmosphere? Warm, welcoming, and the perfect setting for an unforgettable meal. I ordered the skirt steak, and it was served on a slab of Himalayan salt! Not only was the presentation jaw-dropping, but the flavor profile was unlike anything I have ever experienced. Every bite was packed with bold, perfectly balanced flavors that had me savoring every second. Someone in my party ordered the enchiladas, and let me tell you--the sauce they use should be illegal. Rich, flavorful, and absolutely divine. I found myself eyeing their plate almost as much as my own! By the end of the meal, I was literally grinning from ear to ear and practically drooling over everything that hit the table. This wasn't just dinner--it was an experience. If you're not from Vail, make the drive anyway. It is 100% worth it. Some restaurants serve food. This place creates memories. WITHOUT QUESTION.

The carnitas plate was well seasoned, flavorful, and delicious with the corn tortillas. They give good portions and the food comes out nice and hot.
