For my birthday, my clueless in make up boyfriend went in here to try to find me a bronzer. He ended up talking with the Clinique lady and decided on a duo, compact bronzer, highlight knowing I don't really use highlight, but thought that it could be interesting. She then realized she was out of what they were talking about and she sold him a $50 highlighter just highlight without his knowledge Ripping off customers for what? You know exactly what he came in there for and you knew that you sold him what he didn't think he was getting. read more

To me, this is a very sad post. Saying that, I have to provide some background info. When I attended Michigan State University, during my Undergrad years, I worked at this location, then, the infamous Hudsons. Meridian mall was a busy, hustle-bustle retail establishment. It even had some better years after that, expanding the Hudsons, turned Marshall Fields and this spot even had a Starbucks and a unique sandwich/soup area in the store. Business was brisk back then and they had excellent customer service and the shopper had the opportunity to really enjoy their experience. It made spending money fun! Fast forward, on-line retailers are pushing out and eliminating malls, stores and shopping institutions such as Macys. Although, I always adored Hudsons and it's subsequent incarnations, I was ok when Macy's took over, they were still known for high quality merchandise and exemplary service, helping to make the shopper's experience something to remember and return to. The two stars are not an attempt to hinder business, but to send a message to Macy's management and shareholders. Taking away service, the one experience you cannot get on-line, will be your demise. This Macy's now has its customer service areas very few and far between. There is, literally, one person that you can see working in a large are. They have an area that has a roped-off, make-shift "line" for returns and special orders right in the middle of the ladies clothing area. They have removed additional customer bathrooms, they have shoes staked up for "self-service." The shoes are all lined up on top of the shelf and the customer has to locate, sift through and find their size. There is no one to be found at most counters. The carpets are filthy, with visible stains. It was just so sad to see the downfall of such a nice store. If a customer does not have a pleasant in-store experience, the company is just conceding the victory to the on-line retailers. Put up the good fight, keep your customer base and provide a positive experience in the stores. Keep stores open and find a way to flourish, abandoning the customer is not the way. read more

My husband always finds what he needs at Macy's. This particular location is great! We come from Southern California and OMG the stores there are always a mess and busy but not this one. This Macy's was organized, clean fitting rooms (which I have never seen) and barely any lines at the checkout registers. Easiest and most calming trip ever. We found great pieces to add to his professional attire. We will come back in the future. read more

The worse service, went to the Clinique counter. Your lady there was terrible, treated us like we were bothering her. She gave us very little service and really gave us the impression we were a bother. We decided not to purchase anything. I suggested my daughter go to Sephora instead. read more

After the fiasco I went through with my credit card, I will not be shopping at Macy's again. They would not remove a late payment due to a serious illness in the family, which caused the late payment (2 days). Your policy was foolish and now my account with you is closed permanently along with several other friends who are closing their Macy's credit card accounts because of your shortsightedness. Filing cabinet bought by an 81-year-old disabled widowed woman, non-smoker who has COPD she can not even make her bed without taking a break, Macy's sold her ta filing cabinet missing 2 parts (the drawer bottoms). When she called and ask for the parts the first number a 24/7 number told her to call back during normal business hours. ( why have a 24/7 number if they just tell you to call back) When she did call back that person said they would just send the parts PERFECT! Then she got an email saying she would have to return the filing cabinet, to get her refund. NO FREAKING WAY CAN SHE LIFT THIS she had to have someone put it together for her. Now she was given her refund and told if she didn't return the filing cabinet by AUG 3 they would take the money out of her account. STUPID JERKS! WHO TREATS A DISABLED 81-YEAR-OLD CUSTOMER LIKE THAT or ANY CUSTOMER for that matter! SHAME SHAME SHAME ON MACYS and anyone who continues to do business with them. We need to protect our elderly and disabled family/friends. read more
