I began my Kositchek's experience in 1991 as an MSU graduate student. I needed to upgrade to a professional suit from a mens store--that is, not a women's store that happened to sell mens suits. I moved away after graduation, but I returned from Indiana and four locations in Illinois across the decades. Many suits, sport coats, and bow ties later, I have not found an equal to Kositcheks. I even interacted with a person who traveled from California, so Chicagoland is not a record distance, but worth the travel and two to three-night stay. I came in today in need of a suit, sport coat, and some other odds and ends. They were incredibly busy with a trunk show and a gentleman who needed some exploratory tailoring on his costume for a local dance competition. Despite that, they managed to get me fitted, help me pick out what I needed, and genuinely listened- they made recommendations but didn't push something when it was clear I was looking for something else. Kositchek's saved the day for our younger son who was best man for our older son. Our younger is a very small size young man and was unable to get a suit from the company the groomsmen were using. It was a very discouraging experience and after spending several futile hours looking for options online, we thought to try Kositchek's and we are so glad we did! I called the store and explained the situation over the phone and they assured me they could help. When we walked into the store, Mark had a suit laid out and ready for my son to try. It was just perfect-- right color, right styling, right size and just needed some tailoring. He treated my son respectfully and professionally. I don't own a nice suit. I work for a company that is extremely casual. So when I have a family event and need a nice sports coat or suit to wear, I'm out of luck. Finally I had a little money saved and thought I'd hit up Kositchek's for a suit. Cards on the table: I didn't save enough money. Kositchek's is absolutely top of the line. I walked out without anything. So why five stars? Because I worked with Lad while looking for a coat (before finding out the price range was more than I had). During fitting and selection I could tell Lad wasn't just trying to put me in any coat, he really was considering how I could get as much use out of one jacket as possible. He really cared about me being a happy customer and my specific wants/needs. Upon learning my low price range he took me to their clearance section. Still a bit much for me unfortunately, but even then he helped me by guiding me through what I should look for at a retail store. He advised, he suggested brands and stores and I never once felt judged for not having enough money to spend there. If I ever do spend real money on a NICE suit, Kositchek's would be where I'd go. I was very excited to be in town for an event the same day that they were hosting a Peter Millar Fall Season preview so I stopped in...to a very mixed experience. The garments are all fantastic and far exceed any other offerings between Grand Rapids and Metro Detroit. The service is trash. I was left completely unattended for over 10 minutes, while many available staff (very small store, abundantly staffed) members either spoke with each other or avoided me all together. It was apparent they have a customer base, and I was neither a regular nor a crusty old-dude. I was a bit shocked to see that there was exactly ZERO Peter Millar MSU gear in stock and was more shocked when eventually provided the worthless answer of it being made to order, however this was an excuse not an explanation. I was basically abandoned again until I started helping myself to the Fall Preview items at which point I was approached not to assist, but to explain to me the items I was going through were not available to purchase...I had to actually rhetorically ask if they could be ordered, knowing damn well that was how this preview worked. I was essentially still left to my own devices and although there were many pieces I wanted, couldn't bring myself to spend money here solely due to the lack of service. Alas, I was shopping which means buying. I bought a shirt off their rack, and ordered a must-have jacket from the preview...it was late 2021 and my name and number were written on a slip of paper. I should have known i was a trap. I stopped by the store about six weeks later to check status and undoubtedly shop. Upon arrival I was happy to spot an actual Peter Millar rep and bypassed the store staff to ask questions about the preview orders which were already in and all gone. When we both asked staff about my order I could see the bullshit wheels spinning and was assured it would be in soon, contradictory to what the rep knew and told me. Of course my slip of paper had been misplaced and my info taken again. They can't be bothered to use a computer? I bought a must have item the rep had available and was assured by ownership this order was actually gonna happen! It did not. Nothing again. I had a poor experience once and gave them the benefit of the doubt, only for them to backup their poor service with incredibly poor service. read more

I walked into Kositchek's as they were a little less than 10 minutes before closing with my mother-in-law who just wanted to take a quick glance as their small but classy/unique women's shoe department. We were only in for a short while, but their stellar customer service made a huge impression on me - I was literally blown away by their professional and courteous care. The owner introduced himself to me and encouraged us to stay as long as we'd like and enjoy our visit. The woman who worked in the shoe department was very helpful and pleasant and had great attention to detail. There was another man (who had a dog; I adore boutiques with shop dogs!!) who made conversation with us and also seemed genuinely interested in helping. Overall, just the perfect presentation and an upscale feel. Additionally, Kositchek's appears to have the most gorgeous and non generic tie selection I have ever seen in my life. Looking through all the ties was like being in a very colorful art gallery. I never knew ties were so stylish! read more

Went to Kositchek's for my first suit. It was for my Grandpa's funeral, which was only a couple days after I visited the store. The customer service here was absolutely the best customer service I have experienced in any store to this date. The staff was extremely helpful and able to meet my every need. They tailored the suit extremely well, but they did not have the time to fix some neck roll on the back of it. However, the gentleman I dealt with made me promise that I would bring back the suit after the funeral and get it fixed. In the amount of time allotted, they did an absolutely superb job of meeting my needs! I almost can't wait for someone to tell me they need a suit so I can recommend a visit to this place. I usually don't recommend stores in general because sometimes customer service varies with the employees that are working that day. However, I am so confident in Kositcheks that I would recommend them to anyone with no hesitation. A++ works guys! read more

Phenomenal suit selection. However I was helped by the sleaziest salesman I've ever encountered, very rude, very condescending. When I was trying my suit on in the fitting room I I overhead him say "sell,sell,sell!!" And then laugh to another salesmen. Not sure if it was my young age, or skin color, or maybe just luck of the draw I ended up with a clown assisting me. I'm sure there are great guys that work there, but I didn't find them. This Men's clothing store is as great as it comes, and that is including all aspects. when I arrived to shop there I was warmly welcomed by Mark. He was the utmost of professional in helping me to browse the store setting up several items for me to try on. I ultimately made two purchases from them and one of them was a beautiful pen. When I returned home to Las Vegas less than a week later my pen decided to stop working. I immediately contacted them and was shocked by how customer oriented they were in helping me get the issue revolved. I used to shop for men's clothes at Nordstrom. I have found that Kositcheks has many of the same labels and some interesting things that big chains do not. Tailoring is excellent and timely. Most of all, the service is fantastic and meets the customer where he is, whether a young man getting his first suit or an executive shopping for a board room. read more
