Ok, so...I've been seeing the RedBin subway ads on my way to and from work for the last few weeks and after coming home to my hysterical pregnant wife (who has been desperately trying to make space in the apartment for our new baby), I decided it might be a good time to pull the trigger and get this crap out of the apartment. After checking their Yelp reviews just to make sure all was kosher, I found a discount code and headed over to the site to place my order. The process was fairly easy and only took a few minutes. (I ordered 8 bins based on some the info listed on the site). It came out even cheaper than advertised, can't complain about that. The next day, I planned to be home during the 2 hour delivery window where they would drop off the bins, but I had to run to the store quickly during the time slot. I was worried I'd miss the driver, so I was rushing and frantically running around the store...but then I get a text from the driver telling me he's on his way with a link to track his location on a map. Awesome! He was still about 15 minutes out, so I took my time finishing my shopping and got home with time to put my stuff down before he arrived. The delivery guy was super nice. He dropped off my 8 bins, asked if I had any questions and I was on my way. That night, my wife and I spent time cleaning out every inch of our apartment finding things to get rid of. The bins fit a lot more than I thought they would which was a nice surprise. The next day (just as scheduled) the RedBin delivery guy texted me when he was on his way and I was waiting with my (now full) bins. Just like the first delivery guy, this guy was really friendly and offered to show me how it all worked. He took each bin and snapped a picture of the top of the bin with his iPad and then secured them into the van. He explained that the pictures would help me identify the bins later should I want to only get a single bin back and that the pictures would be available online in my RedBin account. I thought that was a fairly clever way to keep track of the bins, rather than assigning some ID number that I would never remember. He finished loading the bins, thanked me, and that was that. I've never even heard of on-demand storage before I saw the RedBin ads on the subway, and I'm happy to say that the experience completely blew me away. It was so smooth and pain free and I'm still baffled by how cheap it is (my parents pay like $500/month for their storage unit in Brooklyn). Our apartment is much cleaner now and I'm pretty sure we're going to be ordering a few more bins to stash away our summer clothes so we can reclaim some under-bed space before the baby arrives. Oh and best of all, the wife is calmer now that there's less crap strewn about the apartment. Can't beat that! read more

I am a big fan! The pick up and drop off were both seamless. Their app isn't worth much (it's basically just a version of their website, which isn't the most reliable either), but I called and spoke with Ann Marie multiple times and she was always very pleasant and helpful. Dont waste your time or $$ with them. They have moved locations and dont answer the phone when u call during business hours at any time. I left a voicemail got a call back days later only because i needed to pay the bill. I made sure to set up a delivery appt to end business with redbin i made sure to ask the person on the phone that i was cancelling the service she said yes i asked twice just to make sure.They were over an hour late to deliver. This was last month. I got a nice bill from redbin this month again as if i was still storing my stuff with them. I called again and noone answered again. I left a voicemail and they never returned my call. They did refund my money a few days later. This company wasn't bad at first i never had to leave a message they always answered and were polite now its trash. The woman who answered the phone was talking to me like i was stupid it was very frustrating and she ended up fucking shit up on top of that but whatever glad im not giving them my money anymore! read more

2 weeks later and RedBin continues to not issue the refund they promised, to lie in communications (directly contradicting their previous written communication!, not to mention fact!), and only respond after after 50+ attempts to contact them. If you want to deal with liars, cheaters, and thieves, apparently this is how you do so. read more

Red Bin is such an amazing storage option!! They deliver the bins at any day, on the time of your choosing, and pick it up whenever you want - it can't get more convenient than that. They are organized, make sure to keep tabs of the bins and what is in them for the customer's convenience, and the staff is so friendly and helpful! Just had my first RedBin experience and I am already obsessed! I ordered 6 boxes, they were dropped off right on time. When I got a phone call to confirm my scheduled pickup, I asked if they could bring 3 more boxes and they were happy to accommodate. The person who came to handle the pickup was also right on time, and while he was processing my initial 6 boxes, I filled up 2 new boxes with my remaining items. He added those 2 to the order and I wasn't charged for the 3rd additional box that I didn't end up needing. This is such a magical and convenient storage solution! I can't believe I can enjoy the benefits of storage without having to leave my apartment -- AND my closets and cabinets are no longer overstuffed. Thanks! read more

