Given that we're only having a 7-month long engagement, going to bridal salons and ordering gowns was out of the question. In comes the Dowry to save the day! Staff: The staff is really friendly and helpful. The place is owned by Emily, a really sweet girl who really tries to accommodate you, even if it means she has to go out of her way. I made an appointment and worked with Anita, one of the store employees who is incredibly supportive and attentive. She greeted me warmly when I arrived and asked me what I was looking for in a wedding dress. True to what I described, she picked gowns that fit the description and stayed under the budget I gave her. Selection: The store is full of dresses that have never been worn at a steal of a price but there are also consigned gowns, too. I've seen labels like Pronovias and Allure on their racks. They have everything from sheaths to full-blown princess dresses. The dress I fell in love with is a Dere Kiang gown that seemed to be consigned to the store; it even had the original veil with it! There are even some evening formal dresses and special occasion dresses in their store, so if you have a formal event coming up, stop by to take a look! Overall experience: I was able to put my dress on hold for a week but ended up going back a few days later with a friend to get a second opinion and try it on a second time. I couldn't walk away the second time but was able to get the dress and the veil for under $300! Each time I talked to Emily or Anita, I was met and received with friendliness and genuine concern for what I wanted. I would DEFINITELY recommend the Dowry to anyone who is looking to do a wedding on a low budget or if you're like me and just think it's ridiculous to pay an arm and a leg for a dress ;)

However, the way that the others treat customers? That's a different story. I'm not sure that this is the business for you. When you disrespect the people that come into your store and bring you business? 100 percent unacceptable. My husband and I have been doing business with this place for over 8 years together. Myself personally, more like 15. Case in point, my husband bought a watch, that wasnt cheap mind you. When we received it the product looked as though it had been worn. It was beyond scratched up. They were good about the initial exchange. But my husband works out of town, so finally I went up to make the exchange as well as have other services done to my own watch and wedding rings. Although the exchange was made, apparently there was an issue. The claim was made in my direction that my husband had been wearing the watch. I politely told the extremely arrogant gentleman that no he had not and in fact the watch doesn't even fit him bc it was never sized. After some polite on my part, not so much theirs, exchange of words, I left extremely upset and unsatisfied. Unfortunately my husband will be going back there and informing them that we will never purchase from them again. Beyond my 6 month inspections, which are already paid for, I will never buy from there again. Solely on the way that I was treated. Shame on you Kay Jewelers!