Had initially scheduled for pick up on Saturday 5/21 but was told by a Rep that there was no pick on my account. Confused, I explained I had a receipt that said otherwise and the rep was unable to explain why this might be. No biggie, I scheduled for Sunday pick up. Come Sunday 5/22 I call to confirm pick up, but am told by a different Rep there is NO PICK UP scheduled on my account! However, this Rep explained that my account has no pick up scheduled because my card was rejected or declined. This confused me because I could see that my card was charged and it went through on my bank account. I called the bank to confirm the validity of this transaction and they said everything was good, nothing was declined by the bank. Unfortunately, the weekend reps have no authority to help me and she basically said her hands were tied. They can't reschedule, they can't add a different card and they can't tell me why it was declined! I didn't even receive a notice or warning of any kind that this happened. I was told my only option was to call their offices on the 5/23 8 am. I was warned that pick up openings are tight because college students are leaving in mass right now. The kicker is, I had a flight at 3:45 pm on the 23rd! Worried that there wouldn't be enough time, I transferred to the latest possible flight on the 23rd through my airline. What sucks is that I had to pay $70 and bump my 2 hour direct flight to a 5 hour transfer flight. I had a panic attack over this and contemplated abandoning my possessions already packed away in the red plastic bins. Redin still doesn't know 'where' the funds are and this entire experience has been stressful. I will update when I find out more. In the end, the bins have been picked up at the cost of: 1 sleepless night, $70 for a 5 hour transfer (as opposed to my 2 hour direct flight, sans transfer charge), and the phantom Redbin storage fee. I'm mostly irritated by Redbin never bothering to notify me that there was ever a billing problem and I had to ask myself. A simple notification email could have prevented this problem from happening. The only saving grace for Redbin is the representative name Debbie who immediately squeezed me in for a 8 am to 10 am pick up. She helped me so quickly and efficiently and didn't give me the run around like all of the other weekend reps. She understood the anxiety I was feeling and even calmed me down somewhat. read more

Doing the Lord's work. Was preoccupied with finals so I forgot about moving out of my dorm. Every other on-demand storage company was booked and were charging an arm and a leg. Luckily found RedBin and thought the 5$ per bin was a scam because it was too good to be true! Pleasantly surprised that they were actually a professional company and they charge 5$ per bin because the bins are relatively small. I was even able to get a pickup window on such short notice! The staff was patient and even though he was picking up for someone else, he let me drop off my bins 2 hours early. I haven't received my bins back yet but when I do, I trust that everything inside will be in great shape. Thanks RedBin! read more

I am incredibly disappointed in this service. My drop off never happened last night. Even more, no one reached out that night or the next morning to loop me into the situation or reconfigure my order. During my waiting period of 8 pm - 11 pm, I reached out via email and I still have yet to receive a response to my inquiry. I had to reach out the next morning(today) and talk to them, explaining that it was urgent for them to get me the boxes today as I had to be moved out of my dorm by 9 am. The customer service representatives hardly cared about the huge inconvenience their service had posed on my moving, seeming cranky and irritated. If you're not going to show up the day that i scheduled my order for, then I shouldn't have to pay for this. Highly disappointed. I recommend everyone use Box Butler instead -- it's even more affordable, only $4/box. This kind of service is unacceptable. read more

An absolutely brilliant idea. If you want to get rid of the random junk in your apt then this is the way to do it. Jassir (supervisor) and Jon (driver) are just wonderful. They're super courteous and very polite. They dropped off and picked up right on time and with maximum efficiency. The bins are a good size. You can't fit anything super big in them, but I stuffed my shoes, coats. books, random decorations, pillows, blankets, and a bunch of other stuff into them. The employees who pick up the phone are very sweet and try their best to accommodate you. It;s really just a great business. I hope they'll have bigger bin sizes in the future, but even without that, it's a great storage system. read more
